Eddie White
Eddie White, 76, of Hughes, died Saturday, Aug. 21, 1999, at home.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita White, of the home; three daughters, Catherine Miller of Jacksonville, Roberta White of Hughes and Linda Kadalak of Fayetteville, N.C.; six sons, Jesse White, Charles Jones and Tommy Lee White, all of Hughes, David White of Forrest City and Joe White of Dallas, Texas; four sisters, Mariah Grant of Los Angeles, Calif., Lula Mae Driver and Mamie Yarbrough of Hughes and Daisy Williams of Chicago, Ill.; one brother, Lonnie White of Chicago; 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 27, 1999, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Chapel in Anthonyville. Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, 1999, at the Rising Sun MB Church in Hughes with burial to follow at Paradise Garden.

Harold C. Middleton
Harold C. Middleton, 56, died Sunday, Aug. 29, 1999, at home.
He was a former truck driver.
Survivors include his step-father, Oliver Williford of Forrest City; two sons, Mike Middleton of Marianna and Eddie Middleton of Wynne; one daughter, Tina Middleton of Truman and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be at the funeral home between 6 and 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 30, 1999. Services will be held grave side at Forrest Park Cemetery at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, 1999, with Rev. Gary Chapman officiating. Morgan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mary M. McCown
Mary M. McCown, age 90, of Clearwater, Fla., died Friday, Oct. 29, 1999, in the Life Care Center of Ocala, Florida.
Mrs. McCown was born in Huntington, Tenn., before moving to Hughes. She had been a resident of Clearwater, Fla., since 1955. She was a member of the Hercules Church of Christ of Clearwater and was awarded the Oldest Worker Award in Pinellas County in 1998.
Mrs. McCown is survived by a daughter, Frances Self of Ocala, Fla.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Hiers Belleview Funeral Home of Belleview, Fla., was in charge of arrangements.

Sandra Kay Mitts Severe
Sandra Kay Mitts Severe, age 44, of Brinkley, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999, in Charlotte, Ark.
She was an active member of the Wheatley Baptist Church, a member of the Brinkley Gideon Auxiliary, the Brinkley PTA, the Band Boosters Club and the WMU.
She is survived by her parents Charles and Goldie Mitts of Sulpher Rock; her husband Don Severe; one daughter, Cassandra; four sisters, Reva Langley and Vickie Rollins of Jonesboro, Sherrie Cooper of Hardy and Linda Crigler of Sulpher Rock.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, at 10 a.m. at Wheatley Baptist Church with Rev. Bob McGraw, Rev. Cain Wheeler and Rev. Joe Johnson officiating. Graveside services will be held the same day at 3 p.m. at the Shamrock Lane Community Cemetery in Charlotte. Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Bob Neal & Sons Funeral Home in Brinkley.

Wendy Richardson Harris
Mrs. Wendy Richardson Harris, age 43, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City, after a long illness.
Mrs. Harris was born Dec. 9, 1955, to Eugene Richardson and Marylene Camp Richardson. She was a member of Moro Full Gospel Church of God and a housewife.
She is survived by her mother Marylene Camp Richardson of Moro; a brother, Christopher Richardson of Moro; two sister, Wanda Watkins of Gill and Kimberly Parson of Palestine and two sons, Joshua Honeycutt and Billy "B.J." Harris, both of Moro.
Funeral services are scheduled at 2, Thursday, Nov. 11, at the Full Gospel Church of God in Moro with Brother Bobby Watkins officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Moro under the direction of Morgan Funeral Home.

Tommie Dortch
Mr. Tommie Dortch, aged 77, of Palestine, died Thursday, Nov. 9, 1999, at Methodist Hospital in Memphis.
He was born May 5, 1922, in Cotton Plant and was a builder.
Mr. Dortch is survived by four sons, Tommie Dortch Jr. and Virgil Dortch of Evanston, Ill., Eugene Dortch of Palestine and Stevie Nickleberry of Madison; six daughters, Doris Bryant of Los Angeles, Calif., Bertha Lee Dortch of Inglewood, Calif., Queen Elizabeth Burks and Margaret Burton of Chicago, Willa Austin of Little Rock and Barbara Majeed of Fayetteville, Ga.; three brothers, Clifton Dortch, Charles Dortch and Avant Dortch, all of Chicago, Ill.; four sisters, Fannie Bell Hampton and Ruby Coburn of Chicago, and Margaret Radcliff and Rosette Reese of Cleveland, Ohio; 17 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. today (Friday, Nov. 12) at Clay Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 13, at 2 p.m. at Lane Chapel CME Church with the Rev. Wiliford Banks officiating. Burial will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery under the direction of Clay Funeral Home.

Lillie Mae Gwathney Hurt
Mrs. Lillie Mae Gwathney Hurt, aged 91, of Palestine, died at Crestpark Retirement Inn of Forrest City on Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999. She had been in poor health the past month.
She was born Feb. 4, 1908, in St. Francis County, the daughter of Will Gwathney and Dove Reeves Gwathney. She had made her home in Palestine all her life. She was a housewife and a member of the Twin Assembly of God Church in Palestine.
In 1924 she married Hubert Hurt, who preceded her in death in 1988. She is survived by a daughter, Rita Jayroe of Palestine; two sons, Dr. C.H. Hurt of Henderson, Texas, and Ray Hurt of Palestine; a sister, Geraldine Myers of Memphis; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Karola Mae Hurt and Theresa Luker.
Visitation will be held Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hurt will be held at Stevens Funeral Home in Forrest City on Saturday,Nov. 13 at 2 p.m., with Bro. C.C. Hodges and Bro. Lee Whitley officiating. Burial will follow at Bell Cemetery. Family requests that memorials be made to Bell Cemetery.

Gracie Lee Saxton
Funeral services for Gracie Lee Saxton, aged 60, will be held Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999, at 2 p.m. at the New Light M.B. Church, 140 Day St. in Forrest City.
Marianna Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

John Ursery
Mr. John Ursery, aged 73, of Forrest City, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Central in Memphis.
He was born Sept. 4, 1926, in Widener and was a retired farmer.
Mr. Ursery is survived by his wife, Juanita Ursery of Forrest City; his mother, Mattie Mae Ursery of St. Louis, Mo.; two sons, Otis Ursery of South Bend, Ind., and Terry King of Milwaukee, Wis.; seven daughters, Jeanie Fluelen of South Bend, Ruby Jean Ursery of Forrest City, Earnestine McNeeley of Dallas, Texas, Earline Joshua of Hughes, and Floria Jean Curne, Doris Jean Ursery and Anita Ursery of Forrest City; 11 brothers, T.J. Ursery and James Ursery Jr. of Forrest City, Jimmie Lee Ursery of California, A.D. Ursery of Detroit, Mich., Theodis Ursery of St. Louis, Mo., J.C. Ursery of South Bend, Robert Ursery of St. Louis, Leon Ursery of Miami, Fla., Willie Ursery and Sylvester Ursery of St. Louis and Charman Ursery of California; two sisters, Margie Lee Love and Myrtle Ursery of St. Louis; 26 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Clay Funeral Home today (Friday, Nov. 12) from 3-5 p.m. Funeral services will be at Salem Baptist Church on Saturday, Nov. 13 at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Marland Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery, under the direction of Clay Funeral Home.

Connor J. Grady, Jr.
Connor J. Grady, Jr. died, Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999.
Mr. Grady was born Dec. 13, 1938 to Connor and Mildred Grady. He was a graduate of Hampton Institute and worked as a building contractor and brick masonry teacher. He was employed as the Lee County Building Inspector and Code Enforcement Officer at the time of his death.
Mr. Grady was a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and a life long member of St. Luke AME Church.
Mr. Grady is survived by his wife Wanda Grady; a daughter, Donna Creer of Little Rock; a son, Connor Grady of Austin, Texas; a sister, Bethena of Cheverly, Md., and a grandson.
Visitation was Sunday, from 4-6 p.m. at Kennedy Funeral Home. The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. today at St. Luke AME Church with Pastor Carroll Anderson officiating.
