Joan D. Nolph of Sun City died Aug. 6, 2003. She was 91. Born in Reynoldsville, Pa., she taught at Clearfield High School in Pennsylvania and at a private business school in Syracuse, N.Y., and was an administrative assistant to the director of libraries at Syracuse University. Survivors include her son, C.A. "Bill" Jr.; daughter, Frances Gray; brother, Frank O'Donnel; sister, Martha Bennett; and four grandsons. There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 29, in the chapel at Royal Oaks Lifecare Community, 10015 W. Royal Oak Road, Sun City. Sunland Mortuary.
Joan M.O'Brien of Sun City West died Aug. 18, 2003. She was 70. A native of Yakima, Wash., she came to Arizona in 2000 from Minneapolis. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, Bruce E.; sons Kevin, Stephen, Michael and Bruce II; sister, Patricia Hanrahan; brothers Joseph Morrier, Paul Morrier, Gerald Morrier and Ronald Morrier; and six grandchildren. John W. Over of Surprise died Aug. 11, 2003, in Sun City. He was 89. He came to Arizona in 1987 from his native Minneapolis. He was an employment representative with the Ford Motor Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1964. Survivors include his wife, Burnette; daughter, Carolyn Deacon; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 1, at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 13724 W. Meeker Blvd., Sun City West.
Teressa Darlene Boehm, 87, of east Mesa, died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003, in Mesa. Ms. Boehm was born in Chadron, Neb. Elizabeth Hanes Jackley Dunn, 77, of east Mesa, died Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, in Mesa. Mrs. Dunn, a seamstress, was born in Mason City, Iowa. She is survived by her daughters Jane Angell, Helen Jackley and Maryjayne Schmidt; sons Larry and Tom; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Katherine H. Salamin, 80, of east Mesa, died Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, in Mesa. Mrs. Salamin, a cafeteria manager, was born in Ann Arbor, Mich. She is survived by her husband Andrew; daughters Tanya Salamin, Andrea Stoll and Regina Salamin; sisters Lena Stewart and Toni Rueda; brothers Nicholas and Michael Hedlesky; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren. Blanche Nadine Carl, 93, of east Mesa, died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003, in Mesa. Mrs. Carl was born in Pamona, Calif. Laurence Bruno of Sun City died July 30, 2003. He was 79. Originally from Califormia he served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked as a lithographer. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn. Menke Funeral Home.
Jerelyn Enders of Sun City died Aug. 5, 2003. She was 75. She moved to Arizona in 1987 from Wisconsin. She was a retired country club hostess. She is survived by her daughter, Jill O'Grady; a son, Terrence; and two grandchildren. Wyman Cremation and Burial Chapel.
Dorothy Knotts Gray of Scottsdale, formerly of Sun City, died Aug. 11, 2003. She was 94. She was a homemaker originally from Baltimore. Survivors include her daughter, Dolly Gray Bussard. Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services.
Evelyn Hale of Sun City died July 29, 2003. She was 92. Originally from Kansas, she worked as a bookkeeper. Menke Funeral Home.
