PATTISON, Eleanor, 91, of Tucson, died October 25, 1999. Survived by daughters, Nancy Overstreet and Peggy Woosley, both of Tucson, Molly (Joe) Kerwin of Ventura, CA; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. preceded in death by husband, Irwin Pattison and granddaughter, Karin Kerwin. Memorial Mass offered Thursday, 9:00 a.m. St. Odilia's Church, 7570 N. Paseo Del Norte. Private interment Evergreen cemetery. Arrangements by EVERGREEN MORTUARY & cemetery.

RATLIFF, Doyle E., 71, of Tucson, died on October 22, 1999. Survived by wife, Marilyn; daughter, Rhonda (Dave) Bushell; two grandchildren, Todd and Katie, all of Tucson. Private services were held. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, (Dodge Chapel), 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway)

ROBINSON, Rodney L., was born February 12, 1952, passed away Saturday, October 23, 1999 at Tucson Medical Center, surrounded by those who love him. Left to mourn are his parents, R.L. Robinson and Lucille Payne; stepmother, Ruby Robinson; three sons, three daughters, three brothers, four sisters, four grandchildren, uncles aunts and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and many special friends. A longtime member of South Park and Upper Room COGIC. Services will be held 10:00 a.m., October 29th at South Park Church of God in Christ, 2419 South Park Ave., with Pastor James O. High officiating. Memorial viewing service, Thursday evening from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Adair Funeral Home, Dodge and Speedway. Rodney touched many lives with his loving personality and we will remember his kindness.

SEITZ, Jean Doris, 74, died October 23, 1999. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

HOMAN, Lois J., went to be with the Lord on October 27, 1999. A Memorial Service will be held at 8230 E. Broadway, Ste. W8, on Saturday, October 30, 1999 at 4:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society by calling 1-800-227-2345.

PEAK, Florence V., 62, died October 26, 1999. Daughter of Stella Peak; sister of Barbara Nordlund, Ernest Peak, and Lloyd J. Peak, Jr; eight nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial Service 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 1, 1999 at St. Frances de Sales Catholic Church, 1375 S. Camino Seco. Donations in Florence's memory may be made to Children's Clinics for Rehabilitative Services, 2600 N. Wyatt Drive, Tucson, AZ 85712. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

Captain Joseph Ferrell Colton
(Master Mariner, Marine Consultant, Author, and Venturer).
The son of Mary-Russell Ferrell Colton (Artist) and Dr. Harold Sellers Colton (Scientist) founders of The Museum of Northern Arizona, he was born 30, August, 1914, in Ardmore, Pennsylvania.
Capt. Colton suffered a massive stroke on October 12, at his Tucson home. He was taken to Tucson Medical Center, but never regained consciousness, and passed away on 18, October, 1999.
At just under the age of 16, he went to sea, subsequently rising from Ship's Boy to Master, sailing in some 21 Merchant sailing and powered vessels of six nations. Colton was one among the few survivors of the men who manned the last Square-rigged Merchant Sailing vessels.
Capt. Colton was a six-year veteran of World War II, the last four years as a member of the United States Coast Guard. He participated in the invasions of Normandy as Chief Boatswain Mate.
Capt. Colton was the author of several books, dealing with marine history, and a plethora of articles and papers on the subjects of government, hydrography, and marine history, published in Australia, England, and the United States of America.
In the period of 1948-1968 he was involved in Arizona Politics. He ran twice for the State Senate, was Chairman of the Coconino County Republican Central Committee, and member and sometime Chairman of the Arizona Commission on the Indian Affairs. He, also served as a Deputy Sheriff, under Sheriff Cecil Richardson.
After 1962, Capt. Colton lived for a decade in Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico, followed by ten years in Tahiti. In 1983, he and his family moved to Molokai, Hawaii.
Colton graduated from Flagstaff High School in 1933, and undertook, further formal education at the University of Arizona, Tucson.
At one time or another, Capt. Colton was a member of numerous organization, professional or otherwise. He was a founding member of Arizona Academy of Science; Association Amicale Des Capitaines Au Long Course Cap-Horniers (Aland, Finland); Cape-Horners, Australia; Director of the Foundation for the Higher Education of the American Indian; Delta Chi Fraternity; The American Red Cross, Flagstaff Chapter; 27 years Trustee of Museum of Northern Arizona; 36 years in Rotary International; and the American Legion, to name a few.
He is survived by his wife and partner of many years, Paula-Lita Ruiz Colton, and their three children, Janet Russell, Elise Belen, and Hari Sinquet Colton. Two other daughters (by a former marriage), Robin Susanne and Ferrell Denise Colton. In addition, are four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

DAVIS, Mary H., 75, of Tucson, passed away on October 25, 1999, after a bout with cancer. She leaves behind her husband of 47 years, Kenneth; children, Richard (Wendy), Janet (Russ) Gardner and Virginia (Dave) Jacobson; seven grandchildren; brother, Robert Simons; and sister, Janet Peters. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 30, 1999, at Catalina United Methodist Church, 2700 E. Speedway Blvd. Mary served over 10 years as a volunteer for the Community Food Bank. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Mary's memory to Community Food Bank, 3003 S. Country Club Rd., Tucson, AZ 85713. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave. at Magee.

THOMAS PETER GALLAND, 60, entered into heaven October 22, 1999. Survived by his wife, Carol; daughter, Ann; son, Peter and his wife Tricia; grandchildren, Greg, Amanda, Briana, Mark and Holly; brother, Bob; sisters, Patty and Barbara. Preceded into heaven by parents, Frank and Anna; brother, Franny; and sisters, Mary Ann and Gloria. Tom was founder of Sabino Practical Shooters, Satellite Club of Tucson Rod and Gun Club. Lifetime member and supporter of Tucson Rod and Gun Club, N.R.A. and a C.C.W. instructor. After a brave and lengthy battle with cancer, and never complaining, Tom has gone home to be with his Lord in heaven. We miss him. Memorial service to be held 4:00 p.m. Friday, October 29, 1999 at St. Cyril's Church, 4725 E. Pima.

JASON, Eleanor 'Ellie' born April 21, 1918 in Omaha, Nebraska, passed away October 25, 1999 in Green Valley.
She was very active as a member of the Lutheran Church of the Risen Savior and the Green Valley Country Club.
Ellie was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Jason in December, 1997.
Survivors include: her brother, Donald F. Raschke and sister-in-law, Helen R. Raschke of Omaha, NE; her stepdaughters, Sharon Hanke of Idaho Springs, CO, Barbara J. Lane of Alto Loma, CA, and Jeanette Bosch of Spokane, WA; several nephews; many grandchildren; and a niece.
Eleanor was blessed by the love of her family and wonderful friends. Most recently in Green Valley, also in Sioux Falls, SD and Omaha, NE.
Remembrances may be made in her name to the Lutheran Church of the Risen Savior, 555 S. La Canada, Green Valley, AZ 85614 or the Lutheran Hour Ministries, 2185 Hampton Ave., St. Louis, MO 63177-9990.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 29, at the Lutheran Church of the Risen Savior in Green Valley.

SMITH, Golden A., 89, died October 25, 1999. Husband of Harriet Smith; father of Frieda J. Blakely of Glendale, AZ, George R. Smith of Perrysburg, OH, Jack L. Smith of Berea, KY, Sue Henderson, Vivian Tripp and James F. Smith all of Tucson; grandfather of 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mr. Smith was a retired electrician and lived in Tucson for 22 years. Funeral service 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 29, 1999 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL. Burial will follow at East Lawn cemetery. Friends may call from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 28, 1999 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

VERRIER, C. Maxine, born October 12, 1917, died August 12, 1999. A Memorial Service for Maxine Verrier will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 30, 1999 at the Santa Catalina Mission, 14380 North Oracle Road, Catalina, Arizona. We invite all her friends to join the family in remembering Maxine. A Luncheon will be served immediately following the service. Maxine is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles R. Verrier. She is survived by her loving family and friends including sisters, Monelle Klotz (Joseph), and Jeanne Jones (Casey); and brother, Ted Cox (Maryann) and many nieces and nephews; also survived by the children of her blended family, Barbara Meiklejohn, Michael Verrier and Sylvia, Marlene Rankin, Donald Verrier, Suzanne Hibbing and Michelle Verrier as well as other family members.

CHILCOTT, Ronald Kent, 47, of Tucson, died Wednesday, October 27, 1999 after a brave fight against cancer. He was an accomplished long-haul trucker for many years, and the last few years worked for Domino's Pizza. He is survived by his loving wife, Deborah; sons, Thomas, Troy and Doug; daughter, Stephanie; three grandsons, Michael, Joshua, and Brandon; father, Darrel Chilcott; brothers, James and William; sisters, Katherine and Janet. He was preceded in death by his mother in 1968. Memorial Services will be held at noon on Sunday, October 31, 1999 at HEATHER MORTUARY, 1040 N. Columbus Blvd. Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 1636 N. Swan Rd., Tucson, 85711.

ROSA LILLIAN DAVIS, 80, died October 27, 1999. Mother of Robert Davis of Colorado and Charles Davis of Texas; two grandchildren, also survive. She came from a family of nine and surviving are: Earl and Marvin Reinhold, Ruth Humke and Dorothy Gapp. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul, Carl and James Reinhold and her sister, Ila Reinhold. She was born on a 3, 040 acre homestead on May 2, 1919 near Rapid City, South Dakota and was a graduate of the Rapid City High School. Rosa worked as a cook and later moved to San Diego, CA. While in San Diego she worked in the Commercial Division of Bank of America. There she met and married Charles M. Davis. Mrs. Davis attended the University of Arizona and the family permanently moved to Tucson in the early 60's. Her husband Charles died in 1976 and she later married Joe Karklys. Rosa was an active member of the Assistance League of Tucson, Indian Ridge Garden Club, Palo Verde Mental Health Foundation and The University of Arizona Foundation. After a long battle with Parkinson's Disease and Breast Cancer, Rosa passed away on October 27, 1999 at El Dorado Hospital. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 30, 1999 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rosa's memory may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association, 2501 E. Elm, T/A 85716 or The American Cancer Society, c/o Breast Cancer Research, 1636 N. Swan, Ste. 116, T/A 85712. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

DON, Brenda J., 54, of Tucson, passed away on October 27, 1999. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cindy Salas. Survivors include her loving husband, Alfred; children, Briana and Amanda; her mother, Mary Borden; one sister, Diane (Dwayne) Thornton, plus many other loving relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Ave., Saturday, October 30, 1999 at 11:00 a.m.

FLANAGAN, Travis, Jr., 51, of Tucson, died Wednesday, October 27, 1999 in Safford, Arizona. He is survived by his wife, Patti of Tucson; children, Zane, Tracie, Stephanie; mother, Bobbie Flanagan of Clifton, AZ; brother, Wayne Flanagan of Tucson; sisters, Saundra Summers of Duncan, AZ, Carrolyn Salyer of Pima, AZ; and many other relatives and friends. Mr. Flanagan was a member of New Life Wesleyan Christian Center. He retired from the University of Arizona, Facilities Management Dept. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 28, 1999 at HEATHER MORTUARY, 1040 N. Columbus Blvd. Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 30, 1999 at East Lawn Palms cemetery, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc., 40 N. Swan Rd., Tucson, 85711.

HOKANSON, Elmer Eugene, born February 21, 1911 on a farm near Warroad, MN, age 88, of Tucson, passed away peacefully October 28, 1999 at Devon Gables Health Care Center. Elmer resided there with his wife, Audrey for five years until she passed away April 12, 1999. They were high school sweethearts in Warroad and were married on July 7, 1933.
Elmer is survived by three children, John (Paula) Hokanson of Tucson, Dale (Sonja) Hokanson of Pullman, WA, and Darlene (DeLoy) Hanson of Ventura, CA; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Ann List of St. Paul, MN.
Elmer was with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service for 38 years and retired while working with the U.S. Forest Service Equipment and Development Center at San Dimas, CA. He was a recipient of many awards for inventions and ideas to maintain America's healthy and thriving forests.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of EAST LAWN MORTUARY.
