BLACKMAN, Robert Woodrow, 82 years old, died on Monday, November 1, 1999 in Tucson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Byrdie and Harry; and his sister, Margie Bernie. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Audrey; brother, Ralph and sister-in-law, Judy of Tucson; and nieces and nephews. After returning from his service from World War II, he became a professional ice skater touring with the Olympic Gold Medal Skating Champion, Sonya Henie, as her dancing partner. Subsequently, he became associated with Capezio designing shoes for famous actresses. Eventually opening his own shoe boutique store in New York City. He arrived in Tucson in 1980 where he opened La Feete, a designer shoe boutique. Donations may be made to the Humane Society or charity of choice. COBBE, Doris Jayne, born June 25, 1922, died October 20, 1999 after a long battle with lung cancer. preceded in death by husband, Alexander Frandsen (Copenhagen, Denmark), husband, Thomas J. Cobbe (Los Angeles, CA); and brother Alfred 'Bud' Rowan (Jessica) of San Diego, CA. Survived by son, Thomas Frandsen; daughter, Karin Frandsen Blute (Dr. James F., III); and grandchildren, Alexandria Lorraine Blute and Victoria Marie Blute, all of Tucson, AZ. Also survived by sisters, Mary Ellen Rasmussen (Robert) of Sequim, WA, Marcella Hergenrather (Harold) of West Covina, CA, Jessie Elizabeth Jones (Heber) of Fullerton, CA, Margie Arlene Palmer of Whittier, CA; and brother, Melvin Franklin Rowan (Alyce) of Hacienda Heights, CA, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. A private memorial service is to be held on Cape Cod, MA. EVELYN ST. CLAIR-WRIGHT ENSDORFF, 79, died October 30, 1999 in Reno, Nevada. Born in Banglore, India February 25, 1920, she was the daughter of a British colonial administrator. She grew up in the unique world of the British Raj until it was shattered by World War II. At that time, she met a dashing American officer from Arizona, Harry W. Morse, coming to the U.S. in 1946 to marry. As the wife of a career military officer and defense consultant over three decades, she raised three sons at duty stations in the United States, Central America, and Europe. In 1982, she married
John Ensdorff and remained his beloved wife until his death in 1996. preceded in death by her mother, Mary Wright; her father, Winifred Wright; her brother, Patrick Wright; her son, Harry M. Morse; and her husband, John Ensdorff. Survived by her sons, Derek (Jean) Morse of Nevada and Patrick (Kit Dickey) Morse of Minnesota; two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

FRANK RIVERA, age 58, of Tucson, died Thursday, October 28, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Maria Lupe Rivera; aunt, Josie Tellez; brothers and sisters, Vicente (Kathy) Rivera, Irene (Guadalupe 'Buddy') Sanchez, Irma Rachel (Felix) Rico, Johnny (Blanche) Rivera, Paul (Olivia) Rivera, Ciro (Vanna) Rivera, David (Odilia) Rivera, Rebecca Rivera; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Merejildo and Nasaria Rivera; and sister, Bernice Rivera. Mr. Rivera was active for the last five years in the Retired and Senior Volunteer program of the Pima Council on Aging and the Armory Center. An all-night wake will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, November 5, 1999 at Cristo Rey Church, New Pascua Pueblo with recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday at Cristo Rey. ELLEN JEAN (KEIRN) SWAN died in Tucson, AZ on November 1, 1999. She was born April 21, 1926 in Gary, Indiana to Edgar J. and Thelma J. (McDermott) Keirn. She was a 1943 graduate of Emerson High School in Gary. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her sister, Margaret R. Cushman. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, James R. Swan; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Alice Blackburn of Hendersonville, Tennessee; daughter, Nancy Nadine Swan of Indianapolis, IN; grandson, Christopher Blackburn; granddaughter, Amy Blackburn; step grandson, Chad Gates; and numerous cousins.
Mrs. Swan was active in Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and P.T.A. while her children were young. She served as President of the P.T.A. of Edgelea School in Lafayette, IN and of Schools 94 and 98 in Indianapolis, IN. She was an Honorary Life Member of the Indiana State Parent Teacher Association.
Jean became involved in Republican Party politics after the couple moved to Noblesville, Indiana in 1972. She served as a precinct committee woman, Noblesville City Chairman and Hamilton County Vice Chairman. In 1986 she was awarded the title Hamilton County Republican Woman of the Year by then Indiana Governor Robert Orr. She was Hamilton County Coordinator for Senator Dan Quayle's run for re-election in 1986 and for his run for Vice President of the United States in 1988.
During the time she resided in Noblesville, Jean also served as Secretary to Hamilton County Superior Court II and was manager of an Indiana State Bureau of Motor Vehicles branch.
Jean was an avid duplicate bridge player throughout her adult life. She usually belonged to more than one bridge club. When her husband retired in 1992, the couple moved to Arizona, where they took up residence in Oro Valley. Jean was a member of the Oro Valley Republican Women's Club, the American Sewing Guild and the Bernina Sewing Club.

MARY LOUISE 'LOU' TUDOR, 72, passed away October 31, 1999. preceded in death by husband, Marlin F. 'Stumpy' Tudor. WHITNEY, The Rev. Dr. Arthur P., born August 3, 1910 in Connecticut, died October 26, 1999 in Tucson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Henry and Frances Whitney; one sister, and two brothers. He is survived by two nieces and a host of friends. He graduated from high school in Brooklyn, N.Y., received a B.A. from Brothers College of Drew University and M.Div. from Drew Theological Seminary, Madison, N.J. He received a Ph.D from New York University, N.Y. and served as pastor of Lynbrook Methodist Church, Lynbrook, N.Y. before becoming Director of Field Work, and later Vice-President of Drew University. He then served as Vice-President of The American Bible Society in New York City. After retirement in 1976, Dr. Whitney moved to Tucson, where he has been an active member and Pastor Emeritus of Catalina United Methodist Church. While there he helped found the Harmony Bible Class, which today bears his name. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held in the Catalina United Methodist sanctuary on November 15 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Catalina United Methodist, 2700 East Speedway. YOST, William of Tucson passed away on October 28, 1999. He was born August 6, 1923 in Rockville, CT and educated in the local schools.
He entered the Army Air Corps in 1942, and was a crew chief in a B-24 Liberator in the European Theatre with the 459th Bomber Group.
He graduated from Cincinnati School of Arts & Science in 1948 and established the William Yost Funeral Home in Stafford Springs, CT in 1949.
He is a past president of the Rotary Club, chairman of the American Red Cross, and District Chairman of the Boy Scouts of America.
He moved to Tucson in 1973 and was on Staff at the University Hospital until his retirement in 1987. He worked as a consultant for SCI Funeral Services in Tucson the last few years.
He leaves a son and daughter-in-law, William Yost Jr. and Peggy Yost; and a daughter, Barbara Titus all of Manchester, CT; three grandchildren, Mrs. Jessica Rivera, Mrs. Amy Edberg and Thomas Titus.
Memorial Services will be at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Rd. at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 6, 1999.

RANDOLPH, Alan D., 65, of Tucson, died Monday, November 1, 1999. Born March 25, 1934 in Muskogee, OK. Survived by his wife, Peggy; sons and daughter, Theodore W. Randolph (Catherine) of Niwot, CO, David Randolph of St. Louis, MO and Kirsten Zamora (Luis Ernesto): granddaughters, Isabel and Margaux Randolph, Emilia Zamora; and grandson, Matthew Alan Zamora; and sister, Norma Yoak of Ft. Pierce, FL. He was Professor Emeritus of Chemical Engineering at the University of Arizona where he taught for 27 years. 49 graduate students received their MS or Phd degrees under his direction. Known internationally as an expert in the field of crystallization, he successfully joined academic responsibilities with service to industry. Complications from multiple sclerosis caused his early retirement in 1995.
He was an AIChE Fellow and a member of Tau Beta Pi, Pi Kappa Phi, Phi Lambda Upsilon, Sigma Tau and the ROCK Society for urolithiasis research. Dr. Randolph received numerous awards including the Engineering Achievement Alumni Award from both University of Colorado and Iowa State University, and the Clarence Gerhold Award in Chemical Engineering from the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.
He will be remembered for his constant faith in God which never wavered during his 18 year struggle with MS, his wonderful devotion to family and his high enthusiasm for his work.
Services will be at El Camino Baptist Church, 7777 E. Speedway Blvd., November 6 at 10:00. Interment will follow at East Lawn cemetery.
A memorial fund, Alan Randolph Memorial Scholarship, will be established at the University of Colorado to benefit chemical engineering students.

GEORGE SMALL died in an aircraft accident on Sunday, October 31, 1999 while en route to Egypt with a tour group that was to travel down the Nile River. George was born June 30, 1925. He is joining his wife of almost 50 years, Gloria, who passed away January 27, 1998. He is survived by his sister, Betty Mattell; son, Mitchell and his wife, Sharon; two grandchildren, David and Megan. George served in the Army Air Force during WWII and briefly taught radio electronics in Japan after the war. In the mid 1950's, he joined IBM where he became involved with many of the companies early developments. His last move with IBM brought him to Tucson where he helped establish the Printer Products Division in the late 1970's. After retirement, he continued his active involvement with many civic and fraternal organizations, both on his own and in conjunction with his wife, including Hadassah. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 5, 1999 at Temple Emanu-El, 225 N. Country Club Road, Tucson, AZ.
