Janette Hypnar, 74, of east Mesa, died Wednesday, May 21, 2003, in Mesa. Mrs. Hypnar, a retired cashier, was born in Detroit, Mich. She is survived by her step-daughters Jane, Joyce and Cathy; son Calvin Fintor and eight grandchildren. Melcher Mortuary Mission Chapel handled arrangements.
John Anselmo, 73, of east Mesa, died Thursday, May 22, 2003, in Mesa. Mr. Anselmo, a plumber, was born in St. Louis, Mo. He is survived by his wife Charlotte; daughter Tina; son Anthony; step-sons Lee, David and Kerry White and sisters Francis Milligan, Angie Peske, Elizabeth Peters and Rosemarie Roberson. Angelo Joseph Citoli, 81, of east Mesa, died Thursday, May 22, 2003, in Mesa. Mr. Citoli, a retired businessman, was born in Bolivar, Pa. He is survived by his daughters Merry and Gina; sons Paul and John and two grandchildren. Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park and Funeral Care handled arrangements.
Sara Mae Alden Hyde, 77, of east Mesa, died Thursday, May 22, 2003, in Mesa. Mrs. Hyde, a homemaker, was born in Pittsburg, Pa. She is survived by her daughters Sandra Hyde and Edrie Ferguson; sons Glenn and Charles Jr.; sisters Ruth, Eleanor and Marie; brothers Elmer, Paul and John and six grandchildren. Dr. Michael Charles Arra, 91, of Sun City West, died May 11, 2003. Dr. Arra served in the U.S. Army-Air Force Medical Corps from 1943-1947. During his professional career, Dr. Arra served as a dentist, chief of dental health for the State of Wisconsin Department of Health and Social Services, an associate professor, dental chief and hospital administrator, and as the director of public Health for Lake County, Ill. Survivors include his wife, Antionette; three sons, Richard Giffin, Michael and Lawrence; three daughters, Sandra Reuss, Lynn Turcott and Carole Arra-Weinberg; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
John Burfening, 84, of Sun City West, a U.S. Army engineer, died May 17, 2003. Born April 30, 1919, in Fargo N.D., he moved to Arizona in 1993 from Alexandria Va. Survivors include his wife, Alleen; a daughter, Joan; a son, Stuart; and two grandchildren. Camino Del Sol Funeral Chapel.
Alyce D. Butler, 77, of Sun City, a homemaker, died May 13, 2003. Born in Sandusky, Ohio, she moved to Arizona in 1983. Survivors include her husband, William; two daughters, Peggy Ann Tweedy and Carol D. Jarosik; a son, Daniel; three grandsons and one granddaughter.
Adolph W. Danbeck, 88, of Sun City, a state trooper, died May 18, 2003. Born in East Orange, N.J., Mr. Danbeck served in the army. He is survived by his wife, Gladys. Best Funeral Services and Chapel.
Hazel Mae Hantke, 106, of Sun City, a homemaker, died May 20, 2003. Born Dec. 11, 1896 in Neillsville, Wisc., she moved to Arizona in 1992. She is survived by her son, Douglas Bud Hantke. Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services.
Janet Priest Morrill, 87, of Sun City West, a bookkeeper and executive secretary, died May 10, 2003. Born Oct. 8, 1915 in Plaistow, N.H., she moved to Arizona in 1992. John F. Scarnavack, 85, of Sun City West, an engineer, died May 18, 2003. Born Mar. 3, 1918 in Chicago, Ill., Mr. Scarnavack served in the U.S. Army-Air Force in WWII.
