Naomi R. Osborne
Naomi Reed Osborne, 86, of Bristol, Va., sister of Mayme Elkins of Hartman, died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2003, in her home.
She was a daughter of Charles and Martha Reed, widow of Dick Osborne, active member of the First Christian Church, librarian, and was preceded in death by two children, Sylvia Dale and Jon Osborne.
Other survivors include two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Friday, Sept. 12, in Bristol, Va. Arrangements were under the direction of Blevins Funeral Home of Bristol, Va.
Roger W. Greer Sr.
Roger Wayne Greer Sr., 62, of Hartman died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003, at his home.
He was a trucking company driver trainer, Baptist, and son of the late Joe Greer.
Survivors include his widow, Fran Shadden Greer; one daughter, Michele Mancillas of the home; four sons, John Mancillas of the home, and Jay Greer, Buddy Greer and Barton Greer, all of Texas; mother, Lola Jo Bailey Guin of Marshall, Texas; two sisters, seven grandchildren; and one cousin.
A memorial service with military honors was held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Greer home at Hunt.

Robert Kendrick
Funeral for Robert (Bobby) J. Hugh Kendrick, 68, of Fayetteville, who died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2003, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Chris Wright officiating. Burial was in Mt. Vernon cemetery near Clarksville.
Pallbearers were Josh Sallee, Jordon Theis, Donny Davis, Jason Klein, and Sgt. Matt Partain.
He was a son of the late James Lacy and Versie Gertrude Jones Kendrick, Baptist, and a custodian for a janitorial business.
Survivors include his widow, Margie Ann Kendrick; three sons, Robert (Bobby) J. Hugh Kendrick Jr. of Fayetteville, William Robert Tyson of Conway, and Christopher Michael Wright of Ping Tung, Taiwan; one brother, James Ray Kendrick of Gosnell; and one grandchild, Daniel Li Wright of Ping Tung, Taiwan.
Allan R. Bender
Allan R. Bender, 56, of Hartman died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Hartman.
A native of Lodi, Calif., he moved to Arkansas in 1994, was the son of the late Alfred Bender, a Vietnam veteran, and an employee of Quick Transports as a mechanic/welder.
He is survived by two sons, Stephen Bender and Michael Bender, both of Lodi, Calif.; mother, Thelma Gustafson of Clarksville; three sisters, Marolyn Watts of Woodbridge, Calif., Carolyn Werner of Warden, Wash., and Betty Jackson of Monterey, Calif.; one brother, Ray Gustafson of Clarksville; and two grandchildren, Kayla Bender and Allyson Bender, both of Lodi, Calif.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Mike Eppinette officiating.
Archie J. Russell
Archie Jammia Russell, 95, of Clarksville died Friday, Sept. 5, 2003, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a daughter of the late Arthur Franklin and Nancy Saphronia Pitts Russell, Baptist, and retired laborer of a California fruit farm.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Jim Goodman officiating. Burial was in Woodland cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ed Crouch, Ralph Freeman, Steve Crouch, Thomas Pearson, Jeffery Freeman, and Gary Melson.
Bertha L. Bruton
Bertha Louise Bruton, 71, of Clarksville died Monday, Sept. 8, 2003, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a daughter of the late Mike and Edna Robison Johnson, widow of Alfred Bruton, member of Corner Stone Full Gospel Church, and was preceded in death by one son, Charles Bruton; four sisters, Faye Harris, Minnie Smithy, Shirley Johnson, and Myrtle Glasgow; and five brothers, Jesse Meadows, Bud Meadows, Chuck Johnson, Bob Johnson, and Bill Johnson.
Survivors include one daughter, Peggy Urtado of Clarksville; three sisters, Rose Moore of Lavaca, Betty Morse of Dyer, and Jimmie Raymond of Greenfield, Mich.; one brother, Raymond Johnson of Dover; and four grandchildren, Charles Ray Bruton, Lucas Bruton, Waylon Bruton, and Dorothy Christian.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, at Roller-Cox Chapel with burial in the Lamar cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Frank Urtado, Charles Bruton, Luke Bruton, Jerry Christian, Waylon Bruton, Chad Moore and Donnie Johnson.
Honorary pallbearer will be Patrick Johnson.
Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, at Roller-Cox Chapel.
Donald A. Holman
Donald Albert Holman, 81, died Monday, Sept. 1, 2003, in Dallas, Texas.
A native of Lamar, he was a son of the late Pierce and Elizabeth Holman, member of Faith Baptist Church in Mesquite, Texas, retired employee of Simmons (Beautyrest) after 32 years, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Joyce Marie; three sisters, Vivian Holman, Tressie Holman, and Eula Holman Cole; and one brother, Cecil Holman.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Nadine Holman; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rachel and Bud Baldwin of Wills Point, Texas, and Mary and Travis Hicks of Garland, Texas; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Donald L. and Eleane Holman of Gulfport, Miss., and Charles Holman of Mesquite, Texas; two sisters, Juanita Cole of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Ruth Sims of Clarksville; one brother, Morris Holman of Mesquite, Texas; ten grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, at Restland Wildwood Chapel with Rev. Truman Walker and Rev. Don Hicks officiating. Interment was at Restland Memorial Park.
Dorothy Morgan
Dorothy F. Morgan, 95, of Clarksville died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2003, in Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Beaumont, Texas, daughter of the late Lena (Wilder) and George Fecel Sr., widow of Berney Morgan, member of the Clarksville First Presbyterian Church, Daughter of the American Revolution, and Mount Vernon Extension Homemakers Club. She had resided in Houston, Texas, for 50 years prior to moving to Arkansas, and while there was a member of Current Study Club of Houston and the Sunset Terrace Garden Club.
She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Morgan Ekblad of Clarksville; one son and daughter-in-law, George and Kate Morgan of Santa Fe, N. M.; two sisters, Elizabeth Allen of Houston, Texas, and Patricia Kirby of Shawanee, Tenn.; one brother, George Fecel Jr. of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren and spouses, Russell and Carmen Ekblad of Aliso Viejo, Calif., Michael B. Ekblad of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Eric and Whitney Ekblad of Houston, Texas; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Lance Jones officiating. Burial was in Mt. Vernon cemetery.
Pallbearers were Russell Ekblad, Michael Ekblad, Eric Ekblad, and George Morgan.
Glen D. Patterson
Glen D. Patterson, 64, of Clarksville died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2003, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock.
He was a son of the late Selba Issac and Oca Ernestine Butts Patterson, Baptist, employee of Wal-Mart Distribution Center, and was preceded in death by his first wife, Wanda Pitts Patterson; and two brothers, Carl Patterson and Charles Patterson.
Survivors include his widow, Carol J. Smith Patterson; one daughter, Kim Grace of Lamar; four sons, Jimmy Patterson of Clarksville, Calvin Patterson of Garden City, Mo., Jason Addis of Clarksville and Robert Addis of Chicago, Ill.; three sisters, Anna Immel of Clarksville, Rita Funderburg of Lamar, and Verba Jones of Hunt; four brothers, Raymond Patterson, Clyde Patterson, and Selba Patterson, all of Clarksville, and James V. Patterson of Peculiar, Mo.; and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, at Harmony Presbyterian Church with burial in the Harmony cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Terrell Patton, Bill Porter, Thurman Ritchie, Dennis Pitts, Troy Graham, and L. C. Griffin.
June V. Thome
June V. Thome, 92, of Rock Falls, Ill., died Monday, Aug. 18, 2003, at Coventry Village Nursing Home.
She was a former resident of Clarksville and Lutherville, native of Sterling, Ill., daughter of the late Fredrick and May Tubbs Rice, widow of Anthony Thome, graduate of West Des Moines, Iowa High School, and a retired clerk at the former Chester's Department Store and the former Bachman Fashion Shoe Store in Sterling, Ill. She was preceded in death by two sons.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Rolland (Susan) Lindsay of Millegeville, Ill., and Diane Nuttall of North Glen, Colo.; one sister, Edith Manon of West Des Moines, Iowa; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls, Ill., with burial at Oak Knoll Memorial Park.
