Bobby Lee Reynolds

73 a resident of Fayetteville, Arkansas, passed away October 3, 2010 in Graceville, Florida. He was born March 24, 1937 in Wesley, Arkansas, the son of Floyd Henry and Dovie Cleo Watkins Reynolds.

Bobby was a member of the Mt. Comfort Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma G. Reynolds.

Survivors include one son, Michael Reynolds and his wife, Sharise of Wylie, Texas and one daughter, Natalie Johnson and her husband, Tadd of Ashford, Alabama; three grandchildren. Nicholas Johnson of Ashford, Alabama, Chelsie Kipp of Colorado and Brittany Deller of Wylie, Texas.

The family will receive friends, Wednesday, October 6, 2010 from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, October 7, 2010 - 10:00 A.M. at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove, Arkansas. Interment will be in Sharp cemetery in Prairie Grove, Arkansas, there will be no graveside services held at the cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Prairie Grove, Arkansas.

Maurine A. May

96 a resident of Prairie Grove, Arkansas passed away October 9, 2010 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was born September 27, 1914 in Salina, Kansas.

The daughter of Edward and Della Hicks Bennett.

Survivors include one son Kurt Conrad of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; one daughter, Kay Beebe of Ashville, North Carolina; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Prairie Grove, Arkansas.

MARY DEAN MAGRUDER GIBSON

MACON – Mary Dean Magruder Gibson, 98, died Monday, October 11, 2010 in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, October 18, 2010 at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue with the Rev. Ron Holland officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 21, 2010 in Prairie Grove cemetery, Prairie Grove, AR.

Mrs. Gibson, wife of the late Liford Leroy Gibson, was born in Prairie Grove, AR the daughter of the late Robert Wilson Magruder and Priscilla Dean Magruder. She earned her BA Degree in teaching at the University of Arkansas and taught in Prairie Grove, Fayetteville, Pulaski County and Pine Bluff schools in Arkansas, as well as, in the Sam Barth School for Boys Private School, New Orleans, LA, in the Caddo Parish System, Shreveport, LA and in the Baltimore County, MD school system. In June 1980, Mrs. Gibson retired from the Bibb County Georgia School System – T. D. Tinsley Elementary School receiving the McKibben Lane Award in 1975. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Honorary Society, Pi Lambda Theta Honorary Society, a lifetime member of the Georgia State Retired Teacher, Bibb County Retired Teachers.

Mrs. Gibson was a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, the Marquette and Joliett Chapter No. 29 of Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, the Daughters of the American Revolution where she served as Chapter Registrar for more than twelve years, the Nathaniel Macon Chapter of the Daughters of the Revolution, the Daughters of the American Colonists Major William Horton Chapter. She was also a member of Magna Charta Dames – National Society, the most Noble Order of the Garter (Knights of the Garter) and Colonial Order of the Crown (Charlemagne). Mrs. Gibson was a member of the American Clan Gregor Society – a direct descendant of Alexander Magruder, Immigrant.

Mrs. Gibson was a member of the Christian Church – Disciples of Christ, Vineville Avenue and over the years had been active in the life of the church. During retirement, the Gibsons researched family history and contributed copies to libraries in Arkansas, Texas, Tennessee and Virginia.

Mrs. Gibson was outstanding in many fields, especially education. Her special love was teaching children to read, without which she fully believed they would be handicapped for life. She was the perfect example of a genteel, southern lady and her many talents and accomplishments were and are still respected by all who knew her.

Some of her surviving relatives include Anne Swanson Brown of Washington, DC, Jerry Morris of Bixby, OK and Jim Bell of Huntsville, AL. Special friends who survive are Kitty and Pat Pullen, Fran Williams, Nona Cohen and Shirley Booze.

Her family and friends want to thanks all those who assisted in her care and comfort during her time at John Wesley Villas, Coliseum Northside Hospital and Heartland Hospice.

Earline Spear

88, a resident of Lincoln, Arkansas, passed away September 25, 2010 at the home of her son in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. She was born August 26, 1922 near Marlow, Oklahoma, the daughter of Alvin and Jesse Kilgore Brown.

Earline's parents moved their family to Lincoln, Arkansas, in 1938. Earline married Alva Spear on October 27, 1939 in her senior year of high school at Lincoln High.

She worked in a grocery store in her younger days and retired from Franklin Electric in Siloam Springs after working there eighteen years.

Earline was a faithful member of the Summers Missionary Baptist Church where members and friends recently honored her and her close friend, Lois Norvell, with a birthday party for their 88th and 92nd birthdays, respectively.

She was preceded in death by her parents, all six of her siblings, and her husband, Alva, of 63 years.

Earline was a Proverbs 31 Woman. "Her children arise up and call her blessed...”

Alva and Earline were blessed with three sons: Randall Spear and his wife, Anna, of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; David Spear and his wife, Karen, of Sutton, Alaska; and Dennis Spear and his wife, Twyla, of Lincoln, Arkansas; seven grandchildren: Randy, John, Mandy, Marc, Justin, Dana and Jessica; and twelve great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends, Sunday afternoon, September 26, from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove.

Funeral Service will be held Monday, September 27, 2010 - 2:00 p.m. at the Summers Missionary Baptist Church in Summers, Arkansas, with Paul and Jeremy Young officiating. Interment will be in the Sugar Hill cemetery near Lincoln, Arkansas. There will be no graveside service.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bud Cox, Bert Padgett, Les Pinkerton, Scott Ramsey, Carl Brown, Lois Norvell, Rosalie Glidewell, Jay Norton, George Schooler, Aubrey Cuzick and Raymond Jackson.

Memorials may be made to Gideons International or to Summers Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Prairie Grove, Arkansas.

Donna Jean Higginbotham

65 a resident of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, went to be with her Lord on October 13, 2010 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was born April 17, 1945 in Lincoln, Arkansas, the daughter of John Donald and Maebelle Wright Kirk.

She was a volunteer with Prairie Grove Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts for many years. She was an LPN and worked at both Washington Regional and the Area Agency on Aging.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frankie D. Higginbotham and her father.

Survivors include one son and daughter in law, Dewayne and Agena Higginbotham of Cabot, Arkansas; one daughter and son in law, Frankie and David Rhudy daughter, Frankie Rhudy of Paxton, Illinois; her mother, Maebelle Kirk of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; one brother and sister in law, Robert and Doris Kirk of Enid, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Keryn Higginbotham, Robert K. Higginbotham, Genni Higginbotham, William Rhudy, Kayleigh Rhudy and Reba Rhudy.

In Lieu of flowers family ask that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society 3291 S Thompson Suite D1 Springdale, Arkansas 72764.

Lynna Dale Copeland

69, of Fayetteville died Friday October 1, 2010 in Fayetteville. She was born March 14, 1941 in Salinas, California, the daughter of Jack and Reba Payne Tunnell.

She worked as a Practical Nurse for Circle of Life Hospice and attended Christian Life Cathedral.

She was preceded in death by parents and sister, Anita Thompson.

She is survived by her daughter, Kerrie Brady of Lincoln; 3 sons, Jimmy Smith of Prairie Grove, Billy Smith of West Fork and Michael Smith of Fayetteville; several grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; 2- sisters, Carole Stone of Fayetteville and Judy Hawley of Siloam Springs; several nieces and nephews.

Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Beard’s Funeral Chapel of Fayetteville.

Henry “Hank” Arthur McCleland

age 66, died October 16th, 2010, in Fayetteville. He was born November 15th, 1943, in Clovis, California, the eldest son of Oscar and Winnie McCleland. Early in life, Hank found his niche in the construction industry. He was a drywall contractor by trade and homebuilder in his spare time. He refurbished, designed and built many custom homes throughout his lifetime for his family to live in. Deer hunting was a favorite pastime and Hank preferred the serenity his Horton Crossbow allowed him, versus rifle hunting. Gardening was also a passion. He was a master gardener, producing a surplus of vegetables he shared with family and friends. Recently, he acquired the knowledge of home canning and had just finished a batch of apple butter. Hank was a loving husband for forty-eight years. He loved his children and grandchildren and took pride in their accomplishments.

He is survived by his wife, Linda McCleland, of Prairie Grove, three daughters, Bobbi Boller and Jamie Porter of Farmington, Sandy Silva of Elkins, and four grandchildren, He is also survived by his father, Oscar Dale McCleland, 3 brothers and 6 sisters.

Memorial services will be held at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Prairie Grove at 6:00 pm, Thursday, October 21st.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Prairie Grove, Arkansas.
