Fellie Hogue
Mr. Fellie Hogue, age 78, of Colt, died Wednesday, June 6, 2001, at Crestpark in Forrest City.
Mr. Hogue was born Aug. 6, 1922, and was the son of Jimmy Lee Hogue and Eveline Stevenson Hogue. He was a Baptist, and worked at Halstead prior to retirement.
Mr. Hogue is survived by his wife, Aline Hogue of Colt; one son, Frank Hogue of Washington; four step-sons, Joe Floyd of Forrest City, Billy Floyd of Stuttgart, Phillip Floyd of Augusta and Ronnie Hogue of Wynne; four daughters, Ellen Hogue of North Carolina, Joyce Hogue of Washington, Sanoma Hogue and Bonnie Hogue, both of California; four step-daughters, Jean Ashcraft and Carolyn Bailey, both of Judsonia, Fannie Pottoroff of Alabama and Patricia Gilmer of Colt; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. Hogue were held today, Thursday, June 7, 2001, at 2 p.m., at Hughes Cemetery with Bro. Allen Cowan officiating. Services were under the direction of Morgan Funeral Home.
Mary Lovenia Jones
Mrs. Mary Lovenia Jones, age 81, of Wynne, died Tuesday, June 5, 2001, at Cross Ridge Community Hospital in Wynne.
Mrs. Jones was born Dec. 14, 1919, in Colt, the daughter of Amos Edward Mann and Mary Jane Hill Mann. She lived in Colt and the Cross County area most of her life, and was a member of the New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church in Colt.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husbands, Phil Neisler in 1976, and Fred Jones Jr., in 1982.
She is survived by three sons, David Wayne Neisler of Colt, Rickey Neisler of Forrest City and Mickey Neisler of Wynne; one daughter, Vicki Peters of Bakersfield, Mo.; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Jones were held today, Thursday, June 7, 2001, at 10 a.m., at Kernodle Funeral Home Chapel in Wynne with Rev. W.G. Davis and Rev. Charles Bradley officiating. Burial followed in Hughes Cemetery under the direction of Kernodle Funeral Home.
The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
Leola Evelyn Martin McMahand
Mrs. Leola Evelyn Martin McMahand, age 79, of Brookland, died Tuesday, June 5, 2001, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Mrs. McMahand was born Dec. 22, 1921, in Cushing, Okla., the daughter of William and Veda Robertson Reynolds. She was a retired seamstress, a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary. She was a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, James L. Martin and Johnnie L McMahand; her parents, two brothers, Jimmy D. Reynolds and Glenn D. Reynolds, and one sister, Ruby Warren.
Mrs. McMahand is survived by five daughters, Evelyn Leota (Leona) Staggs of Little Rock; Jo Ann Bruce and Veda M. Carroll-Pullar, both of Brookland; Thelma L. Davenport of Corpus Christi, Texas and W.G. "Bimmi" Martin-Butt of Conway; three sisters, Ellene Haner of Newport, Jessie Mitchell of Forrest City and Billie Jo King of Blytheville; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. McMahand will be Friday, June 8, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Cobb Funeral Home in Blytheville. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 9, 2001, at 1 p.m., at Cobb Funeral Home with burial following in Dogwood Cemetery under the direction of Cobb Funeral Home.
Jessie Gene Williamson
Mr. Jessie Gene (Punchy) Williamson, age 48, of Forrest City, died Saturday, June 2, 2001, at St. Benard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Mr. Williamson was born Aug. 17, 1952, in Hughes and was the son of J.D. Williamson and Georgia Morgan Williamson.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Jean Williamson of Forrest City; five daughters, Folria Mason, Gloria White, Diane Williamson and Brittany Williamson, all of Forrest City, and Shantel Williamson Pitts of Widener; three sons, Jessie Gen Williamson Jr., Rodgrick Williamson and Nathaniel Williamson, all of Forrest City; seven sisters, Delorse Mucherson, Josephine Brown, Racheal Williamson, Schres Brown, April Williamson and Maple Brown, all of Forrest City and Easter Payton of Jonesboro; a stepmother, Ollie Mae Williamson of Hughes and nine grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Williamson will be Friday, June 8, 2001, from 10:30 a.m to 5 p.m. in the chapel of Woodhouse Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 9, 2001, at 1 p.m. at Days Temple Church of God in Christ with Elder John Jennings officiating. Burial will follow in Madison Cemetery under the direction of Woodhouse Mortuary.
Geneva Laverne Yancey
Mrs. Geneva Laverne Yancey, age 88, of Tucson, Ariz., died Tuesday, June 5, 2001, in Tucson.
Mrs. Yancey was born Oct. 1, 1912, in Marvell. She was retired from the Southern Bell Telephone Company in 1966 after 31 years of service as a trainer and a supervisor. Mrs. Yancey was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Alexandria, La., her home for 30 years, and was also active in the Eastern Star and the Telephone Pioneers.
She is survived by her brother, Richard D. Yancey of Tucson, and other relatives and friends.
Visitation for Mrs. Yancey will be held Saturday, June 9, 2001, at 10 a.m. with burial to follow in Forrest Park Cemetery under the Direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
A memorial service is scheduled for Mrs. Yancey on Monday, June 11, 2001, at 2 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church in Alexandria, La. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Jacklon Hines
Mrs. Jacklon Hines, age 34, of Forrest City, died Saturday, June 2, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.
Mrs. Hines was born Sept. 30, 1966, in West Memphis.
She is survived by her husband, Aaron Hines of Forrest City; her father, Arthur Gunthrop of Forrest City; her mother, Naomi Gunthrop of Los Angeles, Calif.; a son, Kendon Hines of Forrest City; two daughters, Kelsey Hines and Kangela Hines, both of Forrest City; a brother, Sammy Gunthrop of Los Angeles, Calif. and a sister, Margaret Gunthrop of Forrest City.
Visitation for Mrs. Hines will be Friday, June 8, 2001, from 2 to 5 p.m., at Clay Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 9, 2001, at 2 p.m., at the Church of the Living God with Rev. Eunice Marie Martin
Mrs. Eunice Marie Martin, age 77, of Wynne, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001, at Cross Ridge Community Hospital in Wynne.
Mrs. Martin was born Aug. 27, 1923 in Saline County. She was the daughter of George Cothern and Agnes Harris Cothern. Mrs. Martin was employed for eight years at General Industries as an Armiture Reader of Gauges. She was a member of the East Baptist Church in Wynne.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Edmond Martin in 1987 and by a grandson, Glenn Kennedy Jr.; two grandaughters, Bonnie Carol Kennedy and Audrey Deann Kennedy; and several brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Martin is survived by two sons, Tommy Martin and Allen Martin, both of Wynne; three daughters, Linda Kennedy of Simms, Carol Kennedy of Wynne and Peggy Huckaha of Heber Springs; a brother, Henry Cothern of Memphis; a sister, Polly Downey of Wynne; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation services will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2002, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Kernodle Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 2, 2001, at 2 p.m., at Kernodle Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ray D. Davis and Rev. Donnie Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Cogbill Cemetery in Wynne under the direction of Kernodle Funeral Home.

Laura Smothers
Laura Smothers, aged 75, of Forrest City died Satuday, Feb. 24, 2001 at her home.
Mrs. Smothers was born Dec. 23, 1925 in Round Pond, the daughter of Dennis Smothers and Lillie Jonson Smothers.
Mrs. Smothers is survived by two daughters, Lillie B. Morgan of Chicago and Hazel Ross of Forrest City; three sons, Eugene Morgan of Chicago, Earnest Morgan of Tampa, Fla. and Melvin Key of West Memphis; four sistes, Litlllie Buford and Annie Bell Gregory of Los Angeles, Calif. Ester Serace of Cleveland, Ohio and Torressia Lynch of Forrest City; three brothers, Clarence Smothers of St. Louis, Mo., Dennis Smothers of Pine, Bluff and L.E. Smothers of Los Angeles; 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 2, 2001 from 10:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. in the chapel of Woodhouse Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Satuday,March 3, 2001 at 1 p.m. at Christ Temple Pentecostal Church, with elder Thomas Holloway officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery, under the direction of Woodhouse Mortuary.
Juanita Ferguson
Mrs. Juanita Ferguson, age 84, of Forrest City, died Sunday, March 11, 2001, at the Crestpark Nursing Home.
Mrs. Ferguson was born Nov. 3, 1916, in Memphis, Tenn. She was the daughter of Will Fisher and Sue Whittington Fisher. Mrs. Ferguson made Forrest City her home all of her life where she was a housewife and a member of the First Baptist Church.
She was married to Charles Ferguson in 1935, and he preceded her in death in 1988 along with a daughter, Eva Sue Ferguson in 1952. Mrs. Ferguson is survived by a son, Ronald Ferguson of Memphis and a brother, William Fisher of Little Rock.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ferguson will be Tuesday, March 13, 2001, at 2 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home, with the Rev. Johnny Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Forrest Park Cemetery with Stevens Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. The family requests memorials be made to the Forrest City Public Library or to the First Baptist Church.
