Velma A. Lightfoot

Velma A. Lightfoot, 85, of Leona, Texas, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2004, at her home.
She was a former resident of Clarksville prior to moving to Leona, Texas in 1998, a native of Council Grove, Kan., daughter of the late Raleigh and Jessie Heidel, widow of Albert Lightfoot, member of the First Baptist Church in Centerville, Texas, and a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star in Arkansas, California and Texas.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, George Heidel, Everett Heidel, Herbert Heidel and Carl Heidel; two sisters, Myrle Normandin and Lucy Feicht Adams; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Chase and Kathleen Chase; and one son-in-law, Kenny Chase.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Albert (Rose) Lightfoot Jr. of Burleson, Tenn.; one daughter, Jean Chase of Leona, Texas; one sister, Dorothy Mansfield of Utah; three granddaughters, Jeanie Cooper and husband, Charles, of Houston, Texas, Lynn Lightfoot of Las Vegas, Nev., and Judy Lightfoot of Henderson, Ariz.; two grandsons, Jim Chase of Houston, Texas, and Michael Chase of Leona, Texas; and one great-grandson, Justin Lightfoot of Las Vegas, Nev.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, at the First Baptist Church in Centerville, Texas, with Rev. Larry Ashley, pastor, officiating. Burial was Tuesday, Dec. 21, at the Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, Calif. Arrangements were under the direction of Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 609, Centerville, TX 75833, the Leona Volunteer Fire Department in Leona, Texas, or the charity of the donor's choice.

Wilma D. Payne

Wilma Dean Payne, 77, of Clarksville died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Clarksville and daughter of the late Henderson and Lucy Rankin Stanfil.
Survivors include her husband, Don Payne; three sons, Larry Reece of Mt. Ida, Don R. Payne of Apex, N. C., and Kenneth L. Wood of California; six grandchildren, Jennifer Reece of Fort Smith, Meredith Reece of Greenwood, Allison Floyd and husband, Kevin, of Waldron, Chris and Brandon Payne, both of North Carolina, and Kevin Wood of Florida; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Robert Brown officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery.
Pallbearers were Marty Howard, Danny Leeds, Troy Blankenship, Bill Hill, Dan Patridge, and Len Bradley.

Susan K. Magby

Susan K. Magby, 52, of Clarksville died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004, at her home.
She was born in Sterling, Colo., graduated from Hot Springs High School in South Dakota, and was a member of Stillwell Bible Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, John Magby; one daughter, Brenda Magby of Bentonville; one son, Bernie Magby of Clarksville; parents, Bud and Eunice Marks of Oral, S. D.; one sister, Linda Marks of Denver, Colo.; and twin brother, Willie Marks of Sheridan, Wyo.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, with Rev. Jim Goodman officiating. Local arrangements are under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral.
The body was cremated.

Betty S. Hardgrave

Betty Sue Foster Hardgrave, 73, of Clarksville died Monday, Dec. 27, 2004.
She was a daughter of the late Alfred and Clara Foster, native of Franklin County but had resided in Johnson County for the past 58 years, was employed in the Johnson County Courthouse for 25 years having served as circuit clerk for 14 years, member of Union Grove Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher and church clerk for many years, member of the Order of Eastern Star, served as a 4-H leader, and was active in the Sulphur Springs Extension Homemakers Club.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Ben Floyd Hardgrave; one son and daughter-in-law, Ben Alfred and Judy Hardgrave of Clarksville; two daughters and one son-in-law, Peggy and Larry Horne and Dianne Urell, all of Clarksville; two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Guy and Velma Foster, Tommy and Mary Foster, and Muriel Hardgrave, all of Ozark; five sisters and two brothers-in-law, Rhoda Kelly of Ozark, Lillian Parker of Modesto, Calif., Alta Johnston of Mulberry, Marcella and Ira Mitchell and Joyce and Roy Crooks, all of Ozark; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at the Union Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Horne and Rev. Burnett King officiating.
Burial will be in Union Grove cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be Claud Dougan, Gene Raible, Mike Jacobs, Wes Kendrick, Lonnie Turner, and Duane Steele.
Honorary pallbearers will be Glen Drum, Bob Hurley, Loyd Yates, C. O. Blackard, Donald Meek, Dale Meek, John Patterson, Rick Harmon, Steve Harmon, Kenneth Harmon, Howard Halmes, and Don Dougan.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Carl A. Reed

Carl Anthony Reed, 60, of Albuquerque, N. M., formerly of Clarksville, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Florence and Charles Clinton of Clarksville; and two sisters and one brother-in-law, Yvonne Leibschwager of Austin, Texas, and Marlene and Fred Dougan of Clarksville.
The body was cremated.

Charles B. Waddell

Charles (Billy) Waddell, 69, of Florence, Miss., brother-in-law of Allen Kirkpatrick of Knoxville, died Friday, Dec. 24, 2004, at River Oaks Hospital in Flowood, Miss.
He was a native of Holmes County, former resident of Richland, Miss., U. S. Army veteran, member of Sallis Baptist Church, Mason with Knoxville (Arkansas) Lodge, former employee of True Value Hardware of Richland, Miss., and retired after 30 years as a construction superintendent with Irby Construction Company.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Charlene Waddell; three daughters, Carla Waddell of Pearl, Miss., Christie Brunson of Florence, Miss., and Theresa Wright of Conway; mother, Eva Dee Waddell of Florence, Miss.; one brother, Donald Gene Waddell of Winchester, Ohio; and seven grandchildren, Brandy Mahaffey, Kayla, Danielle, Tory and Ashley Brunson, and Kye and Joah Wright.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 27, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, Miss., with burial in Garden of Memories cemetery.

Gene V. Price

Gene V. Price, 82, of Russellville died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004, at his home.
He was a son of the late Abbie Chester and Nora Love Price, native of London, retired security guard with Great Lakes Carbon in Altus, U. S. Navy veteran of World War II, member of Franklin Masonic Lodge No. 9 at Clarksville, and was preceded in death by his wife, Dolly Phillips Price; three brothers, Orville, Abbie and Robert Price; and one sister, Inez Dokey.
Survivors include one brother, John L. Price of Russellville; and companion, Carol Holman.
Graveside services and burial with Masonic rites were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, at Price cemetery near London with Rev. David Downum officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.

Inza D. Bailey

Inza "Dedee" Bailey, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004, at her home in El Paso, Texas.
She was a daughter of the late James and Rose Heston.
Survivors include her husband, James Bailey; one son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Kimberly Carlson of Salus; one daughter and son-in-law, Candy and Derek Cox of Clarksville; one sister, Debbie Chonka of Gunnison, Colo.; three brothers, Timmy Heston of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Jimmy Heston and Danny Heston, both of Grants, N. M.; and four grandchildren, Teron Cox and Joely Houston, both of Clarksville, and Sean and Bubba Carlson, both of Salus.

Martin F. Drittler

Martin F. Drittler, 99, of Russellville died Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004, at AMI St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
A native of Lutherville, he was a son of the late Fred and Lena Geissler Drittler, U. S. Army veteran of World War II having served in the European Theatre and was the recipient of five Bronze Star Medals, the European-African Middle Eastern Theatre Campaign Ribbon, the World War II Victory Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal.
He was co-owner and manager with his brother, Emil Drittler, of the Pine's Motel in Russellville for 38 years, member of St. John's Lutheran Church and was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Hilda Rietzke Drittler; one son and daughter-in-law, Alvin and Faye Drittler of Russellville; two grandchildren, Lauren Drittler of Russellville, and Justin Drittler and wife, Sara, of Russellville; two great-grandchildren, Nikolaus and Logan Drittler of Russellville; one brother, Reinhold (Billy) Drittler of Springdale; and two sisters, Katherine Lohse of Napoleon, Ohio, and Alma Sohl of Nacogdoches, Texas.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at St. John's Lutheran Church with Darrell Kobs officiating.
Burial will be in Lutherville cemetery under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service of Russellville.
Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church.

Paul H. Wood

Paul H. Wood, 78, of Van Buren died Monday, Dec. 27, 2004, at Beverly Health Care Nursing Home in Van Buren.
He was a carpenter, son of the late John and Elsy Powell Wood, and was preceded in death by one sister, Aileen Hester, and one brother, Junior Wood.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Lewis of Mountainburg; one son, David Wood of Mulberry; three brothers, Harry, Ed, and Bill Wood, all of Clarksville; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at the Lone Pine cemetery with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
