Walter Rash, 71, of Apache Junction, died Aug. 22, 2003.
He was a 20-year Staff Sergeant and a native of Brocksburg, Nebraska.
He is survived by a daughter, Deborah Van Guilder; four sisters, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services were held Aug. 28.
Robert Henderson, 78, of Kearney, died Aug. 11.
He was a retired truck driver and a World War II Army veteran. He was a longtime member of the AJ Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, June; a daughter, Babe De'Wolf, three sons, Robert, Barry and Brian Henderson, two sisters, two brothers and nine grandchildren.
Jerry O. Sumner 87, of Salem Ore., died Aug. 12, 2003.
He was a retired mechanic and a former winter resident of Apache Junction. He was born in Stocks, Alberta, Canada.
He is survived by two daughters, Judy Mejia and Peggy Rae; a son, Larry Sumner, two sisters, Laura Aguesto and Joyce Kunze, eight grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.
Charles E. Gemar, 70, of Gold Canyon, died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2003.
Mrs. Kennedy, a retired pyrotechnic mechanic engineer and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, was born in Clark County, Texas.
She is survived by his wife of 47 years, Betty Ann Gemar, two daughters, Becky Rodriguez and Jamie Gemar-Dougherty, three sons, Steven Chuck and James Gemar, a sister, Wanda Scherer and 12 grandchildren.
Services were held at Mariposa Gardens Funeral Care.
Joan Winnette Merritt, 62, of Apache Junction, died Aug. 14, 2003.
She was a homemaker and a native of Holloway, Ohio.
She is survived b her husband, Leon Merritt; four daughters, Patty Medina, Tanya Crawford, Dezra Gable and Barbara Burke, two sons, David and Gary Merritt; a sister, Roxanne Large; two brothers, Larry and Fred Wilson, 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Janice L. Grover, 75, of Apache Junction, died Aug. 17, 2003.
Ms. Grover was an accountant at a credit union and a native of Saginaw, Mich.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond Grover; a daughter, Beth Butler; a son, Hames Grover, a sister, Mary Ellen Pringle; a brother, James Shephard, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
William F. Joseph, 74, of Apache Junction, died Aug. 11, 2003.
Mr. Joseph was a retired state prison guard and a native of LaCrosse, Wis.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma "Mickey" Joseph. Services were held Aug. 16 at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
Caityln Mackenzie Mills, 3, and Samantha Madison Mills, 2, died Aug 16, 2003.
They are survived by their parents, Amanda and Phillip Mills and a brother, Nathan Alexander Mills.

Shirley M. "Sherry" Kennedy, 71, of Apache Junction, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2003, in Mesa.
Mrs. Kennedy, a retired medical researcher, was born in Hopewell, Va.
She is survived by her daughter Jacquelyn Creech and son-in-law Larry; son Thomas Jr. and daughter-in-law Cynthia and five grandchildren.
Services will be held at 4 p.m. Aug. 22 at the Apache Junction Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1650 S. Ironwood in Apache Junction.
