Julia Mae Cowan
Mrs. Julia Mae Cowan, age 71 of Colt, died Saturday, March 24, 2001, at St. Bernard's Hospital in Jonesboro.
Mrs. Cowan was born Nov. 5, 1929, to William Perry Anderson and Addie Mae Hopson Anderson. She lived most of her life in this area and was a house wife and Pentecostal.
Mrs. Cowan is survived by her husband, Maburn Cowan Jr. of the home; two sons, Perry Willhite of Fulton, Miss. and Maburn Cowan III of Wynne; three daughters, Rosemary Green of Ward, Ruth Hastings of Forrest City and Terry Fay Cross of Oklahoma City, Okla.; three brothers, James Anderson of California, Robert Anderson of North Little Rock and Kenneth Anderson of Alexander; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Cowan will be Monday, March 26, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m., in the Chapel of Morgan Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at 2 p.m., at the Calvary Apostolic Church in Wynne with Bro. T.G. Ramsey and Bro. H.B. Gray officiating. Burial will follow in Hughes Cemetery under the direction of Morgan Funeral Home.

Louise Huckaba
Mrs. Louise Huckaba, age 82 of Palestine, died Friday, March 23, 2001, at her home.
Mrs. Huckaba was born April 20, 1918, in Jacksonville, Fla. She was the daughter of Clarence McAdams and Zona Morrison McAdams. Mrs. Huckaba lived in Palestine most of her life where she was a housewife and a member of the Goodwin Baptist Church.
She married Taylor Huckaba in 1941 and he preceded her in death in 1988. She is survived by a son, Franklin Huckaba of St. Louis, Mo.; four daughters, Nellie Jumper and JoAnn Clark, both of Palestine, Joyce Holt and Janet Cronice, both of Scotland; one sister, Bobbie Nell Schultz of Leoma, Tenn; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Huckaba were held Monday, March 26, 2001, at Stevens Funeral Home. Burial followed at Bell Cemetery with Stevens Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Audrey Willene Peterson
Mrs. Audrey Willene Peterson, age 73, of Forrest City, died Friday, March 23, 2001.
Mrs. Peterson was born March 5, 1928, in Sand Slough. She was the daughter of Odis "Rass" Lawson and Mary Kelso Lawson. Mrs. Peterson made her home in the Forrest City area most of her life where she was a retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone after 29 years and was a member of the Second Baptist Church.
She married Dan Peterson in 1953 and he preceded her in death in 1998, along with a son, Dan Peterson in 2000. She is survived by on son, Luther Peterson of Ft. Worth, Texas; two sisters, Jewel French and Linda Jones, both of Forrest City; five brothers, Billy Lawson and Carl Lawson, both of Colt, Charles Lawson of Pine Tree, Odis Lawson of Newcastle and Phil Lawson of Forrest City and three grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Peterson were held on Sunday, March 25, 2001, with the Rev. Bill Thomason and Rev. Dan Minton officiating the service at Stevens Funeral Home. Burial followed at Mr. Vernon Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
The family requests memorials be made to the Second Baptist Church.

Rayburn O. Kelly
Mr. Rayburn O. Kelly, age 77, of Moro, died Monday, March 26, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Kelly was born June 14, 1923, in Cotton Plant, was the son of William Kelly and Daisy Miller. He was a grocery store owner and a member of various lodges and clubs and was a member of Moro Baptist Church.
Mr. Kelly is survived by his wife, Ruby Kelly of the home; two sons, Bill Kelly of Moro and Gary Kelly of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; three brothers, James Kelly of Little Rock, Billy Kelly of Searcy and Doug Kelly of Cabot; two sisters, Betty Lou Jones and Sybil Farrell both of Harrison; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Kelly will be Tuesday, March 27, 2001, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in Marianna. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Moro Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Jones and Rev. Bill Elliott officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Moro under the direction of Roller-Citizens Funeral Home of Marianna.

Sara Mills Pitcock Parker
Mrs. Sara Mills Pitcock Parker, age 75, of Forrest City, died Monday, March 26, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.
Mrs. Parker was born May 19, 1925, in Pope, Miss. She was the daughter of Ernest Pitcock and Cordie Campbell Pitcock. Mrs Parker had lived in Forrest City the past 36 years and had been the director of nursing at Forrest City Hospitals for 30 years. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Forrest City.
Mrs. Parker married Fred W. Parker in 1951, and he preceded her in death in 1987. She is survived by one daughter, Pat Hamilton of Forrest City; two sons, Charlie Parker and Mike Parker, both of Jonesboro; one sister, Lucy Clark of Memphis; a brother, Haywood Pitcock of Sardis, Miss., and five grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Parker will be Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at 7 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home with the Rev. J.E. Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Forrest Park Cemetery with Stevens Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Audrey Willene Peterson, age 73, of Forrest City, died Friday, March 23, 2001.

John H. Grady
Mr. John H. Grady, age 47, of St. Louis, Mo., formerly of Forrest City. died Thursday, March 22, 2001 in St. Louis, Mo..
Mr. Grady was born April 17, 1953 to Victor and Pearl Grady. He graduated from Forrest City High School in 1971.
He was preceded in death by his father, Victor H. Grady in 1967; a son, Mark Easley and a daughter, Michelle Gardner.
Mr. Grady is survived by his mother, Pearl Grady of Forrest City; one daughter, Stephanie Grady of Forrest City; three sons, John Grady, Jr., Victor Grady and Nicholas Grady all of Forrest City; one step-son, Michael R. Horton, of Forrest City; one step-daughter, Cynthia Mathis of Forrest City; seven sisters, Inez Patton and Leanes Jones, both of Cleveland, Ohio, Lula Rivers of St. Louis, Mo., Dora Mull, Rose Swift, Shirley Haggins and Veonia Franklin, all of Forrest City; seven brothers, Otis Grady of Cleveland, Ohio, Victor Grady of Atlanta, Ga., Ezell Grady, Kenny Grady and Harold Grady, all of Forrest City; George Grady and Charles Grady, both of St. Louis, Mo. and nine grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Mr. Grady will be Thursday, March 29, 2001, at 1 p.m., at Rising Sun Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. John Strong, Jr. officiating. Woodhouse Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Clayton Douglas Johnson
Mr. Clayton Douglas Johnson, age 60 of Forrest City, died Sunday, March 25, 2001 at Crest Park Retirement Inn in Forrest City.
Mr. Johnson was born March 1, 1941 in Widener. He was the son of Charlie Johnson and Christine Williams.
He is survived by three sons, Deyreck Johnson of Illinois, Kenny Johnson of Atlanta, Ga. and Douglas Johnson of Forrest City; two daughters, Allison Delay of Atlanta, Ga. and Lorna Johnson of Illinois; two brothers, Neartis Clark of Forrest City and Leon Clark of Helena; two sisters, Vickie Black of Atlanta, Ga. and Delores McCleod of Dotan, Ala.
Visitation for Mr. Johnson will be Saturday, March 31, 2001, from 1 to 2 p.m., at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. F. Duckworth. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 31, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Leonard Hawkins of Little Rock officiating. Burial will follow at Union Hill Cemetery with Hightower and Son Funeral Home of Marianna in charge of the arrangements.

Minnie Laverne Roberts
Mrs. Minnie Laverne Roberts, age 65, of Palestine, died Monday, March 26, 2001.
Mrs. Roberts was born Aug. 16, 1935 in St. Francis County. She was the daughter of Wesson Geater and Motho Hill Geater. Mrs. Roberts was retired from Van Heusen in Brinkley and she was a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Glenda Sue Burton in 1989.
Mrs. Roberts is survived by her husband, Chuck Roberts of the home; three sons, Jeffery Neal Roberts of Connecticut, John Roberts and Gary Roberts, both of Palestine; four daughters, Teresa Baldwin of Colt, Annette Malone and Sandra Roberts, both of Georgia and Melissa Hamilton of Searcy; one brother, Elmer Geater of Palestine; two sisters, Glenda Fought of Colt and Katherine Lee of Oregon and eight grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Roberts will be Wednesday, March 28, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Morgan Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 29, 2001, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Morgan Funeral Home with Bro. Carl Baldwin and Bro. Paul Latham officiating. Burial will follow at Bell Cemetery under the direction of Morgan Funeral Home.

Franklin Doyle Adams
Franklin Doyle Adams, 67, of Lake of Egypt, Marion, Ill. died Friday, March 23, 2001.
Mr. Adams, formerly of Forrest City, was born Nov. 29, 1933, in Marion, Ill. He was a former employee of Sanyo Manufacturing and a resident of Forrest City from 1972 to 1984. He was a veteran who served in Europe post-World War II.
Mr. Adams is survived by three sons, Mark, Steven and Kevin; a brother; four sisters and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and four brothers.
Funeral services for Mr. Adams were held Monday, March 26, 2001, in Goreville Illinois.
