Henry "Sonny" Morris Jr.
Mr. Henry "Sonny" Morris Jr., age 78, of Greenwood, died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2001, at St. Edward's Hospital in Fort Smith.
Mr. Morris, formerly of Forrest City, was born Sept. 29, 1922, in Earle and was the son of Henry Morris Sr. and Gladys Greason Morris. He was a farmer and a service station attendant. He was also a member of the Methodist Church.
In 1992, Mr. Morris married Dorothy Smith, and she survives him along with two sisters, Geraldine Brawner of Walls, Miss. and Ruby Jean Morris of Dumas; two step-children, Carolyn Tarver of Greenwood and Bobby Shepherd of Conway and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Morris were held today, Monday, Aug. 27, 2001, at Stevens Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie Addison officiating. Burial will follow at Hughes Cemetery in Forrest City under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Carl Boyd
Mr. Carl Boyd, age 21, of Forrest City, died Friday Dec. 7, 2001, in Madison.
Mr. Boyd, born, Feb. 21, 1980, was the son of William Ingram of Ft. Wayne, Ind. and Louise Boyd of Forrest City. He was a laborer at Boar's Head Provisions.
Mr. Boyd is survived by his parents; a daughter, Kayla Boyd of Forrest City; a son, Jyland Boyd of Forrest City; five sisters, LaShunda Boyd, Teresa Lewis and Stephanie Goodman, all of Forrest City and Serena Ingram and Sheris Ingram, both of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; a brother, Earle Boyd, of Forrest City; and grandmothers, Geneva Boyd of Forrest City and Ima Ingram of Ft. Wayne, Ind.
Visitation services for Mr. Boyd will be held, Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Kennedy Chapel. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at noon at Mustang Arena on the campus of Forrest City High School with Rev. Jessie McClure officiating. Burial will follow in Forrest City Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Kennedy Funeral Home.

Dylan Boyd
Mr. Dylan "Da Da" Boyd, age 31, of Madison, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2001, in Madison.
Mr. Boyd, born Jan. 7, 1970, was the son of William Ingram of Ft. Wayne, Ind. and Louise Boyd of Forrest City. He was a truck driver.
Mr. Boyd is survived by his parents; a daughter, Kiesha Sandford of Forrest City; five sisters, LaShunda Boyd, Teresa Lewis and Stephanie Goodman, all of Forrest City and Serena Ingram and Sheris Ingram, both of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; a brother, Earle Boyd, of Forrest City; and grandmothers, Geneva Boyd of Forrest City and Ima Ingram of Ft. Wayne, Ind.
Visitation services for Mr. Boyd will be held, Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Kennedy Chapel. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at noon at Mustang Arena on the campus of Forrest City High School with Rev. Jessie McClure officiating. Burial will follow in Forrest City Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Kennedy Funeral Home.

Dewayne Stewart
Mr. Dewayne "Dee" Stewart, age 27, of Forrest City, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2001, in Madison.
Mr. Stewart, born Sept. 5, 1974, in Forrest City, was the son of Albert Stewart Sr. and Doris Wilson Stewart. He is survived by his parents; two sons, Traveion Stewart of Forrest City and Torrie Stewart of Madison; three sisters, Brenda Stewart of Marianna, Denise Cannaday of Forrest City and Necole Woods of Colt; three brothers, Ken Stewart of Honolulu, Hawaii, Paul Stewart of Den and Albert Stewart Jr. of Forrest City.
Visitation services for Mr. Stewart will be held Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Woodhouse Mortuary. Funeral services for Mr. Stewart will be held, Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Rising Sun M.B. Church with Rev. Isiah McKeown officiating. Burial will follow in Clark Cemetery under the direction of Woodhouse Mortuary.

Ethel Lucille Henderson
Mrs. Ethel Lucille Henderson, age 87, of DeWitt, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001, at the Texarkana Nursing Home in Texarkana, Texas.
Mrs. Henderson, born Sept. 5, 1914, was preceded in death by her husband J.Y. Henderson. She is survived by four daughters, Mary Helen Mullen of DeWitt, Carolyn Eakin of Forrest City and Kay Marshall and Sue Rush, both of Texarkana, Texas; two sons, Jimme Ray Henderson of Searcy and John C. Henderson of Bentonville; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation services for Mrs. Henderson will be held, Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Essex Funeral Home in DeWitt. Funeral services for Mrs. Henderson will be held Tuesday, Dec.18, 2001, at 11 a.m. at Essex Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Flowers officiating under direction of Essex Funeral Home.

Margaret Penrose Mantle
Mrs. Margaret Penrose Mantle, age 87, of Forrest City, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.
Mrs. Mantle, born May 6, 1914, in Hunter, was the daughter of William Penrose and Ethel Shaver Penrose. She was a Methodist.
Mrs. Mantle is survived by two sisters, Jane King of Forrest City and Beatrice Grace of Dardanelle and one brother, Robert Penrose of California.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Mantle were held Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, at Hunter Cemetery in Hunter with Bro. Glen Nicholson officiating. Morgan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Donnie Gene Burrow
Mr. Donnie Gene Burrow Sr., age 49, lifelong resident of Wynne, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001, at Cross Ridge Community Hospital in Wynne.
Mr. Burrow, born Nov. 26, 1952, in Long Beach, Calif., was the son of Orville Lee Burrow and Betty Jean Foxx Hudson. He had lived in Wynne, since the age of four. He was a 1971 graduate of Wynne High School and worked as a receiving specialist at Sanyo Manufacturing. Mr. Burrow had also worked as a supervisor with Halstead Industries for 28 years.
Mr. Burrow was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by a son, Donnie Burrow Jr. of Wynne; a daughter, Sheila Burrow of Wynne; a brother, Danny Burrow and one grandchild.
Funeral services for Mr. Burrow were held Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Wynne with Rev. Denny Taylor officiating. Burial followed in Harris Chapel Cemetery in Wynne under the direction of Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home of Wynne and McCrory.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Cross County Chapter of the American Heart Association.

Lawrence E. Evans
Mr. Lawrence E. Evans, age 84, of Caldwell, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital - Forrest City.
Mr. Evans was born July 21, 1917, and was the son of William Walter Evans and Nora Rainey Evans. He lived in St. Francis County most of life and was a former employee of B&E T.V., a member of the Lions Club, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Caldwell.
Mr. Evans married Dorothy Mae Lyon in 1939, and she preceded him in death in 2000, along with one son, Logan Evans in 1959..
He is survived by three sons, Bernar Evans and Gary Evans, both of Forrest City, and Jim Evans of Sheridan; two daughters, Molly Vondran of Caldwell and Bettye Brawner of Jonesboro; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Evans will be held Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001, at 10:30 a.m., Stevens Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hughes Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
The family requests memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of Caldwell.

Judi Futrell
Mrs. Judi Futrell, age 56, of Forrest City, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001, at Methodist Hospital-Central.
Mrs. Futrell was born Dec. 15, 1945 in Parkin and was an insurance agent for State Farm Insurance, Mike Lawyer.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Futrell of Wynne and Colin Futrell of Forrest City; one sister, Nancy Roberson of Memphis; and one grandchild.
Funeral services for Mrs. Futrell will be held graveside on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001, at 10 a.m., at Forrest Park Cemetery under the direction of Clay Funeral Home.
The family requests memorials be made in lieu of flowers to the American Cancer Society.

Raymond Howerton
Mr. Raymond Howerton, age 78, of Peach Orchard, formerly of Haynes, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, at the Walnut Ridge Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. Howerton was born May 30, 1923, in Nelsonville. He was the son of O.E. Howerton and Opheila Nelson Howerton. Mr. Howerton was an industrial engineer, a veteran of World War II, a Pearl Harbor survivor, VFW member and was a charter member of the Marianna Country Club.
Mr. Howerton was married to Mable Cox in 1962. She survives him along with one step-son, Arnold Verhoeven of Mountain Home; two brothers, Otho Howerton of Memphis and Robert Howerton of Sardis; three sisters, Ruth Honeycutt of Heber Springs, Gloria New of Rush, Texas and Trilby Hollis of Arlington, Texas. He is also survived by three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Forrest Park Cemtery in Forrest Ctiy at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, 2001. Funeral services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
