Bobby Alsup
Mr. Bobby Alsup, age 63, of Palestine, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, at the Baptist East Hospital in Memphis.
Mr. Alsup was born Feb. 17, 1937, in Palestine and was the son of Bob Alsup and Florence Dover Alsup. He lived in Palestine most of his life and was retired from Yale Industries and also attended the Palestine Church of Christ.
Mr. Alsup is survived by two sons, Bobby G. "Bo" Alsup of Caldwell and Darrell Alsup of Colt; two daughters, Peggy Hickman of Summerfield, Fla. and Penny Sullins of Palestine; a brother, Duke Alsup of Palestine; two sisters, Helen Lowe and Joann Messer, both of North Carolina and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Robin Nicole Humes.
Visitation for Mr. Alsup will be held Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001, at 3 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home with burial following in Marrs Hill Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Ethel B. Brown
Mrs. Ethel B. Brown, age 68, of Forrest City, died Friday, Sept. 21, 2001, at Beverly Health Care in West Memphis.
Mrs. Brown was born July 4, 1933, in Forrest City. She was a retired housekeeper.
Mrs. Brown is survived by her father, Willie Brown of Forrest City; two sons, Billy Brown and Pernell Brown, both of Forrest City; a daughter, Gloria Ross of Garland, Texas; a brother, Vergil Haymer of Forrest City; two sisters, Willie Mae Holland of Forrest City and Mae Bryant of Springfield, Mo.; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation for Mrs. Brown will be held Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2001, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Clay Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001, at 11 a.m., at Beth Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Oscar Jones officiating the service. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery under the direction of Clay Funeral Home.

Helen Steidley Callaway
Mrs. Helen Steidley Callaway, age 93, of Forrest City, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2001, at her home.
Mrs. Callaway was born Nov. 20, 1907 in Barr, Ill and was the daughter of Lee Roy Steidley and Lucy Hinckle Steidley. She graduated from Forrest City High School and attended the University of Central Arkansas and the University of Memphis. She taught for several years in Heth. Mrs. Callaway was a member and active in Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church, a member of the Musical Coterie.
Mrs. Callawy was preceded in death by her husband, Duke Callaway in 1977.
She is survived by a daughter, Elsie Guthrie of Forrest City and a son, Gil Callaway of Chevy Chase, Md. and five grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Callaway will be Monday, Sept. 3, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001, at 10 a.m., at Stevens Funeral Home with Rev. Harry Young officiating the service. Burial will follow in Forrest Park Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church.

Ella Louise Reagler Cohen
Mrs. Ella Louise Reagler Cohen, age 85, of Forrest City, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2001, in Memphis.
Mrs. Cohen was the daughter of Morris Reagler and Rae Zucker Reagler. She was a retired entrepreneur and a member of the Baron Hirsch Synagogue and Temple Israel. She was also a member of a number of civic and social groups such as the Forrest City Garden Club, the Cosmos Club, the Encore Club, the General Federation of Womens Clubs, the Musical Coterie of Forrest City, the Baron Hirsch Ladies Auxiliary and the Jewish Womens International.
Mrs. Cohen was preceded in death by her husband Max Cohen and is survived by a daughter, Debra Cohen Kozuch of Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y.; a son, Barry Cohen of Plano, Texas; a sister, Mildred R. Rubens of West Memphis; a brother, David Reagler of Wynne; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Cohen were held Sunday, Sept. 2, 2001, at Sam Abraham Chapel in Memphis with burial following in Baron Hirsch Cemetery under the direction of Gan Aden Funeral Home.
The family requests that memorials be sent to the charity of one's choice.

Jerry Eugene McCutchen
Mr. Jerry Eugene McCutchen, age 72, of West Memphis, died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2001, at Beverly Health Care in West Memphis.
Mr. McCutchen was a retired electrician, a 32nd Degree Mason member of West Memphis Lodge 737 and Marion Lodge 686 and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Beauton McCutchen of West Memphis; three daughters, Charlotte Comfort of West Memphis, Melodie Roedel of Newburgh, Ind. and Hope Carroll of Paradise, Ind.; one son, Jim McCutchen of West Memphis; one sister, Mildred Arwood of Forrest City; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. McCutchen were held today, Monday, Sept. 3, 2001, at 1 p.m., at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home and burial followed in Crittenden Memorial Park Cemetery in Marion.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation.

Annie Rea McLaughlin
Mrs. Annie Rea McLaughlin, age 86, of Walnut Ridge, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001, at her home.
Mrs. McLaughlin was born June 10, 1915 in McNairy County, Tenn. She was a retired factory worker, a homemaker and a was a member of First Baptist Church.
Mrs. McLaughlin was preceded in death by her husband, Ansel Tillmon McLaughlin.
She is survived by five daughters, Jo Ann Joiner of Little Rock, Eva Tucker and Linda Eddings, both of Heber Springs, Lois Hourland of West Memphis and Rebecca Logan of Forrest City; four sons, Wayne McLaughlin of Walnut Ridge, James McLaughlin of Heber Springs, Jerry McLaughlin of West Memphis and Michael McLaughlin of Crawfordsville; two sisters, Katherine Haynes of Hot Springs and Madge Baker of Germantown, Tenn.; 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. McLaughlin were held Saturday, Sept. 1, 2001, at the First Baptist Church of Lepanto with Rev. Jim Duffel officiating the service. Burial followed in Potter Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Murphy Funeral Homes, Inc. in Lepanto.

Danny F. Nicholas
Mr. Danny F. Nicholas, age 56, of Forrest City, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.
Mr. Nicholas was born Feb. 27, 1945 in Forrest City and was the son of Harold F. Nicholas and Edna Gilbert Nicholas Munn. He lived in Colt and Forrest City most of his life and was a truck driver, a veteran of the National Guard. Mr. Nicholas was also a member of the Moose Lodge and a Methodist.
Mr. Nicholas is survived by his wife, Carolyn McCoy Nicholas; two daughters, Tammy Nicholas of Forrest City and Susan Nicholas McCoy of Center Ridge; his mother, Edna Nicholas Munn of Colt; two brothers, Harold Nicholas of Lexington, Mo. and David Nicholas of Booneville, Mo. and one sister, Sandra Nicholas Turner of Grand Prairie, Texas.
Visitation for Mr. Nicholas will be held Monday, Sept. 3, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mr. Nicholas on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001, at 11 a.m., at Forrest Park Cemetery with Stevens Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
The family request memorials to be made to one's choice in lieu of flowers.

Janelle Taylor
Ms. Janelle Taylor, age 78, of Madison, died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2001, at her home.
Ms. Taylor was born Dec. 26, 1922, in Madison and was the daughter of Mitchell Taylor and Opal Butler Taylor. She lived in Madison all of her life and was a member of the Madison Methodist Church.
She is survived by three sisters, Dorothy Leopard, Elizabeth Taylor, both of Madison and June Fetzer of Forrest City.
Visitation for Ms. Taylor will be held Monday, Sept. 3, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001, at 2 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home with burial following in Forrest Park Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Madison Methodist Church.

Odell Clark
Mrs. Odell Clark, age 84, of West Memphis, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001, at Crittenden Memorial Hospital in West Memphis.
Mrs. Clark was a homemaker and a member of Beautiful Zion M.B. Church where she was on the mothers board and a pastor's aide.
She is survived by five daughters, Annie Ruth Clark, Mary Ann Lewis and Vanessa Parker, all of West Memphis, Janice Martin of Chicago, Ill. and Mary Clark Neal of Forrest City; four sons, Harold Clark, Delester Nicholas and Maurice Nicholas, all of West Memphis and Willie Earl Melton of Chicago, Ill; two sisters, Willie Ann Winfrey of Chicago, Ill. and Christine Facin of Memphis; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Clark will be held Friday, Sept. 28, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001, at 11 a.m., at Beautiful Zion M.B. Church. Burial will follow in Paradise Garden in Edmondson under the direction of Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home, Inc.
