Donald Ray VanSant, 77, of Strawberry, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004. He was born Jan. 6, 1927 in Indianapolis, Ind.
Mr. VanSant was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn M. VanSant of Strawberry; daughters, Deborah K. VanSant of Tucson and Denise Corn of Miamisburg, Ohio; stepdaughter Dawn Willie of Eagle Point, Ore.; stepson Lon Fowler of Minneapolis, Minn.; foster-daughters, Mary Ann O'Neal of Albuquerque, N.M. and Jane Jones of Huntington Beach, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Toby Jaymes Yates, 17, of Payson died Dec. 5, 2005 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix. He was born Sept. 28, 1988 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix.

Janiece Carter, 64, died March 3, 2005, after a 13-year fight with cancer. She was born July 26, 1940 in Osceola, Iowa.
Mrs. Carter was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and the local Reaching Out Breast Cancer Support Group.
She is survived by her husband, Harley Carter of Payson; daughter, Kim Kallmann of Payson; sons, Matt Carter and Mike Carter of Phoenix; brother, Stanley Stickler of Osceola, Iowa; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Kurt Tyler.
Services will be Thursday, March 10, 2005, with viewing at 10 a.m. at Messinger Payson Funeral Home, service at 11 a.m. and the graveside service immediately following.

Rev. Ernest "Skip" P. Ward II, of Huntington, W.Va., and a former resident of Payson, died March 4, 2005 in St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va., following a long illness.

Dennis Lee Dixon, 71, of Payson, died March 2, 2005. He was born July 28, 1933 in Charleston, W. Va.
Mr. Dixon was a retired master sergeant in the Air Force.
He is survived by his parents, Clifford and Ruth Dixon of Palatka, Fla.; wife, Carol Dixon of Payson; daughters, Diane (Jim) Cawley of Glendale, Ariz., Cindy (Duane) Hunt of Tucson, and Pamela (Eric) Deming of Virginia Beach, Va.; brothers, Delano Dixon of Palatka, Fla. and Harley Dixon of King George, Va.; and seven grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 5 at Messinger Payson Funeral Home, 302 W. Aero Drive.
