Robert Bruce Foree, 95, of Youngtown, died Sept. 25, 2003. He was from Kansas. Mr. Foree, widowed, was the superintendent for Farmers Co-Op. Arrangements by Menke Funeral Home.
Darrow Landis Weaver, 77, of Sun City, died Sept. 27, 2003. He and his wife, Cleone, were from South Dakota. He was a meat cutter and also served in World War II in the U.S. Army. Arrangements by Menke Funeral Home.
Thelma Louise Opatrny, 88, of Sun City, died Sept. 25, 2003. Ms. Opatrny was born in Leroy, Ill. She was a retired assembler in a factory. Ms. Opatrny is survived by sisters, Hazel Madary, Majorie Vance, Maureen Garpe; brothers, Paul, Vernon, and Merle Spratt.
James Ollie Maxwell, 81, of Sun City, died Sept. 25, 2003. He was born in Lexington, Tenn., and moved to Sun City from California in 1998. Mr. Maxwell, widowed, was the owner of a turf supply company. He also served in the U.S. Navy. He is survived by daughters, Carrie Maxwell of Mesa; Eve McAtee of Long Island, N.Y.; Julie May of Costa Mesa, Calif,; son, Joseph Maxwell of Long Island, N.Y.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Kay Engstrom, 66, of Sun City, died Sept. 26. 2003. She was born in Antigo, Wis., and moved to Arizona in 2000 from Racine, Wis. She was a homemaker. Ms. Engstrom was a part of the Sun City Grand Nine-Holers. She is survived by brother, Roy Radke of Racine, Wis.; sister-in-law, Rita Radke of Eugene, Ore.; brother-in-law, Raymond Engstrom of Phoenix; Earl Engstrom of Racine, Wis. Lillian Stanley, 72, died Friday, Sept. 26, 2003. Ms. Stanley was born in New York. She is survived by her sons Joseph W. Stanley, Leonard J. Stanley and Christopher A. G. Dexter Webb, 63, of east Mesa, died Thursday Sept. 25, 2003. Mr. Webb, a property manager, was born in Burlington, Iowa. He is survived by his wife Deloris Webb; three sons; two daughters; two brothers and two sisters. Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park and Funeral Care handled arrangements.
Louise Miles Hammond, 86, of east Mesa, died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2003, in Mesa. Mrs. Hammond, a former mayor of Cochiti, N.M. and loving mother, was born in China. She is survived by her sons Jim and Clive; daughter Mary Ellen Griswold; brother Jim Miles; sisters Carolyn Osborne and Elizabeth Barnett; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Bradley Scott Dilbeck, 27, of east Mesa, died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2003, in Scottsdale. Mr. Dilbeck, a service technician for Chapman BMW in Phoenix, was born in Decatur, Ill. He is survived by his wife Heidi; daughter Elyse; brother Jeffrey; parents Lyndell and Diane.
