JACKSON, Florence Opal, 82, passed away peacefully at Manor Care Nursing Home on October 29, 1999 after a long struggle with Alzheimer's Disease. She is survived by Errit, her husband of 58 years; her daughter, Susan (Stan) Rieger of Sycamore, IL; and three grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew, and Sarah. She is also survived by her sister, Deloris McDonald of Colorado Springs, CO; and her brother, Scott (Cora Belle) Hall of Ft. Collins, CO. Florence was born December 1, 1916 on a farm in Newalla, OK, where she and her seven brothers and sisters grew up. She graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1938 and taught school for two years before marrying Errit on June 21, 1941. After WWII, they moved to Phoenix and then settled permanently in Tucson in 1959. Florence spent her live providing a loving home for her husband and daughter. She was active in their church and in Gideons Auxiliary. Memorial Service will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 2 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1825 N. Alvernon Way. OSWALD, Kathleen Ruth Preston 77 died Friday, October 29, 1999 at her home in Tucson Arizona.
Mrs. Oswald was born September 9, 1922 in Mansfield Ohio to Burton Robinson and Kathleen Elliot Preston. She was graduated from Mansfield Senior High School, and attended the University of Michigan and the Ohio State University. She lived in Mansfield until 1961, when she married
Richard P. Oswald and moved to Tucson Arizona.
She worked at Likely Rocket in Mansfield and then joined her husband as owners of Richard Oswald Interiors until retirement. She was a member of Grace-St. Paul's Episcopal Church where she was treasurer of the alter guild and coordinator of the office volunteers. Mrs Oswald recently received a fifty year award for her service to the American Red Cross.
Mrs. Oswald is survived by two nephews, Burton L. Preston and John Bradford Preston; one niece, Wendy Preston Roper; and two sisters-in-law, Lee Preston and Helen Oswald.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard P. Oswald and her brother, Burton Preston.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 1999 at 2:00p.m. at the Grace-St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Tucson, Arizona.

MABEL 'PAT' (MCMAHON) ALQUIST, 88, of Tucson, died peacefully on October 30, 1999. preceded in death by husband, Wayne and son-in-law, Gary Koepp. Survived by her children, Jon Alquist of Tucson, Sue Koepp of Ruidoso, N.M., Deborah (Robert) Garrett of Sierra Vista, and Lynda (Mark) Hanna of Tucson. Also survived by grandchildren, Rod, Guy and Joel Koepp, Eva Hanna, and Lacey and Neal Garrett.
Born in Victor, Iowa on November 11, 1910. She was a graduate of the University of Iowa, majoring in English and Drama. She moved to Tucson in 1944. After her husband's retirement, she was a part time resident of Pinetop, Arizona for 20 years.
Pat will be remembered as a wonderful mother who nurtured and guided her children, letting them go when the time was right. She will also be remembered as a caring teacher, with a career spanning from a one room Iowa school house to the Tucson public schools. She was active in her church and volunteered at University medical Center and Navapache Hospital. She also enjoyed traveling, reading and sports, especially cheering for the Arizona Wildcats.
The family thanks the Waverly House Assisted Living Home staff and residents for the care and friendship they gave her in the last two years.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 5 at 3:00 at St. Peter and Paul Church at Campbell Ave. and Lee St. The funeral mass will be offered at 4:00. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Casa de los Ninos.
