Maurine McNeice, 88, of Sun City, died Sept. 14, 2003. Born in Culbertson, Neb., she moved to Sun City from Oklahoma in 1981. Survivors include her sons, Marvin of Fairport, N.Y., Robert, of Novato, Calif.; brother, James Claus; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Martha E. Mershon, 80, of Sun City, died Sept. 11, 2003. Born in Portsmouth, Ohio, she moved to Arizona from Ohio in 1990. Patricia M. Pollard, 74, of Sun City West, died Sept. 22, 2003. Born in Chicago, Ill., she moved to Arizona from San Dimas, Calif., in 1992. Ilse Rubin, 96, of Sun City West, a personnel manager and translator, died Sept. 11, 2003. Born in Bruckhausen, Germany, she moved to Arizona in 2003. Survivors include her nephew, Col. and Mrs. Walter Urbach Jr. of Sun City West; niece, Joan Urbach; nephews, Robert Urbach, Ronald Urbach; 12 great-nieces and nephews. Robert D. Smith, 76, of Sun City West, manager of quality assurance for RCA Victor records, died Sept. 16, 2003. Born in Indianapolis, Ind., he moved to Arizona in 1986. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and past president of the Sun West Art Club. Survivors include his wife, Marian; daughters, Eileen Brewer, Julie Berkholtz, Annette Winter, Gerry Lykens; sons, Mark, Kevin, David; one sister, 14 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Col. Eugene Ernest Wilson, 90, of Sun City West, died Sept. 11, 2003. Born in Vancouver, B.C., Canada, he moved to Arizona in 1973. He spent 25 years in the U.S. Army and Air Force. He was a survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor. He was a co-founder and first president in 1979 of the Property Owners and Residents Association in Sun City West. He is preceded in death by his wife, Marcella. Survivors include his daughter, Janice King of Yorktown, Va., Stefani Maggio of Sun City West; son, Gene Wilson; seven grandchildren. Herbert Edwin Blumenthal, 77, of Sun City, a retired office manager, died Sept. 12, 2003. He moved to Arizona from Illinois. Menke Funeral Home made the arrangements.
William L. George, 71, of Sun City West, died Aug. 25, 2003. Born in Quaker City, Ohio, he was a psychologist for the Veterans Administration. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was a past member of the Phoenicians Barbershop Chorus. His main hobby was restoring a bright red 1955 Thunderbird. Survivors include his wife, Gloria; daughter, Jana George; stepdaughters, Patti Matheson, Lauri Kemper; son, Michael; stepsons, Michael Kemper, Steve Kemper, Mark Kemper, Robert Kemper; two sisters, 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
