Jesse William Loch, 80, of Clarksville died July 29, 2003, in Little Rock.
He was a retired truck owner, Army veteran, and son of the late Ora S. and Lena Marie Stinson Loch.
He is survived by three daughters, Linda Marlene Loch of Salton City, Calif., Karen Gibson of Chino Hills, Calif., and Lisa Loch of Clarksville; one son, Gary Loch of Clarksville; and six grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Gerald Morris officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery.
Pallbearers were Harlan Gattis, Larry Kern, Gary Loch, Bryan Meister, Pete Kenner, and Jeremy Gibson.
Leonard L. Koch
Leonard L. Koch, 82, of Paris, brother of Lawrence Koch of Coal Hill, died July 27, 2003.
He was a son of the late Jacob Valentine and Anna Marie Sweppenstede Koch, World War II U. S. Navy veteran, member of St. Joseph Catholic Church at Paris, Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars, retired rancher and coal miner, and was preceded in death by one son, David Leonard Koch.
Survivors include his widow, Eula Mae Whitecotton Koch; one daughter, Diane Koch Kremers of Paris; one son, Tommy Louis Koch of Paris; one other brother, Edward Koch of Paris; nine grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, at Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Paris with burial in Baxley cemetery at Paris.
Active pallbearers were Denny Kremers, Larry Koch, Gary Koch, Mark Jennings, Dallas J. Anderson, and David Snow.
Honorary pallbearers were Harold Parks, Danny Moses, and Joey Theis.
Linda J. Loell
Linda J. Loell, 52, of North Highlands, Calif., daughter of Gerald Pentzer of Clarksville, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2003, in California.
Other survivors include her husband, Greg Loell; two daughters, Kerry Loell and Stacey Loell, both of North Highlands, Calif.; and two brothers, Jerry D. Pentzer of Ozark and Larry J. Pentzer of Dallas, Texas.
Funeral was in North Highlands, Calif.
Mabadean C. Howard
Mabadean Culp Howard, 87, of Lamar died July 29, 2003, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a member of the Hagarville Baptist Church, daughter of the late Owen and Maude Murray Craighead, and was preceded in death by two daughters, Lorell Culp and Jutuan Robinson.
Survivors include her husband, Reece Howard; two daughters, Marilyn Burris of Welch, Okla., and Nancy Reece of Ozone; one son, Preston Culp of Peck, Kan.; two brothers, Max Murray of Texas and Kimbel Murray of Kansas; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, at the Hagarville Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Preston officiating.
Burial was in Russell cemetery at Ozone under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Nell Williamson
Funeral for Nell Williamson, 73, of Carthage, Mo., who died July 28, 2003, at her home, was at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Wayne Williamson officiating. Burial was in Mt. Vernon cemetery.

She was a member of the Church of Christ and daughter of the late Frank and Minnie Mikken Webb.

Vernon G. Loften Sr.
Vernon G. Loften Sr., 78, of Clarksville died Thursday, July 31, 2003, at Conway Regional Medical Center in Conway.
He was born at Fergus Falls, Minn., son of the late John and Inga Hilde Loften, member of Grace Lutheran Church of Clarksville, Army veteran of World War II, lifetime member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, retired employee of the Ford Motor Company in Los Angeles, Calif., and a member of the United Auto Workers.
Survivors are one son, Vernon Loften Jr. of Vilonia; two sisters, Doris Lindgren and Gladys Skansgard, both of Duluth, Minn.; and two grandchildren, Jacqueline Loften and Jesse Loften.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Herb Swanson officiating.
Burial was in St. Paul's Lutheran cemetery at Lutherville under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Alice Ann Harris
Alice Ann Patterson Harris, 70, died Monday, June 17, 2002, at the home of a daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Dennis Charles Ledbetter in Charleston, W. Va.
She was a native of Russellville, daughter of the late Judge George O. and Dorcas Ferguson Patterson, magna cum laude graduate of The College of the Ozarks (now University of the Ozarks), received a MSE degree from Arkansas Tech University in Russellville and was Queen Elberta IX at the 1950 Johnson County Peach Festival.
She taught social studies in the Arkansas public schools for 24 years, spent three years at Martin Methodist College in Pulaski, Tenn., as an instructor in history, and was an adjunct faculty member at various community colleges in Tennessee and Virginia in addition to working with the Vietnamese ReEducation Program at Fort Chaffee following the fall of South Vietnam in 1975.
She was an elder in the Presbyterian Church serving in both First Presbyterian Church in Harrisonburg, Va., and First Presbyterian Church in Clarksville where she also served as deacon.
As vice chair of the Johnson County Democratic Party Central Committee, she also served as Spadra Ward 2 Committeeperson for several years, was a member of the Arkansas State Democratic Party Central Committee and was a member of the Arkansas State Democratic Party Executive Committee. She served briefly as 3rd vice president of Arkansas State Democratic Women. In 1984, she was an Arkansas delegate to the National Democratic Convention in San Francisco, Calif.
She was the Johnson County Coordinator of the Arkansas Sesquicentennial in 1986, during which time she wrote, produced and directed the historical pageant "Johnson County Jubilee" involving 150 people. In 1987, she received the Pillar of Progress award for outstanding service to Johnson County. She was the recipient of the Daughters of the American Revolution Arkansas Outstanding Teacher of American History award and was the first place winner of the Arkansas Press Association essay contest "What The First Amendment Means To Me."
She served for several years as a member of the Clarksville Planning and Zoning Commission, was a board member of Counseling Associates, Inc., and was chairman of Criminal Detention Facilities Judicial Review for the Fifth Judicial District of Arkansas.
A member of the PEO Sisterhood, she was most recently a member of Chapter BB in Waynesboro, Va., having previously been a member of Chapter Q and Chapter CJ in Clarksville. She was a member of Alpha Theta Conclave of Kappa Kappa Iota of Clarksville of which she was the first president, and of Johnson County Historical Society and wrote genealogical articles for the History of Pope County, Volume 1. In Harrisonburg, Va., she was a member of the American Association of University Women and the Democratic Party Committee.
Other survivors include her husband, Eugene F. Harris; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Ronald George and Carolyn Morgan Harris of Nashville, Tenn., and Eugene Patterson Harris of Los Angeles, Calif.; five grandchildren, Sarah Caroline Harris, Susan Leslie Harris and Charles McConnell Harris of Nashville, Tenn., and Katherine Ashley Wolfe and Rebecca Jane Wolfe of Charleston, W. Va.; one sister and brother-in-law, Dorcas Sue and Robert H. Pine of Little Rock; three nephews, Robert Patterson Pine of Little Rock, Lonnie Butler of Hercules, Calif., and Walter South Jr. of Clarksville; one niece, Shirley Felkins of Clarksville; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 22, at the First Presbyterian Church in Clarksville with Rev. Lance Jones officiating.
Burial will be in Oakland cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Friday, June 21, at Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Betty L. Krohn
Betty L. Krohn, 78, of Clarksville died Friday, June 14, 2002, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Alma, Neb., daughter of the late Leslie Lee and Hazel Marie Camp Hawkinson, widow of Rev. James W. Krohn, graduate of Mission (Texas) High School, member of Hays Chapel United Methodist Church, Power Circle of First United Methodist Church, American Cancer Society Board, and Johnson Regional Medical Center Auxiliary, volunteer for "Meals On Wheels" and at Clarksville Elementary School, former co-owner of Clarksville Frozen Foods for several years, former secretary at the First United Methodist Church for nine years and at Hays Chapel United Methodist Church for 15 years, former cook at Pyron Elementary School for ten years, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Ann Froehlich.
She is survived by two daughters, Janie Chappell of Clarksville and Margaret Taverner of Greenbrier; two sons, John Krohn and James Krohn, both of Clarksville; three sisters, Marilyn Hardin of Oklahoma City, Okla., Muriel Hardin of Middletown, Ohio, and Vera Cole of Leakey, Texas; one brother, Maurice Hawkinson of Oklahoma City, Okla.; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, June 17, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Chris Rink and Rev. Steve Wingo officiating.
Burial was in Oakland cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
