Herbert Edward Gunther, 92, of Sun City, died April 17. 2003, while vacationing in Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Myrtle. Survivors include his son, William; his daughter, Myrlette Giddings; a daughter-in-law; a son-on-law; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Cremation was handled by the Cremation Society of Minnesota.
Lou Lanham, 81, of Sun City West, died April 21, 2003. Born in Curtis, Neb., he served in the Army. Survivors include his wife, Mary.
Lyle Warner McKinley, 88, of Youngtown, a farmer, died April 22, 2203. Born in McLean County, Ill., Mr. McKinley and his wife moved to Arizona from Illinois. Francis B. Schmidt, 86, of Sun City, a former postal employee, died April 23, 2003. Born in Allentown, Pa., he moved to Arizona 26 years ago. Mr. Schmidt served in the Army. Mary T. Robbins, 75, of east Mesa, died April 16, 2003, in Mesa. Mrs. Robbins, a homemaker and artist, was born in Philadelphia, Pa. She is survived by her daughter June; sons George and Christopher and five grandchildren. Melcher's Mission Chapel handled arrangements.
William E. Groskreutz, 68, of east Mesa, died April 20, 2003, in Mesa. Mr. Groskreutz, a car man for Sooline Railroad, was born in Kenzel, N.D. He is survived by his companion Lorraine Lindholm; daughter Melody Hofstedt; sons Mark and Monte; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. James Romanyak, 88, of east Mesa, died April 20, 2003, in Mesa. Mr. Romanyak, a heavy equipment welder, was born in Chicago, Ill. He is survived by his wife Helen and son James. Melcher's Mission Chapel handled arrangements.
Edward A. Dudzik, 82, of east Mesa, died April 22, 2003, in Mesa. Mr. Dudzik, a retired expeditor for Motorola and WWII Army veteran, was born in Chicago, Ill. He is survived by his wife Lillian; daughter Susan Dolan; sister Helen Golden; brother John; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Jon Martin Myers, 24, of east Mesa, died April 20, 2003, in Scottsdale. Mr. Myers, a boat launch operator, was born in Medford, Ore. Harold M. "Hal" Fix, 79, of Sun City West, chief of personnel at a VA hospital, died April 15, 2003. Born in Mandan, N.D., he served in the Navy during World War II. Mr. Fix is survived by his wife, Catherine, and one sister. Camino Del Sol Funeral Chapel.
