Ruby Cook
Ruby D. Cook, 60, of Russellville died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, at Saint Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock.
Born Sept. 19, 1940, at Central City, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Helen Decker Awalt. She married Charles Cook on March 14, 1959, at Appleton and was a former employee of ConAgra Frozen Foods after working there 29 years.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe Alford Awalt and Ray Jr. Awalt; her father-in-law, Newton Cook; an uncle, Bill Awalt; and a nephew, Jimmy Dean Williamson.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Jimmy Don Cook of Russellville; a daughter, Linda Standridge of Hector; a brother, Roscoe Awalt of Dardanelle; two sisters, Myrtle Williamson of Atkins and Retha Smith of Russellville; her mother-in-law, Hester Reynolds Cook of Appleton; a grandson, Roger Henry Standridge of Hector; and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Appleton Cumberland Presbyterian Church by the Rev. A.E. Bo Coffman. Burial will be in Appleton Cemetery by Humphrey Funeral Service.
Active pallbearers include Billy Rose, Allen Eubanks, Robert Howell, Skeet Loveland, Chuck Smith and William Cook.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
Joe Hicks
CLARKSVILLE - Joe Hicks, 62, of Hagarville died Monday, Oct. 2, 2000, at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Pitts Hicks; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Donny and Denise Hicks, Coy and Betty Hicks, and Doyle Hicks of Lamar, and Jerry and Kara Hicks of Hagarville; a daughter and son-in-law, Rita and Larry Spellman of Canon City, Colo.; two brothers, Scottie Hicks and Loren White of Hagarville; and 10 grandchildren.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. today at Union Cemetery at Mount Levi by the Rev. Donald Carey. Burial will be by Roller-Cox Funeral Service.
Pallbearers include Kevin Muldoon, Quinton Hughes, Gary Clayton, Dean Cowell, David Domerese, Chuck Hughes, Burley Shook and Mike Sanders.
Elizabeth Ragsdale
CLARKSVILLE - Elizabeth Ragsdale, 80, of Hagarville died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2000, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was the daughter of the late William M. and Evoline Little Sheppard.
Survivors include her husband, William C. Ragsdale; a sister, Ruth Whipple of El Paso, Texas; a half-sister, Ova Stalcup of Oklahoma; two nephews, Gregg and David Sheppard of Florida; and four nieces, Elizabeth Wieststock of Federal Way, Wash., Amelia Hunt of Salinas, Calif., Jessie Mae Brown of Clarksville and Evelyn Sheppard of Washington, Calif.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. today at Hagarville Cemetery by the Rev. Amos Pledger. Burial will be by Roller-Cox Funeral Service.
April Overturf
ATKINS - April L. Overturf, 38, of Pottsville died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2000.
She was born Dec. 7, 1961, at Des Moines, Iowa.
Survivors include her husband, Dale Overturf; a son, Daniel Overturf of Pottsville; a daughter, Angel Overturf of Pottsville; four stepsons and two stepdaughters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Overturf of Salem, Ore., Allen Overturf and Rocky Overturf of Sweethome, Ore., and Mr. and Mrs. Mark Overturf of Albany, Ore.; her mother and stepfather, Margaret and Hector Escobedo of Manteca, Calif.; her father, Robert Henderson of Oregon; three brothers, Robert Henderson of Michigan, and Craig and Michael Henderson of Pottsville; and a sister, Melissa Overhalser of Oregon.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Pottsville Assembly of God Church by the Rev. Mike McNeely. Burial will be in Pisgah Cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service.
Pallbearers include Harry Tucker, G.C. Tucker Jr., Phillip Murders, Tommy McCall, Sammy Reed and Edwin Walker.

Charles Lyons
Charles Edward Lyons, 72, of Waldron died Monday, Oct. 2, 2000, at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith.
Born Jan. 12, 1928, at Dardanelle, he was the son of the late Homer and Faye Hambright Lyons, a 1952 graduate of Arkansas Tech University, and a long time high school coach and educator at Dardanelle, Waldron and Little Rock school systems. He was a life member of the Arkansas High School Coaches Association, and a member of Waldron Retired Teacher Association and First Baptist Church at Waldron.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Betty Grimes Lyons; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Rose Lyons of Fort Smith and Danny and Jeannie Lyons of Russellville; a daughter, Mary Lyons Shoaf of Dallas; a sister, Bonnie Jacobs of Dardanelle; and five grandchildren, Ellen Lyons, Emily Lyons, Laura Lyond, Hall Lyons and Parker Shoaf.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church at Waldron by the Rev. Nelson Wilhelm and the Rev. Frank Thurman. Burial will be in Brearley Cemetery at Dardanelle by Martin Funeral Service of Waldron.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.

DARDANELLE - J.E. Harshfield, 78, of Tulsa, Okla., a native of Delaware (Logan County) died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2000, at Tulsa.

DARDANELLE - Cameron Don Keith, 9, of Atkins died Monday, Oct. 2, 2000, at Saint Marys Regional Medical Center at Russellville.

Opal Siedenburg
Opal J. Siedenburg, 91, of Batesville, mother of Keith Inman of Russellville, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2000.
Born Oct. 18, 1908, at Desha, she was the daughter of the late Hugh Dee and Nora Snapp Inman, a former leader in the Extension Homemaker Club and 4-H Club, and a member of the Eastern Star, Jamestown United Methodist Church and the Women's Christian Temperance Union.
Survivors also include another son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Mary Ann Kinney of Hiram, Ga.; a brother, Hugh Inman Jr. of Jamestown; a grandson, Bobby Lee Kinney Jr.; and two great-granddaughters.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Batesville Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jackie Wilson. Burial will be in Egner Cemetery.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
