Franciel Clay
Mrs. Franciel Clay, 89, of Forrest City, died Monday, July 17, 2000, in her home.
Mrs. Clay was born Dec. 14, 1910, in Greenfield, Miss.
She is survived by five daughters, Irene Veasley and Joeda Brown, of Forrest City, Juanita Hamilton and Theria Jordan, both of Hot Springs; six sons, Raymond Crawford, of Forrest City, Frank B. Crawford, Freddie Crawford, Billy People, and Henry People, all of Hot Springs; 25 grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, July 21, 2000, at Woodhouse Mortuary, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m and a wake will follow from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 22, 2000, at 10 a.m. at Rising Sun M. B. Church with Rev. John Strong officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery under the direction of Woodhouse Mortuary.

Ora Jean Hilliard
Mrs. Ora Jean Hilliard, 42, of Forrest City, died Saturday, July 15, 2000, at the University of Arkansas Medical Science Hospital.
Mrs. Hilliard was born, July, 23, 1957, in Hughes to Theodis Moore and Mattie Duncan Moore.
She is survived by her husband, Bennie Hilliard, Jr., of Forrest City; four daughters, Kathy Hilliard, Shieta Hilliard, Marcella Hilliard and Yolanda Hilliard, all of Forrest City; four sons, Bennie Hilliard III, Eric Hilliard, Christopher Hilliard and Francico Hilliard, all of Forrest City; four sisters, Shirley Childers, of Memphis, Willie Mae Moore, Mattie Moore and Patricia Walker, of Forrest City; two brothers, Theodis Moore, Jr., of Memphis, and Willie James Moore, of Turrell.
Visitation will be Friday, July 21, 2000, at Woodhouse Mortuary from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 22, 2000, at 1 p.m. at Jerusalem M. B. Church with Rev. Floyd Billups officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery under the direction of Woodhouse Mortuary.

Earlie Williams
Mr. Earlie Williams, 83, of Forrest City, died Friday, July 14, 2000, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.
Mr. Williams was born Feb. 4, 1917, in Forrest City, to George Williams and Rosie L. Williams. Mr. Williams was a veteran of the Army and a retired farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Essie Lee Williams, of Forrest City; four sons, Kenneth Williams, of Flint, Mich., David Williams, of Little Rock, Sterling Williams, of San Jose, Calif., and Albert Burnside, of Ohio; one daughter, Murla Sloan, of Jackson, Tenn.; two brothers, Leroy Williams and Floyd Williams, both of Forrest City; three sisters, Lola Johnson and Dollie Bonner, both of Forrest City, Ruby Jones, of St. Louis, Mo.; 48 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, July 21, 2000, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Clay Funeral Home Services will be Saturday, July 22, 2000, at Taylor's Chapel CME Church at 1 p.m. officiated by Rev. Jesse Brown. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery under the direction of Clay Funeral Home.

Megan Danyell Arnold
Megan Danyell Arnold, age 14, of Hughes, died Wednesday, July 19, 2000, at Camp Smokey in Sevierville, Tenn.
Ms. Arnold was a student at Lee Academy in Marianna, a member of Hughes First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the church choir and a First Baptist Youth.
She is survived by her parents, Don and Jody Arnold, of Hughes; a sister, Hannah Arnold, of Hughes; and grandparents, Dan and Josephine Fesperman, of Brickeys and Guy and Shirley Arnold of Hughes.
Visitation will be Friday, July 21, 2000, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 22, 2000, at 11 a.m. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Crittenden memorial Park in Marion under the direction of Roller-Citizens Funeral Home.

Charlie V. Gray
Charley V. Gray, age 90, of Cabot, died Thursday, July 20, 2000.
Mrs. Gray was a homemaker and member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Mrs. Gray was preceded in death by her parents, Charley and Ida Huffman; her husband, Joe Lee Gray; and two sons, Jessie Lee Gray and Theo Gray.
Mrs. Gray is survived by three sons, Berlin Gray, of Cabot, Johnny Gray, of Forrest City, and Kenneth Gray, of Stockton, Calif.; six daughters, Addie Childress, of Memphis, Evie Bramel, of Moro, Shirley Linder, of Lafayette, Ind., Peggy Paulsen, of Cabot, Barbara Mason, of Atoka, Tenn., and Frankie Griffin, of Keller, Texas; 29 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, July 22, 2000, at 10 a.m., at Bethel Baptist Church , with Dr. Thom South officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. at Loughridge Cemetery in Colt under the direction of Cabot Funeral Home.

J.V. Sitzes
J. V. Sitzes, age 72, of Forrest City, died Thursday, July 20, 2000, at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.
Mr. Sitzes was a member of the Abundant Life Worship Center.
He is survived by three sons, Jack Sitzes, of Conway, Jerry Sitzes and Timothy Sitzes, both of Forrest City; a daughter, Sharon Owens, of Whitney, Texas; three brothers, Arnold Sitzes, of Byhalia, Miss., Mearl Sitzes, of Southaven, Miss., Dearl Sitzes, of Palestine; three sisters, Maledine Simpson, of Wynne, Joyce Avery, of Arlington, Tenn., Darlene Olive, of Bartlett, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, July 21, 2000, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Morgan Chapel. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 22, 2000, at 2 p.m. at Morgan Chapel with Bro. John Morris officiating.
Burial will follow at Salem Methodist Church Cemetery near Palestine under the direction of Morgan Funeral Home.

Betty Joyce Smith
Betty Joyce Smith, age 70, of Palestine, died Thursday, July 20, 2000, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.
Mrs. Smith was born May 2, 1930, in Cordova, Ala., to Paul Johnston and Edith Marie Coffman Howren. She lived in Palestine for the past 30 years, was a housewife and a member of the Twin Assembly of God Church in Palestine.
She married Wilburn Smith in 1948 and he preceded her in death in 1980 along with a half brother, Wesley Howren who preceded her in death in 1995.
She is survived by a daughter, Peggy Joyce Smith, of Forrest City; her mother; and a half sister, Nettie Lou Graham, of O'Fallon, Mo.
Visitation will be Friday, July 21, 2000, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be graveside, Saturday, July 22, 2000, at 10 a.m. at Bell Cemetery. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Harold Eugene Butler, Sr.
Mr. Harold Eugene Butler, Sr., 73, of Palestine, died Saturday, July 22, 2000, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.
Born Feb. 25, 1927, Butler was the son of Marion Butler and Alma Culver Butler. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was retired from Yale Hoists in Forrest City.
Mr. Butler was preceded in death by a son, Lee Butler and is survived by four sons, Harold Butler, Jr., of Mississippi, Russell Butler, of Cherry Valley, and Johnny Butler and Larry Butler, both of Indiana; four daughters, Pamela Phillips, of North Carolina, Debbie Dean, of Mississippi, Wanda Davis, of Wynne and Mary Butler, of Palestine; one brother, Bob Butler, of Mississippi; two sisters, Mona Klein, of Florida and Jerri Ellis, of Alabama; 20 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Butler were Monday, July 24, 2000, at 10 a.m. at Morgan Chapel with Rev. Ray Dean Davis officiating. Burial followed at Bell Cemetery, near Palestine, under the direction of Morgan Funeral Home.

Thomas Gene Wade
Mr. Thomas Gene Wade, 43, formerly of Forrest City, died last week in Bossier City, La.
Mr. Wade was born Sept. 15, 1956, in Forrest City, and was the son of Vernon Olen Wade and Dorothy Dearrington Wade. He lived in Forrest City before moving to Louisiana in 1985, and was a retired security guard.
Mr. Wade is survived by his mother; seven brothers, Jerry Wade, Gary Wade, and Steve Dye, all of Forrest City, Donald Wade, of Little Rock, Vernon Wade, of Wynne, and Roger Lee and Stacy Dye, both of Heber Springs; and one sister, Patsy Johnson, of Unpire.
Graveside services for Mr. Wade were held Sunday, July 23, 2000, at 2 p.m. at Loughridge Cemetery in Colt. Stevens Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Frank Boyd
Frank Boyd, age 55, of Forrest City, formerly of Hughes, died Thursday, July 20, 2000, at his home.
Mr. Boyd is survived by his wife, Amy Boyd, of Forrest City; his father, Governor Boyd, of Heth; his mother, Lucinda Johnson, of Forest City; three sons, Carl Boyd, of Forrest City, Frankie Boyd and Jody Boyd, of Memphis; two daughters, Deborah Scott, of Forrest City, Samantha Jones, of California; three sisters, Veronia Boyd, of Forrest City, Ester Rose and Allonia Boyd, both of Fayetteville; four brothers, Governor Boyd, of Wynne, Terry Boyd, of Fayetteville, Arthur Gilliard, of Chicago, Ill., Lonnie Boyd, of Philadelphia, Penn.; and eight grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Boyd will be Thursday, July 27, 2000, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Spiritual #1 Protestant Church in Forrest City. Services will be Friday, July 28, 2000, at 2:30 p.m. at the Spiritual #1 Protstant Church. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Widener under the direction of Anthony Funeral Home South.
