Marvin Bradford
Marvin Bradford, 82, of Bee Branch died Saturday, October 2, 2004 at home. He was born August 4, 1922 at Eglantine, the son of the late Claude G. and Effie Bradford.
He served with the U. S. Army in World War II, and was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Arvil and Garner Bradford, and by a sister, Leona Kersey.
Survivors include his wife, Virgie Knoble Treat Bradford; a son, Jimmie Lee Bradford and wife Jan of Penrose, CA; a daughter, Joyce Ann Thomas and husband John of Perrytown, TX; a brother, Emmett Bradford and wife Carol of Eglantine; a sister, Bonnie Fitzwater and husband Keith of Higden; four stepsons, Homer Treat Jr. and wife Lorraine of Green Cove Springs, FL, Gary Treat and wife Gracie of Mt. Pleasant, TX, Phillip Treat and wife Kathy of Alexander, and Stephen Treat and wife Teresa of Thomasville, GA; three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, 12 step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 5 at Sugar Loaf Baptist Church with Danny Brown officiating. Interment followed at Eglantine cemetery by Olmstead Funeral Home of Heber Springs.
Pallbearers included Jeremy Bradford, Jason Bradford, Kyle Bradford, Chris Bradford, Roger Bradford and Brian Treat.

Betty Cooper
Betty Jean Crosswhite Cooper, 67, of Greenbrier died Sunday, October 3, 2004 at Conway Regional Medical Center. She was a former Clinton resident, and was born January 23, 1937 at Osceola to the late John Cleveland and Rosie Irene Crosswhite.
She was preceded in death by siblings William Crosswhite, Marceline Mitchell and Virginia Crosswhite.
Survivors include her husband, Alvin Cooper of the home; children John and Benita Erby of Clinton, James Jr. and Angie Erby of Ocala, FL, Jeff and Marie Erby of Hosford, FL, Jackie and Paul Stanley of Belleview, FL and Justin and Paula Erby of Clinton; 15 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; a brother, J.R. Crosswhite of Mussel Shoals, AL and a sister, Ophelia Carroll of Aurora, MO, and half-brothers and sisters Owen, J.C., Lucille, Gladys, Hubert and Irene Crosswhite.
Services were held Wednesday, October 6 at Roller-McNutt Chapel in Clinton with Virgil Lemings and Joe Tapp officiating. Interment was at Crabtree cemetery by Roller-McNutt of Clinton.
Active pallbearers included Pete Bullock, Charles Pruitt, Calvin Cooper, Matthew Stewart, Jay Jenkins and Billy Cooper.
Honorary pallbearers were Sherman Bryant, Dennis Kirkendoll, Ralph Roesch, Dwight David Sims and Jason Daughtery.

Harlene Hensley
Harlene Hensley, 87, died on October 22, 2004 in Tulsa, OK
She was born October 28, 1916 in Arapaho, Custer Co., OK to Boyd Harlen Hutton and Stella Harrington Hutton.
She was the widow of James Bert Hensley and they were co-owners of Western Auto & Hensley Auto Supply in Clinton.
Survivors include a son, Warren Hensley and wife Marsha, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren, all of Tulsa.
Family services were held November 8, 2004 at Marshall with interment at Canaan cemetery in Marshall.

Lucy Cates
Lucy Francis Cates, 86, of Shirley died Sunday, November 28, 2004 at Ozark Health Nursing Center in Clinton. She was born July 4, 1918 in North Dakota, the daughter of the late George W. Bliss and Effie Pierce Bliss.
She had been a resident of Shirley for most of her life, and was a homemaker and mother. She was a member of Shirley Community Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben H. Cates, on June 21, 1989; by a stepson, Harold Leonard Cates; by a stepdaughter, Mary Faye Reese, and by four brothers, two sisters and by three grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, David Cates and Robert Blizzard; five daughters, Virginia Cates, Marcia Girdler, Lily Harmon, Helen Blizzard Johnson and Oleeta Goodnight McElroy; one brother, George Bliss, 21 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 30 at Shirley Community Church with Rev. Dean Mays and Rev. Bobby Ward officiating. Interment was at Settlement cemetery by Olmstead Funeral Home of Heber Springs.
Pallbearers included Stephen Harmon, Raymond Girdler, Rod Girdler, Raymond Cates, Robert Cates, Buck Cates and Ulessey B. Haley.

Bobbie Knight
Bobbie J. Knight, 64, died Friday, November 26, 2004. She was born February 14, 1940 at Bee Branch, the daughter of McKinley and Ida Mahan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Knight Sr. and by a son, Ricky Johnson.
Survivors include two daughters, Pam Davis of Dennard and Teresa Smith of Morrilton; a stepson, Jay Knight Jr. of Dennard; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Bill Mahan of Center Ridge, and four sisters, Lois Johnson and Alene Bynum of Bee Branch and Bonnie Shipp and Ida Mae Good of Morrilton.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 29 at Roller-McNutt Chapel in Clinton with Eldridge Snow officiating. Interment was at Dennard cemetery by Roller-McNutt.
Pallbearers included Brian Lowe, Travis Billot, Bradley Irons, Larry Adams, Max Young and Tom Johnson.

Margaret Lockhart
Margaret Louise Lockhart, 92, of Fairfield Bay died Friday, November 26, 2004. She was born August 5, 1912 at St. Louis, MO to the late Hugh and Myrtle Henke Withington. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amelia, and by a sister, Jean Frankie Rhodes. She was of Lutheran faith, was a homemaker and a loving mother.
Survivors include her husband, Paul James Lockhart; a daughter, Jane A. Pindell of Fairfield Bay; a son, Gerry Edward Requarth of Murray, KY, six grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Crematory arrangements were by Roller-McNutt of Clinton.
Memorials may be made to Indian Rock Village or the Alzheimer’s Association.

Keith Mountjoy
Keith Raymond Mountjoy, 76, of Clinton died Saturday, November 27, 2004. He was born April 30, 1928 at Helena, MT to the late Charles Raymond and Grace Thorn Mountjoy. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, was a retired postal worker and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include a sister, Donna Smith of Clinton, and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Services were held Monday, November 29 at Clinton Church of Christ with Stan Smith officiating. Interment was at Huie cemetery by Roller-McNutt of Clinton.

Hazel Wood
Hazel Montine Wood, 83, of Bee Branch died Thursday, November 25, 2004. She was born March 15, 1921 at Morganton, a daughter of the late S.P. and Ava Linn. She was a longtime member of Mt. Zion General Baptist Church, served as a Sunday school teacher for 50 years and worked in Vacation Bible school since it began in 1946. In 2000 she was inducted into the General Baptist Women’s Ministries Wayside Witness Club.
She was preceded in death by brothers L.D. and Conal Linn and by her sister, Larene Kennedy.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Amon Wood; sons Bob Wood and wife Judy of Springdale and Ed Wood and wife Shirley of Bee Branch; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 27 at Mt. Zion General Baptist Church with Rev. Jim French officiating. Interment was at Hardin cemetery by Roller-McNutt of Clinton.
Pallbearers inbcluded Todd, Jared and Clint Wood, Johnny Roberts, Jeff Hutto, Travis Love, Harvey Pennington and David Eifling. Honorary pallbearers were Connor Roberts, Peyton and Mason Wood and the men of Mt. Zion General Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to the church building fund, the Arkansas Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Lawrence Ricker
Lawrence Ricker, 95, of Higden died Monday, November 22, 2004. He was born February 2, 1909 in Clay County, the son of the late Dave Ricker and Nettie Barringer Ricker. He was a timber and sawmill worker and a farmer, and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a Christian.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Pete and Lance.
Survivors include a son, Neal Ricker of Higden, and a daughter, Elaine Shirts of Oregon, 17 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Crematory arrangements were by Roller-McNutt of Clinton.
