Marilyn I. Sloyer of Sun City West died June 23, 2003. She was 72. Originally from Bucyrus, Ohio, she came to Arizona in 1986 from Walbridge, Ohio. She was a restaurant hostess. Survivors include her longtime companion, Bert Marynowski; daughters Vikki Kutz of Stony Ridge, Ohio, and Linda Gregory of Walbridge; son, Fred Sloyer of Stony Ridge; sisters Marvel Dornan of Thornport, Ohio, Donna Grace Knisley of Hendersonville, Tenn., and Kate Blackford of Buckrus; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Rosemary Volino of Sun City died May 28, 2003, in Mesa. She was 82. She was a homemaker from Illinois. Menke Funeral Home.
Harvey Edward Truesdell, 81, of Sun City, a dentist, died June 8, 2003. Mr. Truesdell was born in Presho, S.D., and moved to Sun City in 1992 from Omaha, Neb. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked in quality control for Unisys Corp. He is survived by his son, Mark, two brothers and one sister. Best Funeral Home.
Willaim John Stewart, Sr., 76, of Sun City, died June 18, 2003. Born in Chicago, Ill., Mr. Stewart served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was also a pipefitter for General Motors. Menke Funeral Home.
Richard McCammon, 78, of Sun City West, died June 16, 2003. Mr. McCammon served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service. He is survived by his wife, Bettye. Camino Del Sol Funeral Chapel and Cremation Center.
Alberta Moore, 97, of Sun City, a homemaker, died June 17, 2003. Ms. Moore was originally from MIchigan. Sunland Memorial Park.
Frederick Guerra, 79, of east Mesa, died Saturday, May 17, 2003, in Mesa. Mr. Guerra, a musician, was born in Boston, Mass. He is survived by his wife Ruth; daughters Denise Coughlan, Paula Gralinski, and Nina Guerra; sons Frederick Jr. and Chris; sister Melinda Maitino; brother John and 12 grandchildren. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 27, at Mariposa Gardens Cemetery Chapel, 6747 E. Broadway Road. Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park and Funeral Care handled arrangements.
Lois Smith Brusman, 86, formerly of Sun City, died May 19, 2003 in Minnesota. Born in Indiana, Ms. Brusman was an accomplished violinist, a string supervisor for schools and was active in the Elkhart, Ind., Symphony. She was also active in the Symphony of the West Valley. She is survived by a son, William; daughter, Betsy Steele; five grandchildren and three sisters.
