Mary Inez Schoen, 72, of Tucson for 29 years, passed away at home on November 9, 1999, surrounded by her family. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose wonderful attitude about life will be missed by all who knew her. We are comforted knowing that she has entered the Kingdom of God and is resting with our Lord.
She was born on February 27, 1927 in Bismark, North Dakota and lived many years in Hastings, Minnesota.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Lt. Col (USA Ret) Harry P. Schoen, Jr; children, Barbara Schoen (Tucson), Harry Schoen (Salt Lake City), James and Gerry Schoen (Tucson) and Capt. Kurt and Salli Schoen (Charleston, SC); grandchildren, Nicole, Michael, Cheyanne and Daisy; and brothers and sisters, Angela Savoie (Hemet, CA), Bernadette Gundy (Fairfield Glade, TN), Muriel Heisler (Camarillo, CA), Phillip Savoie (Brainard, MN), Edward Savoie (Hastings, MN), Paul Savoie (Kenduskeage, ME) and Matthew (Jerry) Savoie (Laughlin, NV).
She is preceded in death by her parents, (Edward and Marie Savoie) and her brother, Ulrich (Rick) Savoie who she is with now.
Mary graduated from the Villa Maria Academy in Frontenac, MN and from the University of Arizona. She worked as the accountant for the Sahuaro Council of the Girl Scouts of America. She was an active member of Sts Peter and Paul Parish and was a member of the Newman Center Sustaining Board. She was an avid golfer and skier. However, her favorite pastime was spending time with her children and grandchildren, and many friends.
A visitation and rosary will be held at ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway), on Thursday, November 11, 1999 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at Sts Peter and Paul Catholic Church on Friday, November 12, 1999 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society.

SNYDER, Hartley D., Phd, was born in Columbus, OH in 1903 and died in Santa Rosa, CA October 25, 1999. Dr. Snyder was a professor of Music Education at the University of Arizona from 1938 to 1955. During that time he was the Music Director of St. Philips in the Hills Episcopal Church. Dr. Snyder retired as head of the Music Department at San Jose State University in 1972. He was a resident of San Diego, CA for 25 years. He is survived by his son, William; grandsons, Steven and Wade; and three great-grandchildren, William, Stephanie and Suzanne. He will be dearly missed.
MILDRED HENRICI VETTE, 82, passed from this life on Tuesday, August 24, 1999 in Marietta, GA. A longtime resident of Tucson, Mrs. Vette served as a Navy Wave in WWII and was a retired beautician. Mildred was one of seven children born to her parents in Chicago where she resided before moving to Tucson in 1963. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Valerie and Tim Willis; son and daughter-in-law, Wally and Johnine Vette; grandchildren Christine Barker and her husband Burney; and Ashley Saccomando and her husband John; sister Dorothy Dahlin; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. BLOOM, Adeline Celia Greenberg, 79, passed away after a brief illness on November 10, 1999. preceded in death by her first husband, William V. Greenberg. She is survived by her husband, Louis Bloom of Tucson; daughter, Eileen M. Greenberg of Woodbridge, VA; son, Bruce D. (Alayne) Greenberg of Tucson; sister, Rita B. Gordon of Harrisburg, PA. She is survived by seven grandchildren. A resident of Tucson since 1961, Mrs. Bloom was a co-owner of Deluxe Cleaners and the former bookkeeper of the University of Arizona School of Law. She was a member of Congregation Anshei Israel and Sisterhood. CASILLAS, Narciso 'Chicho' R., 68, Retired USAF Veteran, died Wednesday, November 10, 1999 at his home in Tucson, Arizona. He was born October 29, 1931 in Tucson, Arizona. He lived in Tucson, Arizona all his life.
He is survived by his wife, Maria; daughters, Antonia (Chino) Casillas, Marie Casillas; son, Richard (Maria); brothers, Oscar, Ramon, Alex, and Frank Casillas; sisters, Dolores Contreras, Aurora Duarte; and grandchildren, Paul Casillas, Nikki Casillas and Joey Castaneda.
He was preceded in death by his father, Juan Casillas and his mother, Maria Romero.
He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam Era.
Visitation will be held at MARTINEZ FUNERAL CHAPELS, 2580 S. 6th Ave. on Sunday, November 14, 1999 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Sunday. COVEAUGH, Jennet Lee Rodegeb, born in Elkhart, Indiana October 3, 1916, died in Tucson, Arizona on November 8, 1999 at 83 years. Jennet graduated from Elkhart High School in 1934. She was a bookkeeper and then an inspector for Morgan Driveaway in Elkhart. Jennet and her husband Walter moved to Tucson from Elkhart, Indiana in 1979 after selling their antique business, the Red Shed. They were listed in the Who's Who in Antiques. Jennet and Walter loved the desert. Both were founders of the Wagons West Travel Trailer Association in Tucson where they lived for many happy years. Walter passed away in 1983, now Jennet has join him. After Walter's passing, Jennet's greatest joy was taking care of cats and dogs creating another career for herself as a house and pet sitter. She was a great animal lover. Jennet led travel trailer trips around the southwest; she volunteered at the Tucson Visitor's Center and the St. Philip's Gift Shop. Jennet was a wonderful friend and will be sadly missed by all her friends; her niece, Karen Shackle (Jim) of Elkhart, nephew, Roger Watts (Sally) of Tucson and their families.

VICTOR ERNEST HICKS passed away November 10, 1999 at Valley Healthcare where he had resided for the last four months. He was born in Franklin County Arkansas on February 21, 1913 to Bailey and Georgia Hicks. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Cleo; and his six brothers, Bailey, John, Guy, Bill, Paul (Doc), and George (Pete). Survivors include daughter, Jana; son, Dan (Susan); grandchildren, Jacque, Kim, Mac, Darren; and great- grandchildren, Kelsey and Natasha.
Victor was a bartender for 52 years starting at the Arizona Inn, Pioneer Hotel, Pago Pago, and the Packem Inn. For a short time he worked at the defense plant during WWII here in Tucson. He made many friends and never forgot their names. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, November 12, 1999 at EAST LAWN PALMS CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Road, where funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 13, 1999. Burial to follow at East Lawn Palms cemetery.

HOWELL, Herbert Max, passed on November 10, 1999 to meet with his predeceased parents, Ralph and Alta (Harris) Howell; twin sister, Helen Maxine; sisters, Lorene Howell, Beatrice Worline and Elsie Hardesty.
Survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty Jean (Winters) Howell; sons, Steven (companion, Irlene Warner), and Dennis (Phyllis); grandson, Capt. Matthew (Lt. Commander Paula Coleman, U.S.N.) Senn, U.S.M.C.; granddaughter, Tammie Senn; great granddaughter, Symantha Senn; sister, Delores Larimore of Marion, IN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Herbert was born April 4, 1921 in Fairmount, IN. He served in the Pacific from 1942 to 1945 with the Marine Corps. He farmed in Indiana until 1962, when the family moved to Tucson. In 1972, they moved to Happy Acres South in Marana. He retired from C.D.O. in 1983. He fought a hard battle with heart disease and cancer. He was a gentle soul, who will be missed greatly.

HOYNE, Raymond M. 'Ray' born on May 10, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois, passed away November 9, 1999 at the Houston Methodist Medical Center. Ray retired to Tucson from the Chicago area in 1987 and was a lifetime member of B.P.O.E. Elks, Lodge 385. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond, Sr. and Wanda Hoyne, and leaves behind his wife, Elaine T. Hoyne; daughter, Lisa Rempe of Sierra Vista; son, Michael Hoyne (Rima) of Tullahoma, Tennessee; grandsons, Brian and Chad Hoyne and Tyler and Brad Rempe; brothers-in-law, J.P. LANGFORD, Violet, of Tucson, passed away on November 10, 1999. She was born November 27, 1916 near Baxtor, MO to Julius and Bertha Dotson and was the youngest of four children. She was wed to O.W. Langford on August 18, 1944. They moved to Arizona in 1946. She received her bachelors degree from the University of Arizona in 1950 and her masters degree in 1959. She taught in the local school districts for many years until her retirement in 1982. She is survived by her stepson, Jerry Langford of Overland Park, KS; a stepdaughter, Norma Alejandro of Beaumont, TX; one sister, Fern Dooling of Marionsville, MO; four step grandchildren, five step great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many other loving family members and friends. LINDERS, Harold Z., DDS, 89, died November 5, 1999, born in St. Louis, MO June 6, 1910. Survived by companion, Rosemarie Bremer, long-time dental nurse, secretary and friend of the family; loving daughters, Dr. Joyce (Gary) McKay, and Jackie Wessel; grandchildren, Jennifer and Kristin Wessel and Robert Binz; great grandson, Michael Binz; sister, Ethel Hundman; several nieces and nephews. preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn. Harold practiced dentistry in St. Louis, MO from 1934 until he retired in 1975, most of that time in the city of Normandy. He also taught at Washington University Dental School from 1946 through 1950 and served in the U.S. Army Dental Corps, during WWII, Rhineland, Air Offensive Europe Ground Combat, Normandy and Northern France. He participated in the 50th Anniversary of DDay. A member of the Norwood Hills Country Club, St Louis, MO for over 50 years. MARTS, Paul L., age 89, died Tuesday, November 9, 1999 at St. Mary's Carondelet Hospice. He was born May 21, 1910 in Wymore, NE and reared in Atchison, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Bessie Marts; brothers, Leonard and Lewis Marts; sisters, Lola White and Lila Brush; and an infant daughter. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ruth; son, Paul L. (Larry) Marts, Jr.; and granddaughter, Mindi Marts Hershey (Jerry). He is also survived by brothers, Robert Marts (Darlene) of Phoenix and Earl Marts (Elizabeth) of McMinnville, Oregon, Wanda Marts, a daughter; step grandchildren, Pamela Francis (Tom), Trey Black (Susan); step great-grandchildren, Max Francis, Kvar and Maia Black, all of Tucson. Paul was a music educator for 42 years in public schools in Kansas, Chandler, Arizona, and Inglewood, California. He received his Music Education degree from Emporia Teachers College in 1933 and a Master's in Music Education from Kansas University in 1940. In addition to teaching he was always active in church and community music activities and helped design a music building for the high school in Chandler, Arizona. He joined Christ Presbyterian Church after moving to Tucson in 1989. Services will be held at Christ Presbyterian Church, 6565 E.
