Jack Powers, 76, of Russellville died Monday, Dec. 4, 2000.
Born June 26, 1924, in Van Buren County, he was the son of the late Otto William and Abbie Bolton Powers, retired assistant foreman of the Pope County Road Department, a life member of Shiloh Masonic Lodge 552 and a member of Saint Joe Free Will Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Johnson Powers; a brother, Archie Powers; and three sisters, Viola Isom, Floy Powers and Creasie Powers.
Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Ernest and Audra Powers of Russellville; and a sister, Beatrice Smith of Atkins.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Saint Joe Free Will Baptist Church by the Rev. David Downum and the Rev. Leon Hill. Burial will be in Saint Joe Cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins.
Pallbearers:
Active -- Clifford Duvall, Brian Johnson, Johnny Johnson, Jerry Burris, Mike Rackley, Keith Bowden, Stephen Duvall and Dennis Condley.

Mrs. Timothy Linzy, 95, of Russellville, widow of Roscoe Linzy, died Monday, Dec. 4, 2000, at Stella Manor Nursing Center.

Dessie Gibby
MORRILTON -- Dessie Maye McNew Gibby, 89, of Morrilton died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000.
Born June 9, 1911, in Cleveland, Ark., she was the daughter of the late John and Ida Mae Martin McNew, widow of the Rev. Pearl E. Gibby and a member of First Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include three sons, the Rev. Don Gibby and Doyne Sammy Gibby, both of Morrilton, and Richard Dale Gibby of Russellville; a daughter, Dorothy Williams of Morrilton; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First Assembly of God Church by the Rev. Euna Gibby and the Rev. Ronnie Freeman. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery by Harris Funeral Service.
Pallbearers include Rocky Gibby, Randy Gibby, Ronnie Gibby, Rusty Gibby, Rick Williams, Mark Tilley and Mike Tilley.
Frank Klober
DARDANELLE -- Frank J. Klober, 89, of Dardanelle died Monday, Dec. 4, 2000, at Dardanelle Hospital.
He was born June 12, 1911, in Yell County to Emil and Mary Litman Klober and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a son, Roy Lynn Klober of Benton; a daughter, Polly Parsons of Dardanelle; four grandchildren; a nephew, Jimmy Klober of Dardanelle; and two nieces, Billie Reasoner of Dardanelle and Emily McCord of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. today at Cornwell Chapel by the Rev. Bennie Sims.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. today at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Cornwell Funeral Service.

FAIRFAX, Va. -- Jerry Glenn Rachel, 64, of Fairfax, Va., formerly of Russellville, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, at Fair Oaks Hospital in Fairfax.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Benson Rachel; his children, Walter Rachel, Debbie Roche, Becky Godfrey and John Rachel, all of Centerville, Va., and Jennifer Matthews of Broken Arrow, Okla.; his mother, Opal Rachel of Russellville; a brother, Ted Rachel of Sebring, Fla.; a sister, Rita Rachel Brown of Fort Smith; and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at Truro Episcopal Church, 10520 Main St., Fairfax. Arrangements are by Everly Funeral Home in Fairfax.
Frances Barborek
Frances Masek Barborek, 91, of Russellville died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001, at Stella Manor Nursing Home. Born Oct. 20, 1909, at Dardanelle, a daughter of the late Frank and Olga Sevic Masek, she was a member of the Lakeview Extension Homemakers Club and Saint Johns Catholic Church. She married Frank J. Barborek Jr. on June 24, 1935, at Atkins. They were married 59 years and made their home on Norristown Mountain. She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers, Rudolph and Tony Masek. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Frank J. Barborek III and Eve Barborek of Vail, Colo., and Bill and Mary Ann Barborek of Russellville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jo Ann and Bill T. Smith of Russellville and Sara and Gene Prohl of North Little Rock; a sister, Ann Masek Wesley of Dardanelle; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Valerie and Brian Boyce of North Little Rock, Eugene and Toni Prohl of Mountain Home, Michele Dyer of Tucson, Ariz., Michael and Rebekah Barborek of Orange, Texas, Julie and Aaron Dishman of Houston, Texas, and Doug, Greg and Lisa Barborek, and Steve Smith of Russellville; and 10 great-grandchildren, Ethan and Sean Williams, and Emily Prohl of Mountain Home, Jacob and Zachary Boyce of North Little Rock, Canaan and Dilyn Barborek of Orange, Texas, Liza Dyer of Tucson, Ariz., and Ashton Barborek and Dominique Tucker of Russellville. CLARKSVILLE -- Helen Lee Wallace, 88, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001, at her home. She was the daughter of the late John T. and Dovie Jane Bailey Moore, widow of Walter Eugene Wallace and a Baptist. Survivors include a sister, Ruth Bailey of Clarksville; a nephew and his wife, James W. and Sharon Bailey of Clarksville; three great-nieces, Angela Vaught and Melodye Stickley of Clarksville, and Tammy Pearson of Chesterfield, Va. Naomi Hill
Naomi Hill, 86, of Fort Smith, formerly of Russellville, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Alice Clark, widow of Burnie Hill, retired from the payroll department of Whirlpool Corp. and a member of First Christian Church at Fort Smith. She was valedictorian of the 1932 Class of Russellville High School and attended the University of Arkansas. Mrs. Hill was past worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star and past president of Business and Professional Womens Organization and League of Women Voters. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Noble Clark, and a nephew, Bobby Clark. Survivors include a sister, Mae Scott; two nephews, David Clark of Russellville and Dr. Rick Martin of Greenwood; and three nieces, Teddy Martin of Fort Smith, Lea Minor of Tulsa, Okla., and Grace Pumphrey of Springfield, Mo. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Edwards Funeral Home at Fort Smith. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery by Edwards Funeral Service. Pallbearers include Dr. Rick Martin, David Clark, Marvin Minor, Earl D. Martin, Lloyd Pumphrey, Johnny Yusko and Joe Minor. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
