Steven Wayne Bryant
Mr. Steven Wayne Bryant, age 38, of Wynne, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, in Albuquerque, N.M.
Mr. Bryant was born Oct. 29, 1963, in Forrest City and was the son of Cleo and Mary Janice Bryant of Wynne. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Forrest City, and he was a roofer.
Mr. Bryant is survived by his parents; a daughter, Summer Young of Marianna; a son, Steven Bryant of Wynne; a sister, Debbie Vaughn of Wynne and two brothers, Larry Bryant of Marianna and Gary Bryant of Memphis.
Visitation for Mr. Bryant will be held Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Morgan Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mr. Bryant will be conducted on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002, at 2 p.m., at Morgan Funeral Home with Bro. Ken Walls officiating the service. Burial will follow at Hughes Cemetery under the direction of Morgan Funeral Home.
Bertha "Bo" French
Mrs. Bertha "Bo" French, age 90, of Goodwin, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at Crestpark Nursing Home in Forrest City.
Mrs. French was born June 29, 1911, in Blackton, and was the daughter of Charles Pitts and Bessie Blankenship Pitts. She was a housewife and a member of the Goodwin Baptist Church.
Mrs. French married Everett French in 1940, and he preceded her in death in 1982.
She is survived by a brother, Elmer Pitts of West Memphis and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mrs. French will be held Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002, from 12:30 to 2 p.m., at Goodwin Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with burial following in Salem Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
Ronald "Ron" Gene May
Mr. Ronald "Ron" Gene May, age 39, formerly of Forrest City, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, in Camden.
Mr. May was born May 21, 1962, in Forrest City, and was the son of James Davis May and Patsy Ruth White May.
He is survived by one brother, John Allen May of Forrest City; two sisters, Lisa May of Benton and Ramona Broadway of Omaha; and his grandmother, Worda Bradford of Forrest City.
Visitation for Mr. May will be held Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Morgan Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Jan. 11, 2002, at 10 a.m., at Morgan Chapel Funeral Home, with Bro. Allen Jumper officiating. Burial will follow at Hughes Cemetery under the direction of Morgan Funeral Home.
Robert Thorn Sr.
Mr. Robert Thorn, Sr., age 79, of Palestine, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002, at Crestpark Retirement Inn in Forrest City.
Mr. Thorn was born May 10, 1922, in Possum, was a retired farmer and was a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Thorn of Palestine; one son, Robert Thorn, Jr. of Colt; one brother, John Thorn of Illinois; one sister, Lula Mae Grimes of Illinois; and two grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Thorn will be Friday, Jan. 11, 2002, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Clay Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted for Mr. Thorn on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002, at 1 p.m., at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. James Brown officiating the service. Burial will follow in Stanley Grove Cemetery in Caldwell, under the direction of Clay Funeral Home.
Andrew "Blackie" Black
Mr. Andrew "Blackie" Black, age 88, of Forrest City, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.
Mr. Black, born May 13, in Lexa, was the son of Bill Black and Alice Fisher. He is survived by a host of cousins.
Visitation services for Mr. Black will be held Friday, Feb. 22, 2002, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Chapel of Woodhouse Mortuary. Funeral services for Mr. Black will be held Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002, at 2:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Woodhouse Mortuary with Rev. Bruce Murray officiating the service. Burial will follow in Scott Bond Cemetery under the direction of Woodhouse Mortuary.
Patricia Washington Dailey
Mrs. Patricia Washington Dailey, age 41, of Forrest City, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002, at Baptist Hospital East in Memphis.
Mrs. Dailey, born Aug. 23, 1960, in Forrest City, was the daughter of Boylee Hamilton Sr. and Alise Washington. She was a 1978 graduate of Forrest City High School and was employed by East Arkansas Youth Services.
Mrs. Dailey is survived by her husband, Anthony C. Dailey of Forrest City; her mother; two daughters, Maya K. Dailey of Forrest City, and LaTasha Dailey of Youngstown, Ohio; a son, Antonio Dailey of Forrest City; three sisters, Unice Green and Constance Wright, both of Jonesboro and Vanessa Spearman of Norfolk, Va.; three brothers, Boylee Hamilton Jr., of Minneapolis, Minn., Michael Hamilton of Brenham, Texas, Boylee Hamilton III, of Little Rock and her grandmother, Henrietta Ware of Forrest City.
Funeral services for Mrs. Dailey will be held Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002, at 10 a.m. at Rising Sun M.B. Church with Rev. John Strong officiating. Burial will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, at 11 a.m. in West Tennessee Cemetery under the direction of Woodhouse Mortuary.

Baby Girl Houston, born Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at the Elvis Presley Regional Trauma Center in Memphis.
Houston, is survived by her parents, Randell Dawson of Forrest City and Angel Houston of Caldwell.
Graveside funeral services for Baby Girl Houston were held Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, at Stanley Grove Cemetery in Colt under the direction of Clay Funeral Home.
Jewel McDonald Sr.
Mr. Jewel McDonald Sr., age 67, of Forrest City, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital.
Mr. McDonald, born Dec. 28, 1934, in Colt, was a retired truck driver.
He is survived by his wife, Rosetta McDonald of Forrest City; three sons, Uellis McDonald of California, Jewel McDonald Jr. of Wynne and Dwayne McDonald of Forrest City; two daughters, Versie Lee Dugger of Houston, Texas and Jackie McDonald of Forrest City; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Gloria J. Smith
Mrs. Gloria J. Smith, age 48, of Little Rock, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, at St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center in Little Rock.
Mrs. Smith, born May 5, 1953, in Palestine, was an accountant with Southwestern Bell.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, Jesse Smith Sr. of Little Rock; a son, Jesse Smith Jr. of Little Rock; two daughters, Rolysha Lewis and Kenisha Smith, both of Little Rock; a brother, Johnny Stidum Jr. of Palestine; three sisters, Ida Mae Terrell of Brinkley; Bettye Rooks of Memphis and Vernell Stidum of Little Rock; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be held Friday, Feb. 22, 2002, at 11 a.m. at St. Luke A.M.E. Church with Rev. E.J. Outley officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery under the direction of Clay Funeral Home.
Ann Heskett Hale
Mrs. Ann Heskett Hale, age 70, of Wynne, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Mrs. Hale, born Dec. 22, 1931, in Elaine, was the daughter of John Thomas Heskett Sr. and Thelma Heskett. She was a homemaker and a member of Union Avenue Baptist Church in Wynne.
Mrs. Hale was preceded in death by husbands, John Harcourt in 1951 and James Hale in 2000; and a brother, John Thomas Heskett Jr.
She is survived by two sons, John Hale of Wynne and Tom Hale of Neosho, Mo.; a daughter, Kathy Killingsworth of Coloma, Mich.; a brother John Phillips Heskett of Roxboro, N.C.; a sister, Betty Heskett Bryant of Searcy; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 18, 2002, from 6 to 8 p.m., in the chapel of Kernodle Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mrs. Hale will be held Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002, at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Kernodle Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Dean Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Cogbill Cemetery under the direction of Kernodle Funeral Home.
Cecil L. Key Sr.
Mr. Cecil E. Key Sr., age 78, of Longview, Texas, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, at his residence.
Mr. Key was born Oct. 29, 1923, in Forrest City, and was the son of Ocie and Maudie Key. He had been a resident of Longview since 1988, was an auto parts salesman for many years, served in the U.S. Air Force in India, and was a lifetime member of the V.F.W.
Mr. Key is survived by his wife, Barbara Nelle Busby Key; three sons, Cecil Key Jr. of Falls Church, Va., Mark Key of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Kevin Key of Denton, Texas; one daughter, Treva Key of Longview; six sisters, Dora McMickel and Margie Key, both of Forrest City, Nell Hobson of Hext, Texas, Audrey Hobson of Kerrville, Texas, Elizabeth Riley of Carson City, Nev. and Margaret Gunter of Jonesboro; and four grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Key will be held Friday, Jan. 11, 2002, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Lakeview Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002, at 10 a.m., at Lakeview Funeral Home, with Mr. Joe Crenshaw officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens, under the direction of Lakeview Funeral Home.
