Isaac Charles (I.C.) Spearman
Mr. Isaac Charles (I.C.) Spearman, age 57, of Memphis, died Friday, Aug. 9, 2002, at the MED in Memphis.
Mr. Spearman, born May 30, 1945, in Round Pond, was the son of Isom Spearman and Mae Tillman Spearman. He is survived by his wife, Callie Kimble Spearman of Forrest City; a daughter, Catina McGowan of Forrest City; a son, Patrick Spearman of Forrest City; seven sisters, Evelyn Greer and Armadale Spearman, both of Memphis, Lovil Moore and Mae Rine Bandy, both of Detroit, Mich., Lovil Anderson and Marilyn Childers, both of Newport and Ethel Tripp of Chicago, Ill.; two brothers, Odell Spearman of Forrest City and Jerry Spearman of Newport and three grandchildren.
Visitation services for Mr. Spearman will be held Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2002, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Chapel of Woodhouse Mortuary. Funeral services for Mr. Spearman will be held Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, at 1 p.m. at Rising Sun M.B. Church with Rev. John Strong officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery under the direction of Woodhouse Mortuary.

Audrey Shirley Penna
Mrs. Audrey Shirley Penna, age 67, of Forrest City, died Monday, Aug. 12, 2002, in Odessa, Texas.
Mrs. Penna was born Dec. 27, 1934, in Marvell, the daughter of Lawrence and Albirta Crisp. She made her home in Forrest City for most of her life, worked at Harvest Foods and was a Baptist.
Mrs. Penna is survived by four daughters, Kathy Ford of Jonesboro, Gail Ross of Ridgeland, Miss., Ginger White of Forrest City and Christy Dawson of Odessa, Texas; six grandchildren and two grandchildren. Mrs. Penna was preceded in death by two daughters, Janet Penna and Sandra Renee Blankenship, and one son, James Manuel Penna.
Visitation for Mrs. Penna will be held Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 16, 2002 at 11:30 a.m. at Stevens Funeral Home with Rev. James Dean officiating. Burial will follow in Forrest Park Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

John Duncan Henley IV
Mr. John Duncan Henley IV, age 52, died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002 at his home in Gulf Breeze, Fla.
Memorial services for Mr. Henley will be held on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002 at his motel in Pensacola Beach, Fla.

Arlene Knox
Mrs. Arlene Knox, age 76, of Colt, died Friday, Aug. 9.
Mrs. Knox is survived by her husband, Tom Knox; one son, Rufth Hill of Little Rock; one step-son, Tommy Knox Sr. of Wynne; 10 step-daughters, Ruby James, Cathy Wilson, Bobbie Moore and Gracie Gardner all of Wynne, Mary Pearson, Vivian Brue, Rose Cole, Linda Merrill, Joyce Hollis and Stella Walls all of Chicago, Ill.; five sisters, Velma Knox Haynes of Colt, Rose Ann Davis of Palestine, Mary Hill of Little Rock, Addie Mae Scott of Calif., Ellen Brace of Detroit, Mich.; four brothers, Whiscus Walker of Indianapolis, Ind., Jimmie Walker Jr. of Harrisburg, Rufth Walker of Bellvue, Mich., Andrew Walker of St. Paul, Minn.; 30 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Knox will be Friday, Aug. 16, 2002 at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel from 4 to 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002 at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Colt with Rev. Connie Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Clark Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Wynne.

James Snell
Mr. James Snell, age 74, of Forrest City, died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, at his home.
Mr. Snell was born Feb. 16, 1928, in Marked Tree, the son of George W. Snell and Gracie George Snell. Mr. Snell lived in Forrest City for the past 15 years and was a heavy equipment mechanic.
Mr. Snell married Marcella Thompson in 1952 and she survives him along with four daughters, Carroll Jacobs of Long Star, Texas, Melony Oates of Jonesboro, Kelly Sorter of Winnfield, La. and Lanie Havanic of Plant City, Fla.; one son, Kassidy Stewart of Forrest City; two sisters, Theopal Hillis and Verona Snell both of Forrest City; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Snell will be held Friday, Aug. 2, 2002, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mr. Snell will be held Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002 at 2 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church. The family requests memorials be made to the Bethel Baptist Church. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.

Roy 'Bill' Wilford Lesley
Mr. Roy 'Bill' Wilford Lesley, age 73, of Forrest City, died Monday, Aug. 19, 2002 at his home.
Mr. Lesley was born May 5, 1929 in Nettleton, Miss., the son of Jack Andrew Lesley and Flora Ray Lesley. Mr. Lesley lived in Forrest City most of his life, was a farmer and a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Mr. Lesley married Jannie Brown in 1979, and she survives him along with one brother, Carl Lesley of Augusta, Kan.
Visitation services for Mr. Lesley will be held Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2002 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 22, 2002 at Bethel Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Forrest Park Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home. The family requests memorials be made to the Bethel Baptist Church.

Edward E. Cross
Mr. Edward E. Cross, age 37, of Forrest City, died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-East in Memphis.
Mr. Cross was born Nov. 15, 1964 in Marianna. He was a 1983 graduate of Forrest City High School and a shipping foreman with Forrest City Grocery.
Mr. Cross is survived by his mother, Ever Lue Cross of Forrest City; a daughter, Kristin Kaya Cross of Forrest City; four brothers, Levell Cross of Chicago, Ill., Lamar Bailey and Roy Lee Bailey both of St. Louis, Mo., Willie A. Cross of Forrest City; and one sister, Emma J. Cross Bell of Chicago, Ill.
Visitation for Mr. Cross will be held on Wednesday, Aug., 21, 2002 at Clay Funeral Home from 2 to 5 p.m. Services will be held Thursday, Aug. 22, 2002 at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Living God with Rev. M.T. Dedner officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery, under the direction of Clay Funeral Home.

Emogene Reeves Millard
Mrs. Emogene Reeves Millard, age 63, of Forrest City, died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock.
Mrs. Millard, born June 15, 1939, in Haynes, was the daughter of Square Reeves and Hannah Hurst Reeves. She was a 1956 graduate of Lincoln High School and a retiree of Sanyo Manufacturing where she was employed for 36 years.
In 1966 Mrs. Millard married James E. Millard and he survives her along with her mother; five daughters, Wilma Hull of Jonesboro, Cecelia Gatling of Clarksdale, Hannah Dozier of Little Rock, Pattie Miller of Honolulu, Hawaii and Audrey May of East Chicago, Ind.; a son, Rodney Sain of Forrest City; three sisters, Billie Bryant of St. Louis, Mo., and Barbara Evansingston and Jimmie Prince, both of Forrest City; three brothers, Harold Reeves of Virginia, Willard Reeves of East Chicago, Ind. and Wilbert Reeves of St. Louis, Mo.; several grandchildren and a host of other relatives.
Visitation services for Mrs. Millard will be held Thursday, Aug. 21, 2002, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Woodhouse Mortuary and on Friday, Aug. 22, 2002, at Rising Sun M.B. Church from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Funeral services for Mrs. Millard will be held Friday, Aug. 22, 2002, at 11 a.m. at Rising Sun M.B. Church with Rev. John Strong officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery under the direction of Woodhouse Mortuary.

Rosie Lee Hicks
Miss Rosie Lee Hicks, age 82, of Madison, died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Forrest City.
Miss Hicks, a retired farmer, was born Jan. 15, 1920, in Grady. She is survived by two sons, Booker Edwards of Madison and T.C. Edwards of Hillcrest Heights, Md.; a daughter, Bobbie Marshall of St. Louis, Mo.; three sisters, JoAnn Starks, Mary Ann Starks and Ludie Pearl Collins, all of Memphis; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation services for Miss Hicks will be held Friday, Aug. 23, 2002, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Clay Funeral Home. Funeral services for Miss Hicks will be held Saturday, Aug. 24, 2002, at Cornerstone M.B. Church in Madison at 11 a.m. with Rev. Leon Sims officiating. Burial will follow in Forrest City Cemetery.

Henrietta Jones Malone
Mrs. Henrietta Jones Malone, age 50, of Forrest City, died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2002, at her home.
Mrs. Malone, born March 9, 1952, in Forrest City, was the daughter of McKinley Jones Sr. and Willie Mae Henry Jones. She was a 1970 graduate of Lincoln High School.
Mrs. Malone is survived by her husband, O.D. Malone of Memphis; a daughter, Patrice Logan of Forrest City; two sons, Eric Jones and Demond Jones, both of Forrest City; five sisters, Carrie Fleming of Minneapolis, Minn., Elise Jones, Helen Massey, Gloria Jones and Barbara Jones, all of Chicago, Ill.; five brothers, McKinley Jones II of Memphis, L.C. Jones of Chicago, Ill., Overtis Jones and Robert Jones, both of Forrest City and Floyd Jones of Conway; five grandchildren and a host of other relatives.
Visitation services for Mrs. Malone will be held Friday, Aug. 23, 2002, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Woodhouse Mortuary. Funeral services for Mrs. Malone will be held Saturday, Aug. 24, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Rising Sun M.B. Church with Rev. James Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery under the direction of Woodhouse Mortuary.

Lillie Mae Ryan
Mrs. Lillie Mae Ryan, age 92, of Forrest City, died Friday, Aug. 23, 2002, at her home.
Mrs. Ryan was born Aug. 23, 1910, in Parkin, the daughter of Lindsey Poe and Ida Hearn. Mrs. Ryan lived in Forrest City all of her life, was a housewife and member of the Second Baptist Church.
Mrs. Ryan married W.L. "Dick" Ryan in 1936 and he preceded her in death in 1976. Mrs. Ryan is survived by two daughters, Robbie Sue Manley and Delores Turner both, of Forrest City, four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Ryan will be Saturday, Aug. 24, 2002, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Services will be Sunday, Aug. 25, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home with Rev. Bud Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Forrest Park Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
