Dorothy Faddis
Dorothy Annette Faddis died Friday, Jan. 11, 2008, in Springdale.
Born July 16, 1938, to Lawrence and Edith Petillo of Yell County, she was a graduate of Ola High School.
Survivors include her husband, Joe M. Faddis; daughter, Shawna C. Ford and husband Phil Ford of Springdale; stepson, Joe M. Faddis Jr., and wife Dawn of Lake Kiowa, Texas; four grandchildren, Kelsey Ford, Zach Ford, Ryan Faddis and Tabitha Faddis; two sisters, Ruby Rader of Skiatook, Okla., and Janette George and husband Jacky of El Reno, Okla.; four nieces; and several great-nieces.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008, at Sisco Funeral Home in Springdale. Her body will be cremated and the ashes interred in Whiteoak Cemetery at Qualls, Okla.

John Barker
CLARKSVILLE - John Wesley Barker, 64, of Clarksville died Friday, Jan. 11, 2008, at his home in Clarksville.
He was born June 13, 1943, a U.S. Army veteran and preceded in death by parents, Martin Robert and Dorothy (Fitzmaurice) Martin.
Survivors include wife, Carolyn (Purdy) Barker; daughter, Jennifer Sanderson of North Carolina; son, John Wesley Barker III of Florida, Steve Barker and Scott Barker, both of Texas; brothers, Henry Barker of Ohio and Martin Barker of Texas; and three grandchildren.
Rosary service will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2008, at Roller-Cox Funeral Chapel with Father William Wewers officiating. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008, at the Fort Smith National Cemetery in Forth Smith.
Memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Center of North Carolina, 4101 Macon Pond Drive, Raleigh, NC 27607. Arrangements by Roller-Cox Funeral Home, Clarksville.

Emma Hull
Emma Hull, 81, of Dover, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008, at her home.
The daughter of William and Laudra Stevens Freeman, she was born Nov 2, 1926, in Lamar. She was a member of the Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church of God north of Dover. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Hull; her parents; and one brother, George Freeman.
She is survived by four sons, Robert Hull and wife Diann, David Hull, Paul Hull and wife Vickie, Ricky Hull and wife Tammy, all of Dover; eight grandchildren, Aundreia Myers and husband Andy, Adrienne Hull, both of Dover, Natassia Taff of Russellville, Forrest Hull and wife Vanessa, Ryan Hull of Dover, Keegan Hull of Lamar, Lucas Tate of Lamar, Joey Tate and wife Rachel of Lamar; eight great grandchildren, Zachary Myers, Chase Petty, Tyler Myers, Chesney Myers, Amica Myers, Devan Tate, all of Dover, Ava Tate, Ivy Tate of Lamar; two brothers, Bill Freeman and wife Glenda of Russellville, Clyde Freeman of Dover; three sisters, Katie Williams, Clara Williams, both of Dover, LaRuth Williams of Stockton, California; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008, at Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church with Bro. Jackie Brewer and Bro. Dale Pinkard officiating. Burial will be at Owens Cemetery at Dover, by Humphrey Funeral Service.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Nora Snider
Nora Snider, 95, of Hector, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2008, at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
The daughter of John and Minnie Richardson Trigg, she was born June 12, 1912, in Hector. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was devoted to her family and friends. Nora was a long-time active member of the Hector Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanford Snider; her parents; nine brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by two daughters, Gloria Nell Duncan and husband Jim of Nashville, Tenn., Watha Shore and husband Bernie of Champaign, Ill.; two sons, Lynn Snider and wife Brenda of Hector, Buck Snider and wife Karen of Hector; nine grandchildren, David Shore of Raleigh, N.C., Frank Snider of Dover, Steve Anderson of Plano, Texas, Jeff Snider of Russellville, Dan Anderson of Central, S.C.; Jason Snider of Boston, Mass., Allison Smedley of Hector, Jad Duncan of Nashville, Tenn., Zane Snider of Hector; 14 great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Evelyn Singleton of Prairie Village, Kan.; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008, at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. David Carpenter and the Rev. James Chronister officiating. Burial will be at Camp Ground Cemetery at Hector, by Humphrey Funeral Service.
Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Tuesday, prior to the service, at the church. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.

Don Barr
George Donald 'Don' Barr, age 82, of Russellville, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2008 at his home.
A son of the late Paul H. and Marie Miller Barr, he was born Sept. 8, 1925 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Marian Roberts Barr; three daughters, Cindy Morrison and her husband, Thomas, Kathy Barr, and Susan Hunter and her husband, Chris; four grandchildren, Hayley Morrison, Savanna and Bennett Hunter and Courtney Lewis; a sister, Pat Burgett of Punta Gorda, Fla.; his stepmother, Nancy Barr of Punta Gorda; and a number of nephews and nieces.
The memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008, at the Central Presbyterian Church, by Shinn Funeral Service. The Rev. Ken Kalvesmaki will officiate.
The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall.
Memorials may be made to the Russellville Animal Shelter, 3115 S. Mobile Ave., Russellville, AR 72802; or Central Presbyterian Church, 400 W. Main St., Russellville, AR 72801.

Oneta Sweeden
ATKINS - Oneta Sweeden, 86, of Atkins, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 7, 1922, in Pope County, Ark., and was the daughter of the late Wade and Dovie Austin. She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Bill Fike. She was a member of the Bells Chapel Methodist Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, Herbert 'Son' Sweeden of Atkins; two daughters and a son-in-law, Anna Fike of Russellville, and Nina and Jerry Davis of Atkins; grandchildren, Missy Haney, Ronnie Davis, Keith Fike, Kevin Fike, Terri Poynter and Roxanne Jones; 10 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, at Lemley Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Robert Woody officiating. Burial will be in Atkins City Cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service.
Visitation will be 6-8 tonight.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Davis, Keith Fike, Kevin Fike, Eddie Higman, Toby Whitcomb, Shawn Crites and Tyler Haney.

Opal Tolbert
CLARKSVILLE - Opal Ann Barnes Tolbert, 89, of Clarksville died Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, in Johnson Regional Medical Center.
Born Dec. 28, 1918, at Swain (Newton County), she was the daughter of the late John L. and Fannie Edgmon Barnes. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, worked in the church Mustard's Shop for 20 years. She was the life partner of a prominent local peach grower for 50 years, Watts Tolbert, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Tolbert.
Survivors include a son, Phillip Tolbert and wife, Glenda, of Muskogee, Okla.; a daughter, Maris Jean Fletcher of Beebe; two brothers, Thurman Barnes of Sand Springs, Okla., and Charlie Barnes of Lebanon, Mo.; grandchildren, Kenneth Fletcher of Richland, Wash., Mark Fletcher and wife, Liz, of Houston, Texas, and Steven Tolbert and wife, Michelle, of Muskogee, Okla.; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, at Hardwicke Chapel with the Rev. David Hanshaw. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today.

Laurel Caviness
DANVILLE - Funeral service for Laurel A. Caviness, 84, will be held at 10 a.m. today at Cornwell Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Parks Cemetery on State Highway 28, one mile west of Gravelly.
Laurel Ellis was born May 30, 1923, in Memphis, Texas. She married Jim Caviness on Dec. 9, 1949, in Memphis. He preceded her in death in 1982.
She lived a frontier life, moving from the plains of the Texas Panhandle to a homestead near Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming before settling on a cattle ranch at Gravelly, Ark., in western Yell County. She was a fine shot with a rifle and claimed her fair share of antelope and deer. She was a housewife, sold real estate and volunteered at the Danville Public Library.
She loved her Arkansas Razorbacks, Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR. She also enjoyed the occasional venture to Las Vegas, Reno and Oaklawn. She was a voracious reader and astute political observer. However, nothing equaled the joy of spending time with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Caviness died at home with her family present Monday, Feb. 11, 2008.
Survivors include one son, Keith Caviness of Little Rock; one daughter, Cheryl Heskett of Jonesboro; one sister, Lee Murdock of Amarillo, Texas; and four grandchildren, Patricia Caviness Stepp, Laura Caviness, Jordan Heskett and Christine Heskett.
Memorials may be made to Yell County Library, P.O. Box 850, Danville, Ark. 72833.
Arrangements are by Cornwell Funeral Home.

Hurley Scroggins
Hurley O. Scroggins, 85, of Dardanelle died Tuesday Feb. 12, 2008, at River Valley Medical Center in Dardanelle.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday Feb. 14, 2008, at Phoenix Cemetery by Humphrey Funeral Service.
