Shirley Mae Busby Hoots
Mrs. Shirley Mae Busby Hoots, age 61, of Caldwell, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, at the Baptist East Hospital in Memphis.
Mrs. Hoots was born on Jan., 5, 1939, in Colt and was the daughter of Dewitt Busby and Rosie Mae Britton Busby. She lived in St. Francis County most of her life, was a housewife, and a member of the Caldwell Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hoots married Larry Hoots in 1955, and he survives her along with three sons, Ricky hoots, of Palestine, Barry Hoots, Gary Hoots, both of Caldwell; three sisters, Carolyn Dulancy, of Homa, La., Lady Gilmer, Wanda Speer, both of Colt; five brothers, Bud Busby, Pat Busby, both of Palestine, Ted Busby, of Forrest City, Dewitt Busby, Johnny Busby, both of Colt; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Hoots will be Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Stevens Funeral Home, with burial following in Forrest Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 21, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., with Stevens Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
The family ask that all memorials be made to Caldwell Baptist Church.

Susie Williams
Mrs. Susie Williams, age 91, of Hughes, died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000, at the Crittenden Memorial Hospital in West Memphis.
Mrs. Williams was born Jan. 12, 1909, in Mississippi, and was the daughter of John and Lena Hickman. She lived in the Hughes area most of her life and was a housewife.
Mrs. Williams was married to James Lloyd Willliams in 1940, and he preceded her in death in 1972, along with a daughter, Frances Marie Pistal, who preceded her in 1979. She is survived by two sons, Mr. Robert T. Bickerstaff, of North Little Rock, Carl V. Bickerstaff, of Hughes; four grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Williams will be held Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, at 2 p.m., in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home with burial following in Forrest Park Cemetery. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Darlene Jones Long
Mrs. Darlene Jones Long, age 62, of Mountainburg, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, at her home.
Mrs. Long, born July 1, 1938, in Palestine, was the daughter of Paul and Blanche Jones. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
In 1960 she married Carl Long and he preceded her in death in 1996. She is survived by four sons, Bruce Long, of Mulberry, Danny Long, Eddie Long, both of Mountainburg, Sam Long, of Palestine; five sisters, Joyce Long, Shirley Carriger, both of Forrest City, Lou Fuller, of Manchester, Tenn., Goldie Dickerson, of Palestine, Sandy Hembree, of Hot Springs; three brothers, Jack Jones, Donnie Jones, of Palestine, Mike Jones, of Starkville, Miss.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Long will be Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Smith Funeral Home in Charleston.

Helen M. Hughes
Mrs. Helen M. Hughes, age 89, of Haynes, died at her home on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000.
Mrs. Hughes was born on Feb. 15, 1911, in Marianna. She was the daughter of Joseph Smith and Lucy Vaughn Smith. She had made her home in Haynes most of her life, where she was a housewife and a member of the Haynes Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hughes married W.J. Hughes Sr., in 1944 and he preceded her in death in 1965. She is survived by one son, W.J. Hughes Jr., of Haynes; a daughter, Betty Davidson, of Marvell; two sisters, Moline Bland, Louise Russon, both of Shreveport, La.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hughes were 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, at Stevens Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene Craig officiating. Burial followed in Forrest Park Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Annie Lou Widby
Mrs. Annie Lou Widby, age 63, of Forrest City, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, at White County Medical Center in Searcy.
Mrs. Widby, born April 13, 1937, was the daughter of Richard Lee Roberts and May Douglas Roberts. She was a retired employee of Reltoc, where she spent 36 years. She was also a member of Forrest City Church of God.
Mrs. Widby was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ray Widby, in 1996. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Headley, of Searcy; a son, Richard Widby, of Forrest City and four grandchildren.
Visitation services for Mrs. Widby will be Thursday, Nov. 23, 2000, in the Chapel of Morgan Funeral Home from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday, Nov. 24, 2000, at 11 a.m. at Morgan Chapel with Rev. Chelch Reagan officiating. Burial will follow at Forrest Park Cemetery under the direction of Morgan Funeral Home.

Edith Madge Fritzler
Mrs. Edith Madge Fritzler, age 80, of Marianna, died Monday, Nov. 27, at Baptist Hospital East in Memphis.
Mrs. Fritzler was born on May 17, 1920. She was the daughter of John Wallace and Clara Kaiser Wallace. Mrs. Fritzler was a Baptist and a member of the Midway Baptist Church in Palestine.
She is survived by her husband, Ed Fritzler, of the home, three sons, Charles Elledge of Nashville, Billy Elledge, Rufus Elledge, both of Arizona; two daughters, Doris Stauffer of Oklahoma, Betty Hart of Marianna; a brother, Johnnie Wallace of Paragould; 15 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Fritzler will be Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000, at 10 a.m. at Morgan Chapel with Bro. Ken Walls officiating. Burial will follow at Bell Cemetery under the direction of Morgan Funeral Home.

Sharon Rose Hazen
Mrs. Sharon Rose Hazen, age 49, of Wynne, died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2000, at Cross Ridge Hospital in Wynne.
Mrs. Hazen was born on Aug. 15, 1951, in Moro. She was the daughter of Willie Swearengin and Lou Ella Davis Swearengin. Mrs. Hazen was a certified nurse's aide and a member of the Rolfe Chapel Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her husband, James Hazen of the home; one son, William Swearengin of Florida; one daughter, Rhonda Vibbert of Florida; two brothers, Murray Swearengin of Colorado, Bill Swearengin of Forrest City; two sisters, Delores Hinton of Hunter, Gracie Denton of Wynne and three grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Hazen will be Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Morgan Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000, at 2 p.m., at the Brinkley Assembly of God Church with Bro. Donnie Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Brinkley. Morgan Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Elmer George Meyerpeter
Mr. Elmer George Meyerpeter, age 83, of Forrest City, died Monday, Nov. 27, 2000, in St. Peters, Mo.
Mr. Meyerpeter was born on March 26, 1917, in St. Louis, Mo., and was the son of Cornelius Bernard Meyerpeter and Margarette Ignasiak Meyerpeter. He lived in St. Louis before moving to Forrest City, was a chauffeur and police officer, and a member of the Landmark Baptist Church.
Mr. Meyerpeter married Virginia Mae Dearrington in 1940, and she survives him along with one son, J.W. Meyerpeter of Missouri; one daughter, Margaret Swaims of Texas; seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Meyerpeter will be Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Stevens Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Forrest Park Cemetery. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Arbella Jones
Mrs. Arbella Jones, age 77, of Forrest City, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, in her home.
Mrs. Jones, born Dec. 14, 1922, in Oakland, Miss., was a retired housekeeper. She is survived by a brother, Floyd Sayles, of Hernando, Miss. and four sisters, Vennie Mae Young, of Proctor, Willie Mae White, of Collierville, Tenn., Minnie Ownes, of Cleveland, Ohio, and Inell Armstrong, of Brinkley.
Visitation for Mrs. Jones will be Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Clay Funeral Home and Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, at 2 p.m. at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church with Rev. Lee Hampton Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Paradise Garden Cemetery under the direction of Clay Funeral Home.

Herman Kidd
Mr. Herman Kidd, age 63, of Forrest City, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000, in his home.
Mr. Kidd, born May 30, 1937, in Haynes, was a retired engineer. He is survived by a daughter, Pamela Hines, of Chicago, Ill.; two brothers, James Kidd, of Dallas, Texas, Joe C. Kidd, of Chicago, Ill.; two sisters, Lula Mae Wade, of Haynes, Luella Jackson, of Chicago; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Kidd will be Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Chapel of Clay Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mr. Kidd are scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, at Spring Grove Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery under the direction of Clay Funeral Home.

Lula Mae Smith
Mrs. Lula Mae Smith, age 71, of Forrest City, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2000, at Crittenden Memorial Hospital in West Memphis.
Mrs. Smith was a homemaker.
She is survived by three daughters, Viola Miller, of Forrest City, Barbara Johnson, of Tulsa, Okla., Shirley Blair, of Luxora; three sons, Eddie Walter Jr., of North Little Rock, Auther Smith, Melvin Smith, both of Luxora; six sisters, Bernice Lay, of Widener, Leola Patton, of Goodwin, Easter Garrett, of Marianna, Brenda Hicks, of Goodwin, Willie Taylor, of Marianna, Mildred Harris, of Forrest City; four brothers, Willie Bogard, of Palestine, Wesley Bogard, of Marianna, Andrew Bogard, of Rochester, N.Y., Authur Bogard, of Forrest City; 23 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Smith will be Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Kennedy Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, at 2 p.m., at the Church of God on North Division Street. Bro. Timothy Forrest will be officiating, with burial to follow at Goodwin Cemetery. Kennedy Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
