Eloise Ruby Smith
Eloise Ruby Smith, 76, of Tyronza died of heart failure Dec. 3, 2001 at her residence.
A homemaker, Smith was a member of the Whitten Baptist Church in Whitton.
She is survived by her daughters: Pat Fraley of Tyronza; Brenda Slack of Tyronza; and Kathy McClure of Tyronza; one son: Lynn Smith of Wilson; two sisters: Louise Smith of Judsonia, Ark and Florain Lawson of Lepanto; and two brothers: Willie Young of Hardy, Ark and James Young of Fort Morgan, Col.
Smith is also survived by 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Smith is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Smith; and her son, Mike Smith.
Funeral services were held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Chapel at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis.
Burial followed in Tyronza Cemetery.
The family requests that a memorial, in honor of Eloise Ruby Smith, be given to the Whitten Baptist Church in Whitten.
Hershel Franklin Gray
Hershel Franklin Gray, 76, of Memphis, formerly of Tyronza, died on Friday, Sept. 19, 2003 at his residence.
A service station manager, Gray was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Bobbie L. Gray of Memphis; three sons, Jim Gray of Russellville, Ark., Dickie Gray of Memphis and Steve Gray of Marion; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 21 at the Roller-Citizens Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial followed at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion, Ark.
Carl Mallory Roberts
Funeral services for Carl Mallory Roberts, 77, of Osceola, who died Thursday, June 12, 2003 at Northwest Nursing Center in Fayetteville, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 15, 2003 in the chapel of Wilson Funeral Home of Osceola.
The Rev. Jim Roberts officiated, and burial followed in Mississippi County Memorial Gardens at Osceola.
Born in Osceola, he was a lifelong resident of Osceola, served in the Army during World War II and was retired from the Osceola Housing Authority, where he worked in maintenance for 30 years.
He was a member and board member of First Christian Church in Osceola.
Survivors include his wife, Sally Roberts of Osceola; a stepson, Charles George of Phoenix; a stepdaughter, Shirley Shields of Rogers; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held at the Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola.
LaKenya Marie Hall
LaKenya Marie Hall, 23, of Osceola, died on Wednesday, May 21, 2003 at St. Bernard's in Jonesboro.
Hall was born September 4, 1979 in Osceola, to Joyce Cannon and Carl Hall.
She worked for Fruit of the Loom in Osceola and was a resident of Mississippi County for 23 years.
She was a member of Grace Temple Baptist Church in Osceola and sang in the choir.
Survivors include her parents, Carl Hall of Luxora and Joyce Hayes of Osceola; grandparents, Pearlie Cannon and Annie Lee Smith of Luxora and James Hall of East St. Louis, Ill.; two sons, Christopher Jefferson Jr. and Tyreeke Jefferson, both of Osceola; and two brothers, Donnie Diggs and Melvin Johnson of Osceola.
Services were held on Saturday, May 24, 2003 at Grace Temple Church in Osceola with burial following at Whiteside Cemetery in Osceola.
Visitation was held.
Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola had charge of the arrangements.
Carlton Eugene "Buddy" Kent
Carlton Eugene "Buddy" Kent, 66, died Sunday, April 20, 2003, at his home in Payneway.
Born on May 15, 1936 in Mississippi County, Ark., Kent was a farmer, and an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was a board member of Marked Tree Co-Op and Payneway Water Association, a member of Stumpy Point Hunting Club and of the Baptist faith
Survivors include his wife, Flora Mae Kent of Payneway; two daughters, Diane Leach of Marked Tree and Loretta Walker of Judd Hill; eight sisters, Betty Jo Allen of Forrest City, Penny Uptmor of Texas City, Texas, Wanda Prater of West Memphis, Barbara Harris of Payneway, Pat Harris of Marked Tree, Erma Creekmore of Marked Tree, Martha Howard of Marked Tree, and Mary Morrisett of Marked Tree; one brother, Curtis Kent of Marked Tree; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 22 at 2 p.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home Chapel with Ed Fiszer officiating.
Burial followed at the Marked Tree Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Aubrey Bratton, Tommy Brashears, Tommy Gerald Thompson, Bobby Harris, W.C. Mills, Darrell Harden, Bob Bolton and honorary pallbearers included Donald Blagg, Michael Blagg, David Spitler, Gene McKinney.
Murphy Funeral Home Marked Tree had charge of the arrangements.
Becky Ann Jones
Becky Ann Jones, 47, of Trumann, died on April 8, 2003 on Hwy. 69 near Trumann.
Jones was born February 26, 1956.
She was a homemaker of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include two sons, Greg Jones of Harrisburg and James Jones of Virginia Beach, Va.; one daughter, Beckie Duncan of Lepanto; two sisters, Ruby Lee Gaddis of Tyronza and Nannie Sue Tillotson of Fair Born, Ohio; five brothers, Gordon Gaddis of Michigan City, Ind., Lee Gaddis of Tyronza, Eugene and Lowell Gaddis of Marked Tree and John Troy Gaddis of Harrison; and four grandchildren.
Services will be held on Friday, April 11, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Tyronza.
Burial will follow at the Tyronza Cemetery.
Visitation will be held today, Thursday, April 10, 2003, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Tyronza.
