Nellie Eggers
Nellie Mae Eggers, 96, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away at 11:55 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30, 2015, at her home. She was born in Woodlum, Arkansas, one of eight children to the late Thomas J. and Effie L. (Pratt) Bradberry on Aug. 5, 1918. On Jan. 5, 1940, in Dennard, Arkansas, she was united in marriage to Fred Eggers who preceded her in death on Feb. 2, 1984.
Mrs. Eggers is survived by two sons, Larry G. (Carol) Eggers of South Bend, Indiana, and Jim C. (Norma) Eggers of Puryear, Tennessee; grandchildren Steven C. (Jamie) Eggers, Craig (Tina) Eggers, David (Erin)Eggers and Michael (Brandi) Eggers; great-grandchildren, Josiah, Serria, Scott, Nathan, Trevor and twins, Kaelyn Rose and Madilyn Grace; and sister, Glenda B. Spirito of Elkhart, Indiana. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings, Selma P. Grubbs, Willie J. Bradberry, Earl A. Bradberry, James F. “Bud” Bradberry, Dean P. Bradberry, Troy L. Bradberry.
Mrs. Eggers moved to South Bend from Arkansas. She was a member of South Gate Church since 1950.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015, at Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend, IN. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn cemetery, South Bend. Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
Contributions in memory of Nellie Mae Eggers may be offered to Missions at South Gate Church, 3717 S. Michigan St. South Bend, IN 46614.

Watson Smith
Watson Irvin Smith of Shirley was born on March 11, 1913, in the Barrens Community, southeast of Clinton, and departed this life on Friday, Jan. 23, 2015. Watson was one of 12 children born to Thomas Irvin and Roxannah Jane Swafford Smith.
Watson never met a stranger and was quick to start up a conversation and rapidly discovered common ground. He enjoyed farming, animal husbandry, sports, politics and church. He had great recall for interesting events that occurred throughout his life and could entertain for hours while reminiscing.
Watson was a member of the Shirley Church of Christ. He lived a full, healthy life and was a blessing to family and friends. He was a good friend to many and always willing to lend a helping hand. He taught his family with love and deep faith in God and throughout his life continued to give words of wisdom to his family as their loving patriarch.
A graduate from Clinton High School, Watson continued his educational journey at Teachers College in Conway and the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville where he obtained his degree. He was also a member of the Civilian Conservation Core (in Damascus, Arkansas, and later Idaho). In 1939 he married his wife, Nancy Celeste Towery. Watson taught various subjects and coached sports throughout Van Buren County schools. He also began the Vocational Agriculture Department at Shirley School where he completed his career after 26 years.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Thomas and Roxannah Smith, his siblings, three at a young age, and Sarah, Odus, Brewer, Unah, Aubie, Dora, and Leister. Also preceding him in death was his wife of 73 years, Celeste Towery Smith. Watson and Celeste have three children: Thomas Gale (Mary) Smith of Hot Springs Village, Margaret (Ray) Earnhart of Shirley, and Joan (Kelly) Verble of Hot Springs. Grandchildren include Kim (Barry) Cole, Tim Smith, Melanie (Billy) Fosko, Josh (Penny) Little, Amanda (Gary) Gentry, Ashton Verble and Kelsey Verble. Great-grandchildren are Cody Morgan, Kaycee and Spencer Cole, Ryan and Reece Fosko, Nash, Hogan and Lex Little, Lainee and Macy Gentry and one great-great-grandson, Nolan Morgan. Also surviving is his brother Boyd Smith of Hooks, Texas, and many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends as well as special caretaker Alma Johnson.
Honorary Pallbearers include Boyd Smith, Winston Tucker, Smitty Bonds, Ray Dowdy and Ray Earnhart.
Pallbearers include Tim Smith, Josh Little, Kelly Verble, Larry Smith, Kenny Smith, Cody Morgan, Billy Fosko and Gary Gentry.
Visitation was Sunday, Jan. 25, 3-5 p.m. and the funeral was Monday, Jan. 26 at 2 p.m., both at Shirley Church of Christ. Interment will follow in the Eglantine cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Watson Smith Memorial Scholarship Fund at First Service Bank. Arrangements are by Olmstead Funeral Home.

Myrtle Edwards
Myrtle Lucille Edwards, 99, of Formosa, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2015. She was born July 22, 1915, in Formosa, Arkansas, to Ed and Dola (Hogue) Holloway.
She was a member of the Hickory Grove Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Dola Holloway; husband, Henry Edwards; brother, R.E. Holloway; and sister, Ruby Gordon.
Myrtle is survived by her son, Charles Edwards of Center Ridge, Arkansas; five daughters, Almyra Pruitt of Barton City, Michigan, Edna Dell Crain of Fisk, Missouri, Shirlene Nelson of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Vanessa Guinn of Center Ridge, Arkansas, and Teresa Kirkendoll of Shirley, Arkansas; 24 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; 29 great-great-grandchildren; nephew Shelby Gordon; and many close friends.
Visitation was at 1 p.m. and funeral service at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home Chapel, Clinton, Arkansas, with Pastor James Schremp officiating. Burial was in Halbrook cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Clinton, Arkansas.

Zula Nicholson
Zula Mae Ward Nicholson, 73, of Clinton, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015. She was born June 30, 1941, at Morrilton, Arkansas, to William and Lena (Wafford) Ward.
Zula married the love of her life, James Alford Nicholson on May 2, 1958. She leaves behind daughter, Cynthia (Mitchell) Hullum, son Steven (Leann) Nicholson; two brothers; three sisters; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Funeral was 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home Chapel, Clinton. Burial in Culpepper cemetery.

Olga Crownover
Olga Fullerton Crownover of Little Rock passed away after a lengthy illness in Bryant, Arkansas, on Jan. 22, 2015. Born in Formosa, Arkansas, to Ben H. and Ocie Martin Fullerton, she received her teaching certificate from Arkansas State Teachers College in Conway. She married Wendell M. Crownover and they moved to Little Rock in 1946. They enjoyed 43 years of marriage prior to Mr. Crownover’s death in 1989. Mrs. Crownover retired as a teacher at the Sixth and Izard Day School at age 70 and was a longtime member of the 6th and Izard church of Christ (now Windsong ). She loved her family, camping and Razorback sports. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; infant daughter, Shirley; brother, Lowell Fullerton and sister, Juanita Fullerton.
She is survived by her son Rodney Crownover and his wife Brenda of Benton, Arkansas; two grandsons, Kris Crownover and Ben Crownover of Benton; two sisters, Pat Wagner and her husband Dale of Springfield, Missouri, and Donna Goodrich and her husband Don of Cave Cit, Arkansas. She is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation was Sunday, Jan. 25, from 2-4 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Healy and Roth Funeral Home in Little Rock. Funeral services were 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 26, at with funeral home with John Gipson officiating. Burial followed at Quattlebaum cemetery in Bee Branch at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Windsong Church of Christ or the American Diabetes Association.
The family would like to express sincere appreciation to Dr. Scott Brown and her caregivers at Fox Ridge Estates and at Stagecoach Rehab and Nursing Center in Bryant for their loving care.

Robert Johnson
Robert L. Johnson, 80, former employee of Hawker Beechcraft, passed away Jan. 20, 2015. Robert was born Sept. 1, 1934, in Damascus, Arkansas. He was retired from the CWII Army Reserve 368 finance division. He is survived by his sisters, Reba (Johnson) Shelby of Fall Branch, Tennessee, and Marvelle (Johnson) Davis of Albuquerque, New Mexica; children, Susan (Gayle) Johnson of Wichita, Elton Johnson and Tara (Schraeder) Johnson of Grand Prairie, Texas, Lisa (Johnson) Wharton of Arlington, Texas; many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews. Graveside service was 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Donations in lieu of flowers can be sent to Wounded Warriors Project of St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Linda Turner
Linda Turner, 68, of Bee Branch passed from this life on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015. She was born Friday, Sept. 6, 1946, in Helena, Arkansas, to the late Kirby Blair and Myrtle Deaton Blair.
Survivors include her son William Igou and wife Anita of Bee Branch; brothers Ronnie Blair and wife Tasha of Helena, Gene Blair and wife Sandra of Guy; sister Judy Ballard and husband Chris of Kansas; and granddaughter Hannah “Precious Angel” Igou. Other survivors include uncles Joe Deaton of Helena and Roy Deaton of Texas, along with a host of extended family and special friends.
Graveside service was 10 a.m. Saturday Jan. 17, 2015, at Bee Branch cemetery with Rev. Darlene Robison officiating. Arrangements by Bishop-Crites Funeral Home of Greenbrier (501) 679-4400.

Robert Treece
Robert Marion Treece, 40, of Shirley, Arkansas, passed away Friday, Jan. 16, 2015, at his home. He was born on Sept. 27, 1974, in Heber Springs, Arkansas.
He is survived by his mother, Delories Haney of Shirley; two daughters, Emily Treece and Ciara Treece of Greers Ferry, Arkansas; one son, Dylan Treece of Vilonia, Arkansas; one brother, Bill (Martha) Treece of Omaha, Arkansas; two sisters, Marcy Treece Eubanks of Vilonia, Arkansas, Tina (Dale) Harris of Enola, Arkansas; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family. He is preceded in death by his father Hubert Treece, and grandparents Nobe Oscoa and Elizabeth Treece and Marion and Martha Cox.
Pallbearers: John Keeling, Bill James, Billy Treece, Donald Delk, Chris Treece and John Swafford.
Honorary Pallbearers: David Delk, John West, Bobby Blair, Carlos Still, Cody Donaldson, Dale Harris and Corey McDonald.
Visitation was Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015, at Shady Grove Baptist Church. Funeral service was 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015, at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Pastors Alan Rolen and Larry Duncan officiating. Burial was in Treece Family cemetery, Dodd Mountain Road, Shirley, Arkansas. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Clinton.

Deloise Posey
Deloise Posey, 77, of Shirley, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015. She was born Sept. 28, 1937, in Malvern, Arkansas, to Rufes and Effie (Ray) Jones.
She graduated from Malvern High School in 1955. She was a homemaker. She also worked in child care for 25-plus years. It was not just a job; she loved the children as if they were her own and enthusiastically pouring her nurturing love and patient teaching method into the molding of each child that she came in contact with. She enjoyed gardening, spending time with family and friends, and the most important to her, she had a strong committed faith in Jesus Christ her Savior.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Billy Jones and Elbert Jones, and sisters Martha (Jones) Wallace and Mary (Jones) Roach. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Otis Posey; sons Daniel Posey and Timothy Posey; daughter Karen Posey; brothers Charles Jones of Lono, Arkansas, David Jones of Malvern, Arkansas, Roger Jones of Rolla, Arkansas, and Richard Jones of Malvern, Arkansas; many nieces and nephews, and more friends than can be counted.
Pallbearers: Walt Petersen, Desmond Champagne, Randy Hazlewood, Lynn Lasley, Josh Azar and John Swofford.
Honorary Pallbearers: Bob Hensley and Robert Johnson.
Visitation was Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015, and funeral service was 10 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home Chapel, Clinton, Arkansas. Burial was in Lono cemetery, Malvern, Arkansas. Funeral arrangements under the care and direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Clinton, Arkansas.

Gary Newman
Gary Lee Newman, 39 years old, of Clinton, Arkansas, died Jan. 10, 2015. He went to Shirley High School.
He is survived by his parents, Mickey and Shirley Newman; a sister, Tami Sauer of Friendswood, Texas; a brother, Jeff Newman of Clinton; and five nieces, Samantha, Cecilia and Savannah Sauer of Friendswood, Texas, and Kailey and Rebecca Newman of Clinton.
Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, at Roller McNutt Chapel, Clinton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local hospice program.
