George Eddy
DANVILLE -- George Elijah Eddy, 94, of Belleville died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at his home.
He was born Feb. 20, 1906, on Oak Mountain in Pope County to George B. and Mary Freeman Eddy and was a retired mechanic and member of Danville Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a great-grandson, Brett Hendrickson.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Rheba Pettycord Eddy; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Bill Eddy of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Kenneth and Ann Eddy of Booneville; two daughters and a son-in-law, Lavada Hendrickson of Springfield, Mo., and Joyce and Joe Cathey of Danville; 10 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Danville Church of Christ by John McCourt and the Rev. Bobby Walker. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery near Hector by Cornwell Funeral Service of Danville.
Grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Virgie Thornton
CLARKSVILLE -- Virgie Belle Thornton, 84, of Clarksville died Friday, June 2, 2000, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cyril W. Thornton, and her parents, Sidney M. and Dora E. Cowan Vaught.
Survivors include a daughter, Virginia Thornton of Clarksville; a son, Wayne Thornton of Clarksville; three sisters, Alma Gill of Oklahoma City and Lois O'Kelly and Lillie Lea Long of Bell Gardens, Calif.; a brothers, Dub Vaught of Clarksville; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Roller-Cox Chapel with the Rev. Amos Pledger and the Rev. Vernon Bass officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Hill Cemetery at Hunt under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home of Clarksville.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
Pallbearers:
Active -- J.T. Chesser, Jesse Donaldson, Wendell Lee, Wayne Vaught, Mike Cox and Robert Vaught.
Honorary -- Clarence Bauman, Betty Bauman, Mary Frances Glass, Carla Donaldson, Maxine Chesser, Pam Cox and Margaret Vaught.

Hithia Blaylock
CLARKSVILLE -- Hithia Hartsel Blaylock, 87, of Hunt died Friday, June 2, 2000, at County Side Manor.
He was a retired coal miner and a Methodist. He was preceded in death by his parents, William R. and Mollie Poteet Blaylock.
Survivors include his wife, Pearl Mooney Blaylock; three daughters and sons-in-law, Eurena and L.D. Holland of Hartman, Mereta Evans and Alonzo Mefford of Hartman, and Madeline and James Morris of Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at Roller-Cox Chapel with the Rev. Sally Ladd officiating. Burial will be in Oark Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home of Clarksville.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Pallbearers:
Active -- Ryan Maxwell, Mike Morris, Gerry Demaray, Terry Evans, Mac Everett Turner and Dennis Morris.

Louise Baldwin
Louise Baldwin, 90, of Russellville, formerly of Dardanelle, died Thursday, June 1, 2000, at Saint Marys Regional Medical Center.
Born Feb. 26, 1910, at Dighton, Kan., to the late Alex and Della Zink Dutoit, she was a homemaker and member of Dardanelle First United Methodist. She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Baldwin; a son, Donald L. Baldwin; a grandson, Scott Baldwin; and three step-grandchildren.
Survivors include six sons and daughters-in-law, Dean and Edna Baldwin of Russellville, Robert E. and Ann Baldwin of Lakeland, Fla., Jim M. and Neta Jean Baldwin of Fort Smith, William H. Jr. and Mary Ann Baldwin of Bay Cliff, Texas, Clifford A. and Sharron Baldwin of Porter, Texas, and Roger G. and Sherrol Baldwin of Littleton, Colo.; a daughter, Betty L. Vigil of Russellville; a daughter-in-law, Alice Baldwin of Russellville; brother, Rex Dutoit of Salem, Ore.; 25 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church at Dardanelle with the Rev. Floyd Ervin officiating. Burial will be in Elizabeth Hall Cemetery at New Blaine under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Gary, Greg, Kevin, Mike, Robert, Wayne, Larry and Ryan Baldwin, and David and Dale Dixon.

J.B. Patterson
J.B. Pat Patterson, 81, of Conway, formerly of Russellville, died Friday, June 2, 2000, at his home.
Born Sept. 4, 1918, at Plainview to the late William Henderson and Bertha Mae Hickman Patterson, he was a retired truck driver. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in Italy for two years, and a member of Harmony Free Will Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Pat Patterson; a daughter, Linda Rogerson; two brothers, Lyles and Ovid Patterson; and two sisters, Effie Hudson and Atha Patton.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Lydia Patterson; a daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Roger Williams of Conway; two sisters, Cletus Brewer of Morrilton and Retha Travis of Atkins; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Shinn Chapel with the Rev. A.E. Bo Coffman and the Rev. Bob Alexander officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Orville Thomas
ATKINS -- Orville M. Thomas, 93, of Appleton died Thursday, June 1, 2000, at his home.
Born Feb. 7, 1907, at Conway County to the late Ellet M. and Leah Reynolds Thomas, he was a retired farmer. He was a member of Cedar Creek Church of Christ and the American Legion and was a veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Thomas.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Thomas of Appleton and Larry Thomas of Dallas; two daughters, Norma Haulmark of Old Hickory and Linda Utley of Powderly, Texas; two brothers, Joe and Benton Thomas, both of Jerusalem; four grandchildren, Jason M. Thomas, Traver Thomas, Brandon Utley and Aldon Utley; and a step-grandson, Robert Haulmark Jr.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at Lemley Funeral Chapel with Miles King officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Creek Cemetery under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at the funeral home.
Pallbearers:
Active -- Larry Thomas, Brandon, Alton and Durlan Utley, Ira Thomas Jr. and Evern Lawless.
Honorary -- Jason and Traver Thomas.
