Mrs. Irene Kirkland
Mrs. Irene Kirkland, 89, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2001 at Crittenden Memorial Hospital in West Memphis.
Mrs. Kirkland was a charter member of Central Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
She was the widow of Lee Kirkland.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Aaron of Marked Tree and Linda Wamble of West Memphis; one son, Jim Kirkland of Pace, Fla.; two sisters, Dorothy Mc Carty of Trumann and Inez Lee of Paradise, Texas; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 10, at Central Baptist Church with Bro. Chad Stoddard officiating.
Burial was in Tyronza Cemetery under the direction of Murphy Funeral Home.
Larry Wayne "Moondog Spot" Booker
Larry Wayne "Moondog Spot" Booker, 51, of Dyersburg died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003, at Methodist Central Hospital in Memphis.
He had been a professional wrestler for 30 years.
Survivors include five sons, Larry W. Booker, James Booker, Jody Booker and Jody Wayne Booker, all of Dyersburg, and Chris Booker of Wilson; two daughters, Angela Booker of Kingston, Tenn., and Jennifer Booker of Dyersburg; his mother, Gladys M. Vernon of Newbern, Tenn.; three sisters, Billie Runions of Dyersburg, Shirley Joyner of Newbern and Patsy Austin of Dyer, Tenn.; four brothers, Charles Booker and Stanley Booker, both of Newbern, Danny Booker of Mason Hall, Tenn., and Ricky Booker of Dyersburg; and one grandson, Christian Booker of Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lofton Booker, and a brother.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at Christ of King Church in Dyersburg, with the Rev. Clay Nash officiating.
Burial followed in Zion Hill Cemetery in Friendship, Tenn., under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home of Osceola.
Ruthie May Crawford
Ruthie May Crawford, 68, of Harrisburg died Friday, Sept. 19, 2003 at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Born in Marked Tree, she was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
There are no immediate survivors.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Virgie Mae Crawford, one brother and one sister.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 22 at Tyronza Cemetery, with the Rev. John Lindsey officiating.
Burial was held under the direction of Jackson's Harrisburg Funeral Home.
Visitation was held at the funeral home.
Ray Hugh Burks
Ray Hugh Burks, 64, of Tyronza died Friday, July 25, 2003 at his residence.
Born in Tyronza, he was a farm worker and was of the Methodist belief.
Survivors include a brother, Marion Burks of Tyronza.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruby Parrish and Brody Burks, and a brother, George "Billy" Burks.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 26 at Wilson Funeral Home of Tyronza, with Joe Sparks officiating.
Burial followed in Tyronza Cemetery.
Visitation was held at the funeral home.
Wanda Lee Raper
Wanda Lee Raper, 80, of Burlington, Iowa, formerly of Lepanto, died on June 15, 2003 in Burlington, Iowa.
A Baptist housewife born on February 24, 1923, Raper was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
Survivors include her husband, Nolan Raper of Burlington, Iowa; one son, Danny White of Burlington, Iowa; two granddaughters; two grandsons; and nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 20, 2003 at Potter Memorial Cemetery.
Murphy Funeral Home Lepanto has charge of the arrangements.
Mary Ann Wamble Burnham
Mary Ann Wamble Burnham, 58, of Yarbro, died Wednesday, May 21, 2003 at Regional Medical Center of Northeast Arkansas in Jonesboro.
Born September 24, 1944, in Blytheville, the daughter of Charles Frank and Bertha Mae Chaney, she was a lifelong area resident and a member of Yarbro Baptist Church.
She was united in marriage on April 17, 1964 to Tommy Burnham.
She devoted her life to caring for her home and family and enjoyed cooking for them.
She enjoyed collecting antiques and spending quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Her parent and one brother, William Paul Wamble, preceded her in death.
Burnham leaves her husband of 39 years, Tommy Burnham of Yarbro; two sons, Tom Burnham and his wife Lisa and Todd Burnham and his wife Pam, all of Blytheville; three brothers, Glen Wamble and Bobby Wamble, both of Germantown, Tenn. and John Wamble of Blytheville; one sister, Edna Croft of Troy, Mo.; and two grandsons, Joshua and Matthew Burnham.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, May 23, 2003 at 3:30 p.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel in Blytheville with Rev. Jimmy Russell officiating.
Burial followed in Elmwood Cemetery.
Ruby Lavern Holder
Ruby Lavern Holder, 79, of Osceola died Sunday, April 20, 2003 at the Baptist Hospital at Osceola.
Holder was a retired school cafeteria worker and a member of Bethel Church of Lord Jesus Christ.
Survivors include her husband, John Holder of Osceola; one daughter, Eva Schoepp of New Orleans, La.; two sons, Jimmy Holder and Michael Holder both of Osceola; one sister, Lena Mae Burchan of Tupelo, Miss.; two brothers, JR Brooks of Dell and Paul Brooks of Osceola; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 23, at 2 p.m. at the Bethel Church of Lord Jesus Christ.
Burial followed at the Mississippi County Memorial Gardens.
Wilson Funeral Home Osceola was in charge of the arrangements.
