Wilma Hope Gray Rowe
Mrs. Wilma Hope Gray Rowe, age 88, formerly of Forrest City and Pine Bluff, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2001, at the Beverly Nursing Home in North Little Rock.
Mrs. Rowe was born on Sept. 8, 1912, in Jasper, Ala. She was the daughter of John L. Gray and Barbara V. Anderson Gray. She was a housewife and a member of the Church of Christ.
Mrs. Rowe was married to Olan Ray Rowe in 1932, and he preceded her in death in 1976. She is survived by two daughters, Rita Greer, of Rome, Ga., and Carol Barry, of Pine Bluff; one son, James M. Rowe, of Forrest City; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Rowe will be Friday, Jan. 12, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, at 2 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Forrest Park Cemetery. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Johnny James Hemphill
Mr. Johnny James Hemphill, age 91, of Forrest City, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at Crestpark Nursing Home in Forrest City.
Mr. Hemphill, a retired framer, is survived by his wife, Vella Morrow Hemphill, of Los Angeles, Calif.; four daughters, Tammy McCoy, of Forrest City, Dorothy Cambell, of Los Angeles, Calif., Pearlie Russell, of Gary, Ind., and Amie Morrow, of Chicago, Ill.; five sons, Jimmy Morrow, of Madison, Simon Morrow, of Widener, Perry Morrow, of Los Angeles, Calif., Billy Morrow and John McCoy, both of Forrest City and a sister, Josephine Ross, of Chicago, Ill.
There will be a memorial service for Mr. Hemphill, on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, at 11 a.m., at Kennedy Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Elbert Carr officiating. Kennedy Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Jane Richardson
Mrs. Jane Richardson, age 77, of Earle, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001, at Johnson Hobson Health Care, in Marion.
Mrs. Richardson was a teller and bookkeeper at Earle State Bank. She was active in community volunteer work for Good Neighbor Center and Heifer Project International. Mrs. Richardson was a member of Earle First United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, S.R. Richardson. She is survived by three daughters, Claire Devazier, of Palestine, Shirley Hildebrand, of Fayetteville, and Mary Richarson, of Little Rock; a son, Don Richardson, of Clinton; a sister, Agnes Bilewicz, of Little Rock; a brother, Wesley Ross, of Little Rock and five grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Richardson will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, at 10 a.m., in the Earle First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Crittenden Memorial Park Cemetery in Marion. Roller-Citizens Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Lowell Sitzes
Mr. Lowell Sitzes, age 80, of Memphis, died Friday, Jan. 12, 2001, at Methodist North Hospital in Memphis.
Mr. Sitzes was born on June 18, 1920, in Palestine. He was the son of Noah Sitzes and Nettie Kyzer Sitzes. Mr. Sitzes had lived in Palestine before moving to Memphis. He was retired from sawmill work and was a member of Raleigh Assembly of God Church.
Mr. Sitzes is survived by three sisters, Lela Barthalow, of Bartlett, Tenn., Marilyn Maddox, of Collierville, Tenn. and Evalynn Goodwin, of Forrest City; two brothers, Clivy Sitzes, of Mt. Vernon, Mo. and McRae Sitzes, of Memphis, Tenn.
Funeral services for Mr. Sitzes were held on Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, at the Twin Assembly of God Church in Palestine. The Rev. Ron Woods officiated the service. Burial followed at the Salem Cemetery. Stevens Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Valerie Hope Davenport Elliott
Mrs. Valerie Hope Davenport Elliott, age 26, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, in Colt.
Mrs. Elliott was born Feb. 24, 1974, in Forrest City. She was the daughter of Jesse and Mary Davenport. Mrs. Elliott was employed at the Forrest City High School cafeteria as a substitute. She graduated from Forrest City High School in 1991, and was a member of the Colt Baptist Church.
Mrs. Elliott's three children, Jessica Jean, Christeen Ann and Jeffery Thomas Elliott II, also died in the fire.
She is survived by her husband, Jeffery Thomas Elliott, of Colt; her parents, Jesse and Mary Davenport, of Forrest City; her grandmother, Velva Melton, of Forrest City; six brothers, Jerry Davenport, of Greenville, Miss., Joel Davenport, William Davenport, Paul Davenport, Kendall Davenport and Keith Davenport, all of Forrest City; two sisters, Karen Carr, of Belton, Texas and Trena Flowers, of Norfork.
Mrs. Elliott was preceded in death by her brother, Frank Davenport in 1986, and her grandparents, Lige Melton, Jim Davenport and Fannie Davenport.
Visitation for Mrs. Elliott will be held tonight, Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Morgan Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, at 2 p.m., at Morgan Chapel Funeral Home, with the Bro. Charles Bradley officiating. Burial will follow at Hughes Cemetery. Morgan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Christeen Ann Elliott
Christeen Ann Elliott, age 7, of Colt, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, in Colt. She was born Jan. 4, 1994, the daughter of Jeffery Thomas Elliott and Valerie Hope Davenport Elliott. His mother and two siblings, Jeffery Thomas Elliott, and Jessica Jean Elliott, died with her in the fire.
She is survived by her father, Jeffery Thomas Elliott, of Colt; her grandparents, Margaret Busby and Jesse and Mary Davenport, all of Forrest City; and her great-grandmother, Mrs. Velva Melton, of Forrest City.
Visitation will be tonight Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Morgan Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, at 2 p.m., at Morgan Chapel Funeral Home, with Bro. Charles Bradley officiating. Burial will follow at Hughes Cemetery. Morgan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Jeffery Thomas Elliott II
Jeffery Thomas Elliott II, age 5, of Colt, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, in Colt.
He was born on Jan. 18, 1995, the son of Jeffery Thomas Elliott and Valerie Hope Davenport Elliott. His mother and two siblings, Christeen Ann Elliott and Jessica Jean Elliott, also died in the fire.
He is survived by his father, Jeffery Thomas Elliott, of Colt; his grandparents, Margaret Busby and Jesse and Mary Davenport, all of Forrest City, and his great-grandmother, Mrs. Velva Melton, of Forrest City.
Visitation will be held tonight, Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Morgan Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, at 2 p.m., at Morgan Chapel Funeral Home, with the Bro. Charles Bradley officiating. Burial will follow at Hughes Cemetery. Jessica Jean Elliott
Jessica Jean Elliott, age 1, of Colt, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, in Colt.
She was born on May, 17, 1999, the daughter of Jeffery Thomas Elliott and Valerie Hope Davenport Elliott. Her mother and two siblings, Christeen Ann Elliott and Jeffery Thomas Elliott, II, also died in the fire.
She is survived by her father, Jeffery Thomas Elliott, of Colt; her grandparents, Margaret Busby and Jesse and Mary Davenport, all of Forrest City and her great-grandmother, Mrs. Velva Melton, of Forrest City.
Visitation for will be held tonight, Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Morgan Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, at 2 p.m., at Morgan Chapel Funeral Home, with Bro. Charles Bradley officiating. Burial will follow at Hughes Cemetery. Mary Lindsey Busby
Mrs. Mary Lindsey Busby, age 95, of Benton, died on Monday, Jan. 15, 2001.
Mrs. Busby was born on Feb. 23, 1905, in Caldwell. She was the daughter of William James Lindsey and Sarah Elizabeth Brown Lindsey. Mrs. Busby had lived in Marianna before moving to Benton. She was a housewife and a member of the First Baptist Church in Marianna.
Mrs. Busby was married to Bruce Busby in 1928 and he preceded her in death in 1990. She is survived by two daughters, Robbie Hobbs, of Covington, Va. and Marilyn Dickson, of West Memphis; a son, Bruce M. Busby, of Benton; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Busby will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, from 5 to 8 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001, at 2 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home, with the Rev. W.L. Prentiss officiating. Burial will follow at Forrest Park Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Samuel Davis Smith Sr.
Mr. Samuel Davis Smith Sr., age 84, a resident of St. Joseph Nursing Home in Brinkley, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.
Mr. Smith was a farmer and a resident of Goodwin. He was named Farmer of the Year in the late 1960s and was a member of New Mt. Zion Free Will Baptist Church in Goodwin.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Smith. He is survived by five sons, Ervin Smith and Samuel Smith Jr., both of Memphis., Tenn., Otis Smith, of Goodwin, Thomas Smith, of Jacksonville, and Donnie Smith, of Houston, Texas; seven daughters, Martha Phillips, Ida Smith, Ruby Worsham, Christine Brooks and Katherine Smith, all of Little Rock, Fannie Metcalf, of Brinkley, and Agnes Coleman, of Forrest City; a brother, Frank Smith, of Goodwin; a sister, Mamie McKissick, of Forrest City; 20 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Smith will be held on Friday, Jan. 19, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m., at New Mt. Zion Church in Goodwin. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, at 11 a.m., at New Mt. Zion Church. McNeal Funeral Home in Brinkley is in charge of the arrangements.
