James Howard Rustad, 76, of Sun City, died Dec. 1, 2003. James and his wife, Adele, were from Minnesota. He was a postal inspector and served in the Marines during World War II and the Korean War.
Louise K. Olsen, 95, of Sun City, died Dec. 1, 2003. Louise was a retired secretary from New York.
George E. Kerr, 87, of Sun City West, died peacefully Dec. 2, 2003, surrounded by his loving family. A 14-year resident of Sun City West, George was born in Indianapolis on Oct. 2, 1916. He and his wife, Trudy, moved to Arizona following his retirement from Dean Brothers Pumps where he was a sales representative. George was an accomplished duplicate bridge player, having achieved the rank of Silver Life Master. He and Trudy developed a wide circle of lifelong friends through their association with the bridge world. George taught bridge in Indiana, was a member of the American Contract Bridge League and he was a certified bridge director. George was also an avid golfer and scored an unlikely three holes in one in his lifetime. George was a member of the Sun City West KIVA Duplicate Bridge Club, the Posse, and PORA. He was a World War II veteran and received a Purple Heart for service in the Pacific. George is survived by his wife of 65 years and by his three children and their spouses, son, Robert; daughters, Georgianne and Jacqueline; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Elito J. Bongarzone, 84, of Sun City, died Dec. 2, 2003. Elito and his wife, Enes, were from New York. He was a physics professor and served in the Army Corps during World War II.
Jane Lee Burki, 77 of Sun City, passed away Nov. 15, 2003. She was born Nov. 1, 1926 in Uniontown, PA to Clarence and Harriet (Craft) McClain. She moved to Arizona in 1960 and was employed as a Registered Nurse with the Sun Health retiring in 1997. She trained in the U.S. Cadet Nurses Corps of Uniontown, PA in 1944 and the Uniontown Hospital Nursing School in 1947. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church of Sun City where she was a Eucharistic Minister and active in the Ministry of Care and Helping Hands. She was past president of Meals on Wheels. Survivors include her daughters, Jenny (Brian) Markham and Mary Ann (Tom) Jacobs of Phoenix. Uncle, Robert Craft of Sun City. Brother, Kenneth (Cookie) McClain of Ohio. Sister, Carolyn Cappucci of Maryland. Best friend, Monty Langhmer of Sun City. Grandchildren, Brent and Carrie Markham, Jenni Holmes and Timothy Jacobs. Great-grandchildren, Emma and Tanner Holmes. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Avondale. Contributions are suggested to Hospice of Arizona, 2222 W. Northern Ave. Ste. A-100, Phoenix, AZ 85021.
Ehrentraud "Trudy" Allen, 75 ,of Sun City, died Nov. 21. She and her husband Dean moved to Arizona in 1969 from Utah.
Edward W. "Ed" Jamison, 80, of Sun City, died Nov. 20. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. In 1989 Ed moved from Fullerton California to Arizona. He was an office plant manager. Ed. is survived by his two sons, Ed (Chris) III and Jeff, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
