Eleanor (Midge) L. Scott, 76, of Sun City, passed away March 25, 2004. She and her husband, Minor, moved from Seattle 15 years ago to Arizona. She was an analyst for Boeing Commercial Aircraft. Survived by husband, Minor M. Scott Jr.; sons, Minor M. Scott III of Evergreen, Colo., Bruce of Seattle; three grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Frances O'Neil Starmann, 86, at peace with God March 24, 2004, was thrilled to live in Sun City West since 1991 during her golden years. A former resident of Chicago, she devoted her life to family, friends, community, church, school, colleges and to service in every imaginable capacity of leadership. For 86 years, she taught love, kindness, caring, giving and compassion each day of her life. She left "heart prints" on thousands during her 86-year journey in our world. Beloved daughter of the late Francis W. O'Neil and Martha Sullivan O'Neil. Devoted wife of the late Geo. H. Jr. Loving mother of Rosemary S. Powers, Geo. H. III, John Francis, and Catherine M. Macellaio. Proud grandmother of Geo. H. IV, Ellen E., John Francis Jr., Scott H. Starmann, Stephen T. Powers III, and Catherine Frances Powers, Patricia M. Mulligan and Michael B. Macellaio, James F. Macellaio Jr. and Jamie Macellaio. Thrilled great-grandmother of Jack B. and Marc J. Mulligan and Brei Frances Starmann. Edwin C. Young Sr., 97, of Sun City passed away March 27, 2004. He was a supervisor for Firestone Tire Company and moved to Arizona in 1977. Arrangements by Sunland Memorial Park.
James "Jim" Mark Ryan, 74, of Sun City passed away May 28, 2004. He and his wife, Madelyn, were from Minnesota. He was a retired crane operator and served in the Army during the Korean War. Arrangements by Menke Funeral Home.
Warren Christiansen, 83, of Sun City West passed away May 28, 2004. He was born Aug. 26, 1920 in Racine, Wis. He and his wife, Rose, moved to Sun City West in 1990 from Brookfield, Wis. He was a job planning supervisor for Western Publishing. He was an Army Topographic Engineer during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Rose; daughter, K.T. John C. Davidson, 94, of Sun City West passed away May 30, 2004. He and his wife, Julia, were from Wisconsin. He was a retired engineer and served in the Navy during World War II. Arrangements by Menke Funeral Home.
Patricia Mary Cross, of Sun City passed away May 26, 2004. She was a professional dancer with the Chez Paree Adorables in Chicago. She worked in men and women's clothing at Baskins in Chicago and the St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco. She also worked at the Lakes Club in Sun City as a ticket seller. She was an alumnae of the Sun City Poms. She is survived by her sister, Virginia Mach of Sun City; 15 nieces and nephews. Arrangements by Menke Funeral Home.
Rachel E. Mohn, 75, of Sun City West passed away May 10, 2004. She moved to Arizona in 1986. She was a real estate counselor for Del Webb for eight years and retired in 1994. She was born Jan. 24, 1929. in Fairview, S.D. She is survived by husband, Jack; sons, Richard of Glendale and David of San Diego; four grandchildren; two brothers; and three sisters. Memorial contributions can be made to the Mayo Clinic Cancer Research, 13400 E. Shea Blvd., Scottsdale, 85259. She will live in the hearts of her loved ones forever because of the way she handled herself with dignity, respect, forgiveness and love. She made a difference in everyone of her loved ones lives.
Marjorie A. Pehrson, of Sun City West passed away May 25, 2004. She was a widow from California. Services were held June 8 at the Epoch Assisted Living of Sun City West. Arrangements by Menke Funeral Home.
Catherine "Cathy" Collier, 90, of Surprise passed away March 19, 2004. She was born July 4, 1913, in Providence, R.I. She moved to Arizona in 1998 from Leesburg, Fla. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, a Charter Member of Lake County Quilters Guild, Grand Stitchers of Sun City Grand. Preceded in death by husband, Rollin, and son, Clifford. She is survived by her daughters, Marguerite Callicott of Asheboro, N.C., and Sandra Cook of Surprise; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Arrangements by del Sol Funeral Chapel.
Henrietta Faye Watson, 68, of Surprise died March 20, 2004. She was born in Sioux City, Iowa, Oct. 11, 1935. She and her husband moved from Colorado Springs, Colo., in 1999 to Arizona. She is survived by husband, Stuart; daughter, Becky Schneider of Walnut Creek, Calif.; son, Jeff Watson of Woodland Hills, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
Frances M. Scharping, 83, of Surprise passed away May 31, 2004. She was born May 13, 1921. in Kinney, Minn. She was a secretary for the state of Arizona. She lived in Arizona from 1966 to 1994 and moved back to Arizona in 2004 from Gilbert, Minn. She is survived by daughter, Kathi Gerfen. Services will be held at a later date. David Stehn, 72, of Surprise passed away May 26, 2004 after a three-year battle with cancer. He was born in Winona, Minn., Dec. 1, 1932. He was the second son of Lloyd and Myrtle Stehn. He graduated from Winona State College where he majored in business. He married Jane Snyder and had two daughters. His parents; wife, Jane; and stepson, Mark Schultz, preceded him in death. He married Calista Peterson October 1981. He worked for Daniel's Hardware at the Winona Mall when they moved to Surprise in 1987. He was manger of Big K Ace Hardware in Youngtown until his health forced him to retire. He loved to golf and read. He is survived by his wife, Calista of 23 years; daughters, Sheryl Stehn-Klouda of Greenfield, Minn., and Joni Stehn of Eden Prairie, Minn.; brother, Jack Stehn of Springfield, Ill.; stepchildren, Dan Howard of Homestead, Fla.; Vick Hanson of Neenah, Wis.; Tim Schultz of Roseville, Ga., Randy Schultz of Prescott, Ariz., Rick Schultz of Roseville, Ga.; sisters-in-law Vi McDonald of Cumberland, Wis., and Rene Pourbucan of Sun City; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. His body has been donated for medical research and his remains will be interred at the National Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix. There will be no memorial service at this time. It broke our hearts to lose you but you did not go alone. Part of us went with you the day God called you home. All our love, Cal and your family and friends.
