Emma Hobbs
LITTLE ROCK -- Emma Lee Hall Hobbs, 71, of Little Rock, died February 27, 2002, at University Hospital at Little Rock.
Born January 19, 1931, at Hughes, she was a daughter of the late William Hall Sr. and Arrea Hall.
She was a member of Grapevine Church of God in Christ, where she served as the church mother. She was also a member of the Grandparent Club.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William Hall Jr.
Survivors include seven sons, Quancy Hobbs Jr. of Voorhees, New Jersey, Rondale Hobbs and Lawerance Hobbs, both of Little Rock, Lacy Hobbs of Jackson, Mississippi, William Hobbs and Freeman Hobbs, both of Detroit, and Shawn Hobbs of Hanau, Germany; seven daughters, Francis Parker, Debra James, Dianette Hobbs Brown, Clotese Hobbs and Lurenda Hobbs, all of Detroit, Margaret Lewis and Sheila Hobbs, both of Jackson, Michigan; two sisters, Elizabeth Hall and Jo Ann William, both of Detroit; 53 grandchildren; and 60 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at noon today at Greater Trinity Church of God in Christ at Little Rock with Elder Lawerance Hobbs officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Garden by Christian Way Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.
Lillie Hartness
MONTICELLO -- Lillie Lewayne Hartness, 62, of Monticello, died March 3, 2002, at Drew Memorial Hospital at Monticello.
Born January 21, 1940, she was a daughter of the late John G. Vance and Cora Sasser Vance.
She was a secretary for the Dermott schools and a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband, James Hartness ; two daughters, Jamie Hartness and Debbie Young, both of Monticello; two sisters, Mary Wallack of Hot Springs and Ruby Marter of Monticello; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Centerpoint Cemetery in Drew County with the Rev. Larry Donaldson officiating. Burial will be by Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home of Monticello.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Farrar Hudson
RUSSELLVILLE -- Farrar Martin Hudson, 83, of Russellville, died March 2, 2002, at her home.
Born December 25, 1918, at Pine Bluff, she was a daughter of the late Robert Farrar Martin and Phoebe Phillips Martin.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Russellville, where she had served as secretary. She had been a member of the Tuesday Bridge Club for more than 50 years. She was a former member of the Parent Teacher Association and a former Girl Scout leader.
Survivors include her husband, Walter Cole Hudson Jr., whom she married in October 1942; one son, Walter Cole Hudson III of Dover (Pope County); three daughters, Bettie Hudson Moss of League City, Texas, Nellie Hudson Howell of Mount Nebo (Yell County) and Mary Jane Hudson Wygle of New Braunfels, Texas; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today at Shinn Funeral Home with the Revs. Mackey Yokem and Clefton Vaughan officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery at Russellville.

Joe Carr
WARREN -- Joe Harley Carr, 71, of Warren, died March 2, 2002, at Baptist Medical Center at Little Rock.
Born July 4, 1930, in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Jesse William Carr and Oval Carr.
He was a retired construction worker and a Mason.
He served in the Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include four sons, Mike Carr and Bobby Carr, both of Jacksonville, Tommy Carr of California, and Steven Carr of Texas; three daughters, Mary Dougan of El Dorado, Donna Carr of Montana and Teresa Kay Carr of Jacksonville; two brothers, John Carr of Warren, Pennsylvania, and Frank William Carr of California; five sisters, Billie Carr of New Orleans, Carolyn Gardner of Warren, Jerri Groves of Bradford (Lafayette County), Sue Lawson of Fordyce and Effie Pearson of Harrison; and several grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at Frazer's Funeral Home at Warren. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
James Reynolds
WHITE HALL -- James Robert Odell Reynolds, 80, of White Hall died March 3, 2002, at his home. Funeral services will be announced by Hale-South Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.
Jesse Kelly Jr.
Jesse Kelly Jr., 49, of 1400 South Utah Street, died February 26, 2002, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
Born March 26, 1952, at Pine Bluff, he was a son of the late Jesse Kelly Sr. and Effie Z. Walters Kelly.
He was a member of Greater Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.
He worked for Cotton Belt Railroad Company for 25 years and was a member of the Brotherhood Railway Carmen Division. .
Survivors include his fiancˇe, Idella Simmons of Pine Bluff; one son, Jesse Kelly III of Pine Bluff; two daughters, LaTrina Kelly Raford and Tracie Kelly, both of Pine Bluff; eight grandchildren; and Darius Simmons, Jherica Simmons, Kelanna Simmons and Nicandia Simmons, all of Pine Bluff, whom he helped raise.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Greater Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy L. Fisher officiating. Burial will be in St. Luke Cemetery by Christian Way Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The body will be at the church from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday.
The family will be at 1400 South Utah Street.
C. Brown Jr.
CARLISLE -- Columbus Brown Jr., 91, of Carlisle (Lonoke County), died February 28, 2002, at Baptist Health Medical Center at Little Rock.
Born March 20, 1910, at Macon, Mississippi, he was a son of the late Columbus Brown Sr. and Annie Brown.
He was a member of First Baptist Highland Park Church at Little Rock.
He was a self-employed farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Octavia Dillard Brown; four sons, Levorn Brown of Lonoke, Columbus Brown III of Little Rock, Johnny Brown of Carlisle and Benton Brown of Memphis; six daughters, Laura Johnson of Lodi, California, Ethel Edmondson of Detroit, Sadie McLish of North Little Rock, Jamette Thompson and Geneva Wordlaw, both of Little Rock, and Juanita Lee of Beaumont, Texas; 33 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Wilson Funeral Home at England with the Rev. W.W. Walker officiating. Burial will be in Carlisle Cemetery at Carlisle.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The family will be at the home of Columbus Brown III, 6512 Sherry Drive, Little Rock.
Esther Crain
KINGSLAND -- Esther Mae Brown Crain, 92, of Kingsland, died March 4, 2002, at Cleveland County Nursing Home at Rison.
Born December 7, 1909, in the Herbine community near Rison, she was a daughter of the late Carlee C. Brown and Myra Reed Brown.
She was a homemaker and a member of Kingsland Assembly of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace G. Crain; and one son, Billy Ray Crain.
Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Nichols of Monticello and Claire Nell Jaggar of Wright; two brothers, Earnest C. Brown and Glen Brown, both of Claremore, Oklahoma; four sisters, Leola McKinney and Joyce Weeks, both of Fordyce, and Ethel Funderburg and Nila Faye Lackey, both of White Hall; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Kingsland Assembly of God Church with Louis Langley officiating. Burial will be in Kingsland Cemetery by Buie Funeral Home at Rison.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
James Reynolds
WHITE HALL -- James Robert Odell Reynolds, 80, of White Hall, died March 3, 2002, at his home.
Born July 29, 1921, at Atkins (Pope County), he was a son of the late John Coleman Reynolds and Pearl Allen Reynolds.
He received his early education at Atkins. He retired in 1976 after 21 years of service at the Pine Bluff Arsenal, where he worked in the property division.
He served in the armed services during World War II in North Africa, Italy and the occupation of Japan.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Jean Parson Reynolds, whom he married November 28, 1953; one son, Rick Reynolds of White Hall; five brothers, Harlan Reynolds and Coleman Reynolds, both of Pine Bluff, Otis Reynolds and Bobby Reynolds, both of Stuttgart, and Johnny Reynolds of Benton; and two sisters, Lena Watson of England and Jean Watson of Stuttgart.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Park Cemetery at White Hall with Coleman Reynolds officiating. Burial will be by Hale-South Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The family will be at the home, 406 Natural Drive, White Hall.
Arneath Reeves
Arneath Reeves, 77, of 1702 West 29th Avenue, died February 6, 2001, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Perry Funeral Home.
Andrew Crossett
Andrew David "Andy" Crossett, 66, of Pine Bluff, died March 29, 2001, at Arkansas Heart Hospital at Little Rock.
Born July 27, 1934, at Pine Bluff, he was a son of the late Earnest Lee Crossett and Thelma McGuyer Crossett.
He was reared and educated at Pine Bluff and graduated from Watson Chapel High School. He attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello.
He was the Jefferson County District conservationist for the Soil Conservation Service and retired in 1989 after 33 years of service. He also owned and operated Andy's Land Leveling Irrigation Service for the past 13 years.
He was an active member of Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church, where he had served as a past chairman of the administrative board and a Sunday school teacher for 30 years.
He enjoyed coaching baseball and was a former coach of the IP Supervisors team at Pine Bluff National League, along with Babe Ruth League teams. He was also a past member of the board of Pine Bluff Junior Babe Ruth League.
He was currently serving on the University of Arkansas Foundation Board as UAM representative and as a member of the University of Arkansas at Monticello Alumni Board.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Sue Henry Crossett; two sons, David Crossett of Pine Bluff and Jon Crossett of West Helena; one daughter, Andra Crossett LeNarz of White Hall; two brothers, Harry Crossett of Monticello and Richard "Buddy" Crossett of Waldron; one sister, Mamie Carter of Dardanelle; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church with Dr. Randall Reddin and the Rev. Jay Culpepper officiating. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery in Jefferson County by Charles E. Fuller Funeral Company.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
