Kendra Guengerich
Kendra Ruth Guengerich, 24, of Minonk, Ill., passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2013, in rural Hudson, Ill. She was the granddaughter of Ted and Norma New of Shirley, Ark.
She was born March 17, 1989, in Pekin, Ill., to Richard Harland and Karla Gay (New) Guengerich.
Surviving are her mother, Karla New of Minonk, Ill.; father and step-mother, Rich and Melinda Guengerich of Pekin, Ill.; one brother, Clayton Guengerich of Minonk, Ill; one sister, Shelly Saal of Minonk, Ill.; grandparents, Ted and Norma New of Shirley, and Marsha Guengerich of Pekin, Ill.; one nephew, Nathan Dober of Pekin, Ill.; one step-brother, Aaron Black of Peoria, Ill.; step-grandfather, Dale Rowden of Pekin, Ill.; and her boyfriend, Brandon West of Minonk, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Richard Guengerich.
A 2007 graduate of Fieldcrest High School in Minonk, Ill., Kendra attended Heartland Community College in Normal, Ill.
Kendra worked as a waitress/bartender in Kappa, Ill. Previously she worked at Woody’s Family Restaurant in Minonk, Ill., for five years as a waitress and later as a manager.
Kendra loved animals and helping people. She always had a smile on her face.

Her funeral was at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2013, at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin, Ill. Graveside service and burial was 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at Davis Special cemetery in Fairfield Bay, Ark. Memorial contributions may be made to Davis Special cemetery. Local arrangements are by Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Clinton, Ark.
Joe Canady Jr.
Joe Canady Jr., 76, of Rock Falls, Ill.,, died Monday, June 10, 2013, at his residence. Joe was born June 20, 1936, in Bee Branch, Ark., the son of Joe and Vera (Holland) Canady Sr. He married
Jo Ann May on July 6, 1957, in Sterling, Ill. He was employed as a pipe fitter for Northwestern Steel & Wire for 36 years. After his retirement he drove a school bus for Ryder and then First Student Bus Co. of Rock Falls for 14 years. He enjoyed traveling on his motorcycle and spending time with his great-grandchildren.
Survivors include Jo Ann Canady of Rock Falls, Ill.; one son, Timothy (Lorrie) Canady of Rock Falls, Ill.; one grandchild, Jeremy Canady; three great-grandchildren, Micha, McKinley and Alanna Canady; and three sisters, Veda Hutchison of Morrilton, Ark., Bobbe Sue Nickolson of Conway, Ark., and Carolyn Rose Bradford, also of Morrilton.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Teri Fortney; two2 grandchildren, Cory Canady and Courtney Canady; and three brothers, James Ray, Noel and Elmer Canady.
Visitation was Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at the McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls, Ill. Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 13, 2013, at the Coloma Township cemetery, Rock Falls, Ill., with Pastor Dalmus Meeks officiating.
David Knight
David Hanns Knight of Shirley, Ark., entered in to rest Saturday, June 15, 2013. He was born April 22, 1970, at Clinton, Ark., to Winton E. “Bill” and Shirley (Mullen) Knight.
This young man of 43 years was a lifetime resident of Fairfield Bay and Shirley, Ark.
David was preceded in death by his father; nieces Rachel Bonds of Fox, Ark., and Kallie Nelson of Rose Bud, Ark.; and a nephew, Ethen Bonds of Fox, Ark.
David is survived by his mother, Shirley Knight of Shirley, Ark.; six sisters, Rita Armantrout (Jerry) of Kansas, Treva Eoff (Rodney) of Fairfield Bay, Ark., Linda Robinson (Rick) of Branson, Mo., Beth Ware (Charlie) of Greers Ferry, Ark., Lisa Bonds (Randy) of Fox, Ark., and Julie Eubanks (Brad) of Cabot, Ark.; three brothers, Marvin Knight (Deandra) of Greenbrier, Ark., Tony Knight (Gina) of Heber Springs, Ark., and Randy Knight (Jennifer) of Overland Park, Kansas; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many great- nieces and nephews. David is also survived by numerous friends, and man’s best friend “Duke” his dog.
David was a very caring and generous man, who loved his family, friends and the outdoors. He was always there with a hand of assistance, and continued to give even after death. David was an organ donor, and his gifts will continue to bless others even after the pain of his passing diminishes, and sweet memories of him explode into full bloom. At times, David may have underestimated the impact he made in each and every one of us, but we know he is truly cherished.

Mary Scott
Mary Katherine Sikes Scott, age 69, of Damascus, Ark., left this earth to be with her Lord on Sunday, June 16, 2013, at her home. She was born on Feb. 3, 1944, in Shelby County, Tenn., to the late John Willey and Daisey Lee (Snow) Sikes.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Don Scott of Tennessee; her parents, John Sikes and Daisey Mounger; a daughter, Cindy Buke; her stepson, David Scott; her sister, Melissa Schafer; her brother, John Wayne Sikes; and a grandson, Terry Parks Jr.
She is survived by her sons, Eddie Wyatt of Conway and James Scott of San Diego, Calif.; her daughters, Patricia Chapman of Damascus and Margaret Parks of Choctaw; her sisters, Kitty Phillips of Mt. Vernon and Patricia Douglas of Carlinville, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 19, from 5-7 p.m. at Olmstead Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 20, at 10:30 a.m. in the Fairbanks Church with Bro. Ron Byrd officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairbanks cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joshua Parks, Joseph Parks, Randy Jackson, Billy Jackson, Robert Jackson, Bobby Wyatt, Randy Nicholson, and Michael Cash. Olen Standridge
Olen Milo Standridge, 86, of Scotland, Ark., passed away Thursday, July 4, 2013. He was born Aug. 10, 1926, at Moore, Ark., to the late Columbus Ivy “Lum” and Lourenda (Humphry) Standridge.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and five sisters, Ella Belle Standridge, Inice Fugate, Delphia Mohler, Mandy Anderson, and Oma Dunham.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Oma Evelyn (Napier) Standridge; son, Ricky Wayne and Angie Standridge of Scotland; two grandsons, Jamie and Rachael Reeves of Clinton, and Danny and Michelle Reeves of Shirley; four great-grandchildren, Kristen, Gavin, Kami, and Adison; his brother, Clevis Standridge of Elwood, Ind.; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Olen was a loving husband, an awesome father and wonderful friend. He lived his life each day to please God, because he knew that each day was a gift from God. He loved to garden, and grew some of the biggest and sweetest watermelons you ever ate. He loved to hunt and fish, if you really wanted to get a smile on his face just say, get your fishing pole, and he was ready to go. Olen was a friend to everybody, he would do anything to help anybody. That just shows what a big heart he had. He was a hard working man and provided well for his family. Olen was a good example of a wonderful Godly Man.

Emma Winn
Emma Jean Finklea Winn, 82, of Clinton, Ark., went to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 26, 2013. She was born April 5, 1931, in Panola, Texas, to the late John Hubbard and Abbie Exa (Edge) Finklea.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 58 years Calvin Winn; son Calvin Winn II; brother James Finklea; four grandkids; and two great-grandkids. She is survived by her three sons, Bobby Winn and Glenn Win, both of Clinton, Ark., and Barry Winn of Houma, La.; brother John Finklea of Shreveport, La.; two sisters, Jeri Price of Greenwood, La., and Judy Henley of Shreveport, La.; 14 grandkids; 29 great-grandkids; and many relatives and friends.
Memorial service was 11 a.m. Monday, July 1, 2013, at First Baptist Church, Clinton, Ark., with Pastor Jim Edwards officiating. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Clinton.
Jaxson Guinn
Jaxson Edward Guinn, age 19, of Morrilton, passed away Friday, June 28, 2013. He was born Jan. 1, 1994, in Conway, Ark. Jaxson was a student at U.A.C.C.M., a member of People to People Ambassador Program, and of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his father, Brent Guinn of Plumerville; mother, Tara Johnson Guinn of Little Rock; grandparents, Jo Breedlove of Morrilton, and Jim and Ene Guinn of Morrilton; twin sister, Jessica Guinn of Conway; aunt and uncle, Gary and Sherrie Dilbeck of Morrilton; uncles Tom Johnson and Travis Johnson; cousins Matt and Heather Stratton of Conway, and Lauren Powell of Fayetteville, and numerous other cousins.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, at the Harris Chapel with Pastor Larry Remington officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Pallbearers will be Gary Dilbeck, George Wenzel, Timothy Cooper, Colton Osborne, Taylor Higgins, and Matt Lee.
Jim McHam
James Alvin “Jim” McHam, 66, of Bee Branch, Ark., died Saturday, June 29, 2013, peacefully at home. He was born Oct. 18, 1946, at Big Springs, Texas, to Joe Frank and Gladys (Alsup) McHam.
Jim, as he was known, was a good-hearted man, he loved to garden, fish, and be with the grandkids. He was our Muffler Man for 40 years and loved it. He was also a great husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend. He always treated people right but might give them a hard time by teasing them.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Gladys Jo McHam; brother Gaither McHam; and sister Jo Ann Scroggins. Jim is survived by his wife of 30 years, Gay; son Frank and wife Melinda and their three children, two daughters, Brent and Jennifer Fulks and daughter Carrie Schwandt and three children; brother Douglas; and sister Deborah Sue Driggers; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home Chapel, Clinton, Ark. Cremation arrangements are under the care and direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Clinton.
Robert Caple
Robert Louis Caple 72, of Clinton, Arkansas died Tuesday, June 25, 2013. He was born Dec. 18, 1940, at Manning, Ark., to the late Robert Thomas and Willie Lou (Morris) Caple.
He is survived by his son and two daughters, Charlie Caple, Sherry King, and Becky Mays; one sister, Wanda Miller; and nephew Clyde Richard “Rick” Miller, and many other relatives and friends.
Cremation arrangements are under the care and direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Clinton, Ark.
Helen Story
Helen Dale Story, 86, of Clinton, Ark., went home to her Heavenly Father on Monday, June 17, 2013. She was born Feb. 11, 1927, in Clinton to the late Franklin Faith and Mattie (Elders) Stripling.
Before her decline from Alzheimers she was an active member of the Garden Club, Home Extension Club, Woodman of the World, Cattlemans Association, Van Buren County Historical Society, and Van Buren County Republican Party. She sang with the Amen Group and The Harmony Mountain Quartet. Helen was a faithful member of the Formosa Church of Christ.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 36 years, Virgil Story; two brothers, Clarence and Olen Stripling; two sisters, Essie Aschliman and Arizona Mills.
She was the loving mother of two daughters, Jo Jo Mills of Conway, Ark., and Rhonda Spann (Tado) of Oak Grove, La. She leaves four grandkids, Stephanie Gannaway, Kristy Spann, Shane Spann and Slade Spann; and seven great-grandkids, Emmerson Spann, Sophia Spann, Madalyn Spann, Grayson Gannaway, Gabrielle Gannaway, Reed Spann and Tessa Spann.
She will be missed by a host of family members, friends, neighbors, and her devoted care-givers Wauneta Smith and Jean Bell.
