Allie Roe Lasater
Mrs. Allie Roe Lasater, age 86, of Forrest City, died Sunday, April 22, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.
Mrs. Lasater was born Sept. 22, 1914, in Newark and was the daughter of Adrian C. Marshall and Minnie Barber Marshall. She lived in Forrest City most of her life. Mrs. Lasater was a beautician and a member of the First United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Lasater in 1964 and Mrs. Lasater is survived by two brothers, Clyde Marshall of Dayton, Ohio and Claude Marshall of Newark and two sisters, Dorothy McCormick and Betty Durham, both of California.
Visitation for Mrs. Lasater will be Tuesday, April 24, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 25, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Forrest Park Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Carrie Louise Smith Oxner
Mrs. Carrie Louise Smith Oxner, age 80, of Marianna, died Sunday, April 22, 2001, at her home.
Mrs. Oxner, a homemaker, was born January 23, 1921, in Oak Forrest, to John Robert Smith and Nettie Pearl Womble. Mrs. Oxner was a Methodist.
Mrs. Oxner is survived by her husband, Clentis Oxner of Marianna; three daughters, Carolyn Skinner of Bradford, Eugenia Boals of Rondo and Patsy Richart of Forrest City; a son, Harvey Oxner of Hot Springs; three sisters, Virginia Russell of Helena, Herschell Allen and Sugar Jones, both of Marianna; two brothers, Roland Smith and Wayne Smith both of Marianna; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Oxner were held graveside, today, Tuesday, April 24, 2001, at Marianna Memorial Park with Rev. Austin Hamilton officiating under the direction of Roller-Citizens Funeral Home of Marianna.

Micah Caleb Clarkson
Micah Caleb Clarkson, aged five days, of Holly Srings, Miss., died Tuesday, April 24, 2001, at Baptist Hospital East in Memphis.
He was born April 19, 2001, in Memphis, the son of Mike Clarkson and Connie Tatum Clarkson of Holly Springs.
He is survived by his parents; three sisters, Christa Clarkson, Candice Clarkson and Cara Leigh Clarkson, all of Holly Springs; grandparents Kenneth and Rebecca Tatum of Forrest City and Troy and Doris Clarkson of Colt; a great-grandmother, Margaret Cox of Forrest City. He was preceded in death by a sister, Carlei Rebecca Clarkson.
Graveside services will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery in Holly Springs on Thursday, April 26, 2001, at 11 a.m., with Dr. Curtis Farrell officiating. Holly Springs Funeral Home is in charge.
Memorials may be sent to the First Baptist Church of Holly Springs.

Johnnie W. Taylor
Mr. Johnnie W. Taylor, age 87, of Forrest City, died Tuesday, April 25, 2001, at the U.T. Bowld Hospital in Memphis.
Mr. Taylor, born April 27, 1913, in Alabama, was the son of James L. Taylor and Evie Porter Taylor. He was a farmer and a member of Widener Baptist Church and lived in Forrest City most of his life.
In 1931, Mr. Taylor married Eva Christy, and she preceded him in death in 1976. In 1978, he married Alma Busby, and she preceded him in death in 1992. He is survived by two sons, Wilburn Taylor of Millington, Tenn., and Lloyd Taylor of Forrest City; two daughters, Weaber Christian of Tennessee Ridge, Tenn. and Retha Clark of Jonesboro; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death in 1973 by a son, Gilbert Taylor.
Visitation for Mr. Taylor will be held Wednesday, April 25, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mr. Taylor will be held Thursday, April 26, 2001, at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home with burial in Hughes Cemetery. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
The family requests that memorials be sent to Widener Baptist Church.

Anna L. Williamson
Mrs. Anna L. Williamson, age 77, of Forrest City, died Tuesday, April 24, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.
Mrs. Williamson, born Dec. 20, 1923, in Springfield, the daughter of Paul Mallett and Nora Herring Mallett. She was a homemaker and a member of Forrest Hills United Methodist Church where she served as pianist and treasurer. She lived in Forrest City most of her life.
In 1946, Mrs. Williamson married Audy F. Williamson Sr., and he survives her along with a son, Frank Williamson of Forrest City; a daughter, Debi Williamson Juneau of Forrest City; two brothers, Paul Herring Mallett of Monroe, La., and John Robert Mallett of Jacksonville; two sisters, Nina Mallett Kowerduck and Helen Mallett Bostain, both of Plummerville; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Williamson in 1985.
Graveside services for Mrs. Williamson will be held Thursday, April 26, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Forrest Park Cemetery. Visitation for Mrs. Williamson will be Wednesday, April 25, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
The family requests that memorials be sent to Forrest Hills United Methodist Church.

Richard S. Henard
Mr. Richard S. Henard, age 86, of Forrest City, died Tuesday, April 24, 2001, at Cla-Clif Nursing and Rehab Center in Brinkley.
Mr. Henard was born March 17, 1915, in Zent. He was the son of James J. and Eunice Pearl Ward Henard. Mr. Henard was a retired insurance agent for Reliable Insurance Company and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific theater as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a Baptist by faith.
Mr. Henard was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Henard. He is survived by a son, Ricky Henard of Wheatley; a daughter, Fran Haynes of Forrest City; a brother, Bobby Henard of Brinkley; two sisters, Leone Wilson of Brinkley and Helen Parker of El Monte, Calif.; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Henard will be Thursday, April 26, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Fowler Funeral Home in Brinkley. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, April 27, 2001, at 10 a.m., at Fowler Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow in Johnston Cemetery in Wheatley under the direction of Fowler Funeral Home.

Loreaner Dukes Strong Patten
Mrs. Loreaner Dukes Strong Patten, age 79, of Lonoke, died Monday, April 23, 2001, at Golden Years Manor in Lonoke.
Mrs. Patten, born Dec. 18, 1921, in Humphrey, was the daughter of Bartlow and Sallie Rodgins Dukes.
Mrs. Patten is survived by eight grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elijah Patten, in 1985, and a son, John Henry Strong Sr., in 1998.
Visitation for Mrs. Patten will be held Friday, April 27, 2001, from noon to 5 p.m. in the Chapel of Woodhouse Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 28, 2001, at 11 a.m. at Macedonia M.B. Church in England with Rev. John H. Strong officiating. Burial will follow in Clear Lake Cemetery in England under the direction of Woodhouse Mortuary.

James "Porter" Ellis
Mr. James "Porter" Ellis, age 70, formerly of Pine Tree, died Monday, April 23, 2001, at his residence in Ellensburg, Wash.
Mr. Ellis, born March 7, 1931, in Colt, was the son of Edith Sulcer Ellis and the late James Olan Ellis. He was a retired carpenter and attended the Church of Christ. After moving to Washington from Pine Tree, Mr. Ellis was the owner operator of a business involving snowplowing, ditch digging and mowing.
Mr. Ellis is survived by his mother, of Pine Tree; his ex-wife LaVerne Luker Ellis of Ellensburg, Wash.; two sons, Jerry Ellis of Hinesville, Ga. and James Harold "Jim" Ellis of Ellensburg, Wash.; a daughter, Lisa Ellis Corbin of Kent, Wash.; a sister, Opal Frazier of Pine Tree; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, James H. "Buddy" Ellis.
Visitation for Mr. Ellis will be held Friday, April 27, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home in Wynne. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 28, 2001, at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home in Wynne with Bro. Rodney Eldridge and Mr. Jim Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in Barnishaw Cemetery in Pine Tree with Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home of Wynne in charge of arrangements.

Michael DeWayne Norment
Mr. Michael DeWayne Norment, age 32, of Forrest City, died Tuesday, April 24, 2001, at Oakville Health Care in Memphis.
Mr. Norment, born March 12, 1969, in Forrest City, he was the son of James Norris Sr. and Letha Thomas.
Mr. Norment is survived by three sisters, Linda Griffin of Madison, Donna Thomas of Forrest City, and Dorothy Norris of Marianna; nine brothers, L.P. Norment, Ervin Norment, Edward Norment, Harvey Norris and Charles Norris, all of Forrest City, Calvin Norment, Willie William and James Butler, all of Little Rock.
Visitation for Mr. Norment will be held Saturday April 28, 2001, from noon to 5 p.m. in the Chapel of Woodhouse Mortuary. Funeral services for Mr. Norment will be held Monday, April 30, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Days Temple with Rev. Theodis Cochran officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery under the direction of Woodhouse Mortuary.

Catherine Marie Smith
Mrs. Catherine Marie Smith, age 67 of Palestine, died Thursday, April 26, 2001.
Mrs. Smith was born Aug. 19, 1933, in Palestine, to Art and Kate Shields Shafer. She lived in Palestine most of her life where she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Palestine. Mrs. Smith was a retired employee of Sanyo Manufacturing.
She is survived by her husband, Dean Smith and a sister, Frances Rutledge of Marianna.
Visitation for Mrs. Smith will be Saturday, April 28, 2001, from 5 to 6 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Sunday, April 29, 2001, at 2 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Bell Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
