John Stroberg, 69, of Sun City, died Feb. 20, 2003. Born in Illinios, he served in the military. Mr. Stroberg is survived by his wife, Diane; daughter, Eve Leal, and one grandchild. Sunland Mortuary.
Elizabeth Urban, 87, of Sun City, a telephone operator, died Feb. 21. 2003. She moved to Arizona from Illinois. Menke Funeral Home.
Barbara L. Wallace, 80, of Sun City, died Feb. 19, 2003. Born in California, she is survived by her husband, Kenneth. Sunland Mortuary.
Gordon Ewart Woodburn, 81, formerly of Sun City, died Feb. 16, 2003. From Gonzalez, La., he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Woodburn was a well-known musical performer in the Sun Cities area.
May-Jean Howard, 75 of Stamford, NY and Sun Lakes passed away Feb. 17, 2003 in Stamford, NY in the loving arms of four of her children.
She was born 9 June 1927 in Stamford, New York the daughter of William and Ester Falconer Kendall Warren.
She grew up in Stamford and graduated from Stamford Central School in 1944.
She entered into the U.S. Cadet Nursing Corp after graduating from the Rochester School of Nursing.
She began her career in the Panama Canal Zone where she worked in relief efforts.
There she met Walter Addison Howard. They were married on 1 May, 1951.
She earned her Masters Degree in Psychology and worked extensively in the health care industry as a registered nurse, counselor, businesswoman and consultant while raising a family.
Throughout her life, she traveled extensively and visited or lived in numerous countries including Europe, the Middle East, Africa, South America, the Far East and Antarctica.
After retirement in 1991, May-Jean moved to Sun Lakes where she immersed herself in town activities.
She worked tirelessly to bring a new library to Sun Lakes and was the library's first treasurer.
May-Jean wrote a weekly political column for the Sun Lakes newspaper The Splash called "C-Span Watch."
She was the treasurer for the Sun Lakes Computer Booter club and a member of the Lady Maverick Investment club.
She is survived by her brother John H. (Jack) Friedmann and sister-in-law Dorothy, of Stamford; two daughters; Lara York and husband Jim of Scottsdale, Arizona; Dallis Howard-Crow and husband Sean of Peoria, IL; daughter-in-law Kelly Daley and husband Mike of Palm Springs, CA; step-son Dan Howard and wife Suneeya of Anchorage, AK; two sons; Matt Howard and wife Debbie of College Station, TX; Luke Howard and wife Leverne of Charleston, SC; and 11 grandchildren; Matt, Nathan, Addison, Caroline, Ashley, Amanda, May Jean, Emily, Samantha, Jackson and Lucas; Nieces Catherine L Friedmann of Utica, NY and Cindy L. Friedmann-Sharshon, King Ferry, NY.
She was predeceased in death by a daughter Ami, a step-daughter Kim, a son Samuel and a grandson Joshua.
A memorial service were e held at the Hall Funeral home in Stamford Feb. 20. Memorial donations can be made to Stamford Historical Society or Hospice.
Vi Aulerich, 89, of east Mesa, died Feb. 12, 2003, in Mesa.
Mrs. Aulerich was born in Clayton County, Iowa.
She is survived by her sons Glen, Dean and William; daughters-in-law Sylvia and Mary; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Smith, a homemaker, was born in Green Bay, Wis.

Ms. Adams, a secretary, was born in Minneapolis, Minn.
