Billy Ray Williamson
Billy Ray Williamson, 69, of Memphis, died on Thursday, April 17, 2003.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Row and Velma Williamson; two aunts Thelma Marbry and Pearl Smith; and one uncle, Melvin George, all of Marked Tree.
Survivors include his wife, Flora Williamson of Memphis; two daughters, Trina Anderson of Bartlett, Tenn. and Maria Swayze of Memphis; one son, Jerry Williamson of Southaven, Miss.; one brother, Frank Williamson of Southaven, Miss.; one aunt, Nellie Whitlow of Marked Tree; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held on Monday, April 21 at chapel of Family Funeral Care Funeral Home in Memphis.
Burial followed at Memory Hill Garden.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
Fred Shackelford, Jr.
Fred M. Shackelford, Jr., 73, of Memphis, died on April 3, 2003 at his home.
Born on September 5, 1929 in Osceola, Shackelford was formerly of Marked Tree.
He was a member and deacon of Ridgeway Baptist Church and a sales executive of MDR and Transcon Lines.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Alene Heard and Treva Finely.
Survivors include his wife, Beulah Shackelford of Memphis; one daughter, Elizabeth Boggs of Memphis; two sons, Fred M. Shackelford III and Matt Shackelford, both of Memphis; and nine grandchildren.
Services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2003 at the Ridgeway Baptist Church in Memphis, with Dr. Hal Fletcher officiating.
A graveside service and interment followed at 1 p.m. at the Marked Tree Cemetery.
Murphy Funeral Home, Marked Tree, had charge of the arrangements.
Suzzie Clay Michael
Suzzie Clay Michael, 48, of Jonesboro, died Sat., Sept. 28, 2002 at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
A homemaker, Michael was a member of Friendly Hope Baptist Church in Jonesboro, where she was in charge of Senior Citizens Programs for several years.
She also was a former church secretary and attended school in Lepanto.
She is survived by her husband, Hancel Michael of Jonesboro; her mother, Alice Clay of Trumann, one son, Keith Michael of Jonesboro, a daughter-in-law, Susanne Michael of Jonesboro, two sisters, Doris Radloff of Dickeyville, Wisc., Shirley Kausler of Harrisburg, four brothers, James "Jimmy" Clay of Lexington, Md., Gorden Clay of Trumann, Ronnie Clay of Rivervale and Donald Clay of Rivervale.
Michael is also survived by a granddaughter, Sara Michael of Jonesboro.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Rivervale Baptist Church, with Jerry Kausler officiating.
Burial followed at Potter Memorial Cemetery, with David Kausler, Dave Radloff, Richard Radloff, Michael Radloff, James Pierce and Wayne Fires serving as pallbearers.
Murphy Funeral Home in Lepanto had charge of the arrangements.

Carolyn Faye Kirkpatrick
Carolyn Faye Kirkpatrick, 44, of Marked Tree died September 7, 2002 at her residence.
A crane operator and of the Pentecostal faith, she is survived by her mother, Bonnie Franks of Marked Tree, Eunice and Dorothy Stapler of Grant, AL; one son, Anthony Parnell of Whitton; four daughters, Barbara Vernon of Dell, Christy Hughes of Half Moon, Judy Taylor of Turrell, Sherry Stapler of Turrell; three sisters, Barbara Wicker of Berrien Springs, Mich., Margaret Gilson Benton of Harbor, Mich., Shirley Sharp of Marked Tree; one half-sister, Brenda Franks of Cave City; five step-sisters, Connie Jewell of Westland, Mich., Bev Snyder of Plymouth, Mich., Wanda Draughn of Jacksonville, Fla., Linda Johns of Northville, Mich and Brenda Gambreal of Wayne, Mich.; four brothers, Henry Stapler of Marked Tree, Kenneth Stapler of Turrell, Larry Stapler of Grant, Ark., William Stapler of Grant, Ark.; one half-brother, Bro. Thomas Franks of Marked Tree; three step-brothers, Roger Chapman of Indianapolis, Ind., Andy Reynolds of Indianapolis, Ind. and Richard Chapman of Grant, Ark.
Kirkpatrick is also survived by six grandchildren.
Services were held Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola, with Rev. Chris Smithey officiating.
Burial followed at Ermen Lane Cemetery in Osceola.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.
Opal McAfee
Opal McAfee, 71, of Marked Tree died May 30, 2002 at her residence in Marked Tree.
She was a member of New Life Community Church, a homemaker and the widow of Willie W. McAfee.
The funeral was June 1 at New Life Community Church.
Jim Duffel officiated the ceremony.
Place of interment was at Marked Tree Cemetery.
She is survived by one daughter, Loretta Pollard of Marked Tree; one brother, Jesse V. Harris of Three Oaks, Mich. and one granddaughter, Skye Pollard of Marked Tree.
Lee Thomas "L.T." Smith
Lee Thomas "L.T." Smith, 79, of Trumann died Tuesday, July 29, 2003 at St. Bernard's Medical Center.
Born in Weona, he was an Army veteran and had lived in Trumann before moving to Memphis in 1967.
He was an Army veteran and was retired from Fred's Dollar Store.
He returned to Trumann in 1996 and was a member of Melton Avenue Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Presley Smith of the home; three sons, Paul Smith of Trumann and Gary Smith and Phillip Smith, both of Memphis; three sisters, Retha Oldman of Marked Tree and Readie Brooks and Geraldine Glidewell, both of Trumann; a brother, Cecil Smith of Trumann; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ester Thorne Smith.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann, with Landon Hope, Nolan Glover and Ronnie Benson officiating.
A private burial has been planned in Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Penter, Jackie Teague, Orville Martin, Donald Presley, Buford Presley and George Presley.
Visitation was held at the funeral home.
