Bud McElroy
DARDANELLE — L.D. “Bud” McElroy, 78, of Dardanelle died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2007, at Baptist Medical Center.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Brearley Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cornwell Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday.

Alonzo Mefford
CLARKSVILLE — Alonzo “Lon” Ervin Mefford, 76, of Hartman died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007, at his home.
He was born Dec. 15, 1930, owned Mefford’s Upholstery Shop for more than 40 years and served 31/2 years in the Air Force, with most of that time in the Philippines. He was author of “God’s Laws: Your Blessings.” He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Ervin and Lettie May Jolly Mefford; brothers, Worth, Aubrey and Carroll Mefford; and a great-granddaughter, Allie Elizabeth Coleman.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Reicks Mefford; sons, Donnie Mefford of Russellville, Lonnie Mefford of Ozark and Ronnie Mefford of Clarksville; daughters, Bonnie O’Dell of Tucson, Ariz., Connie Mefford of Dover, Jannie Dudley of Ozark and Linda Gray of New Windsor, Md.; brothers, Robert Mefford of California, Boyd Mefford of Arizona and Don Mefford of Knoxville; stepchildren, Walter Stevens of Coal Hill and David Stevens of California; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Roller-Cox Chapel with Steve Kukla officiating. Music will be by Steve and Bonnie Kukla. Burial will be in Lamar Cemetery by Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Pallbearers:
Active — Aubrey “Buz” Mefford, Mike Mefford, Donald Mefford, Mark Rinke, Dion Henson and Eric Harris.
Honorary — Joe Gillespie, Ernie Faust, Fred DeAryan, Aaron Henins and Ralph.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Lon Mefford Memorial Fund, Regions Bank.

Jason Rainey
CLARKSVILLE — Jason Wayne Rainey, 36, of Benton died at Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton.
He was a restaurant manager, a 1989 graduate of Lamar High School, a 1995 graduate of Arkansas Tech University, a licensed real estate agent, funeral director and phlebotomist.
Survivors include his parents, James Rainey of Knoxville and Shirley Russell Rainey of Clarksville; his partner, Jay Reid; his grandfather, Glenn Rainey of Knoxville; a brother, Rick Galvin of Mayflower; a sister, Jamie Rainey of Clarksville; a half-brother, Gregg Rainey of Lamar; a half-sister, Missy Dahlem of Clarksville; and a nephew, Dawson Rainey of Clarksville.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. today at Hartman Cemetery. Arrangements are by Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Bess Warnsing
DANVILLE — Bess Ann Warnsing, 85, of Plainview died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2007, at Dardanelle Nursing Home.
She was born April 5, 1921, at Corning, Ark. She was a retired pastor and charter member of Full Gospel Church in Plainview. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter W. Warnsing.
Survivors include stepchildren, Wayne and Betty, Gene and Connie, Larry and Alice, David and Kathy, and Don Warnsing; cousin, Ruth Walker; spiritual granddaughters, Eva Houston and Paula Jones; 11 step-grandchildren; and 22 step-great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. today at Trinity House of Prayer with Pastor Mike Gullet officiating.
Cremation arrangements are by Cornwell Funeral Home.

Alf Watts
Alf Watts, 94, of Atkins, died Wednesday, July 19, 2006, at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center.
The son of Author and Lavada Turney Watts, he was born Nov. 27, 1911, in Bear Creek, Ark. He attended the Assembly of God Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Taylor Watts, and wife, Myrtle Reynolds; two great-grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.
Survivors include two sons, J.D. Watts of Hector and Ronnie Watts of Russellville; three daughters, Judie Sexton of Dover, Jean Burris of Atkins and Bonita Embry of Atkins; 12 grandchildren, Linda Lucero of Hector, Diane Justice of North Carolina, Debra Copeland of Atkins, James Sexton of Dover, Bonita Ford of Atkins, Dennis Burris Jr. of Virginia, John Burris of Russellville, Richard Burris of Atkins, Alishea Ensey of Atkins, Ginger Bradley of Russellville, Traci Watts of Russellville, Jordan Embry of Atkins and Jill Embry of Atkins; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Humphrey Chapel with Brother Hank Duvall officiating. Burial will be in Hudson Cemetery at Moreland under the direction Humphrey Funeral Service.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Wayne Hassel
ATKINS -- Euel Wayne Hassel, 59, of Scottsville died Tuesday, July 18, 2006, in Augusta, Ga.
He was born June 15, 1947, in Russellville, and was the son of the late Euel and Mary Ruth Hull Hassel. He was a carpenter and a painter.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Hassel; a son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Shanna Hassel of Dardanelle; two daughters, Jennifer Mills and Beth Hassel, both of Scottsville; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Jerry Hassel and Alan Hassel, both of Scottsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside service and burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Langford Cemetery with Homer LaRue and Gary Riley officiating. Arrangements are by Lemley Funeral Service.
Honorary pallbearers include Jerry Hassel, Alan Hassel, Bill Hull, James Hull and Bill Ralls.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 tonight.

Mary Silvey
CLARKSVILLE -- Mary Jane Silvey of Clarksville died Thursday, July 20, 2006, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
Arrangements will be announced by Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Amber Periman
Amber Marie Periman, 17, of Lamar, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, at St. Edwards Mercy Hospital.
She was born Oct. 22, 1988, at Clarksville. She was a 2007 senior at Clarksville High School and a member of the FFA. Her passions included accomplishments in art, horseback riding, fishing and spending time outdoors. She taught everyone she knew the importance of love, family and compassion. Because of Amber's passion and commitment to the Organ Program, her survivors also include six recipients from across the country who have been given a second chance at life through the Arkansas Regional Organ Recover Agency (ARORA).
She was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Richard and Ervine Periman and Roger Unholtz.
She is survived by parents, Doyle and Mary Periman of Lamar; grandparents, Janet and Roger Patrick of Ozark; and her fiancee, Brian Molczyk of Grand Island, Neb.
Pallbearers include Kenny Bridgewater, Martin Boen, Kevin Freeman, Matt Jones, Joey Gibson and Shannon Davidson. Honorary pallbearers are the 2007 Senior Class at Clarksville High School and members of Clarksville FFA.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the Hardwicke Funeral Home in Clarksville. The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14, 2006 at East Mount Zion Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Robbie Jackson officiating. Internment will be at the Minnow Creek Cemetery in Lamar.
Arrangements are made through the Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Eva Edwards
Eva Dell Edwards, 86, of Bigelow, formerly of Centerville, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2006 at Conway Regional Medical Center.
Arrangements are by Cornwell Funeral Home in Dardanelle.

Doris Roach
Doris Eva Wylie Roach, age 73, died Friday, Oct. 20, 2006, at Russellville Nursing Center.
A daughter of the late Homer and Florence Turnbow Wylie, she was born June 30, 1933, in Cabot. She was a Baptist and was retired from AVI (Arkansas Valley Industries). She was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Roach; a brother, Lowman Wylie; and two sisters, Thelma Roach and Donie Goforth.
Survivors include a brother, F.E. “Pete” Wylie of Cabot; and several nephews and nieces and great-nephews and great-nieces.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 23, 2006, at Shinn Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Judkins officiating. Burial will be in the Linker Cemetery at Dover under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.
Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.
The visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
