REISER, James Albert, was born in Napolian, Ohio on August 3, 1919, and passed away November 11, 1999. He moved with his wife, Lucile to Tucson in 1947, after serving as Naval Chief Petty Officer in WWII. Jim was in private practice as a physical therapist in Tucson until his retirement in 1978. He was an avid golfer, with many holes in one. Jim is survived by his wife, Lucile; his two children, Don Reiser of Tucson, Sharon Thrall of Oregon; two grandchildren, Bryan and Erin Thrall; two sisters, Donna Reiser and Elsie Lou Sigg; and close friend, Mildred Ayers. Jim was a lifetime member of B.P.O.E. 385. He will be treasured always in our hearts and live forever in our memories. Memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on November 14, 1999 at St. John's United Methodist, 60 W. Veteran Blvd. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation be sent to the St. Johns United Methodist Church in his name. Arrangements made by ARIZONA MORTUARY, University Chapel.

SAENZ, Richard T., 52, passed away November 8, 1999. Survived by sister, Norma Juarez; niece, Vanessa Juarez; nephew, Manny Juarez. preceded in death by parents, Thomas and Nellie Saenz. Memorial service 4:00 p.m., Saturday, November 13 at Northwest Park on Silverbell. Arrangements by HEATHER MORTUARY.

TALLABAS, Sister Mary Beatrice, a member of the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, passed away on November 11, 1999. Sister is survived by special nieces, Armida and Isabel and many other nieces and nephews. Sister has served the Apostolic Ministries of the Congregation for 54 years. She has lived at St. Ann's Convent since 1983. A Vigil will be held on Friday, November 12, 1999 with Mass following on Saturday, November 13, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sister's of the Immaculate Heart Chapel, 4100 North Sabino Canyon Rd. Interment will follow at Holy Hope cemetery. Funeral conducted by VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 327-6341.

MILDRED HENRICI VETTE, 82, passed from this life on Tuesday, August 24, 1999 in Marietta, GA. A longtime resident of Tucson, Mrs. Vette served as a Navy Wave in WWII and was a retired beautician. Mildred was one of seven children born to her parents in Chicago where she resided before moving to Tucson in 1963. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Valerie and Tim Willis; son and daughter-in-law, Wally and Johnine Vette; grandchildren Christine Barker and her husband Burney; and Ashley Saccomando and her husband John; sister Dorothy Dahlin; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Any contributions of sympathy should be made in Mildred's name to the Tucson Assoc. for the Blind and Visually Impaired. ADKINS, Anna Gibson, 77, died November 11, 1999. preceded in death by husband, John W. Adkins. Survived by sons, Michael Adkins of Tucson and John Adkins of Phoenix, AZ. COVEAUGH, Jennet Lee Rodegeb, born in Elkhart, Indiana October 3, 1916, died in Tucson, Arizona on November 8, 1999 at 83 years. Jennet graduated from Elkhart High School in 1934. She was a bookkeeper and then an inspector for Morgan Driveaway in Elkhart. Jennet and her husband Walter moved to Tucson from Elkhart, Indiana in 1979 after selling their antique business, the Red Shed. They were listed in the Who's Who in Antiques. Jennet and Walter loved the desert. Both were founders of the Wagons West Travel Trailer Association in Tucson where they lived for many happy years. Walter passed away in 1983, now Jennet has join him. After Walter's passing, Jennet's greatest joy was taking care of cats and dogs creating another career for herself as a house and pet sitter. She was a great animal lover. Jennet led travel trailer trips around the southwest; she volunteered at the Tucson Visitor's Center and the St. Philip's Gift Shop. Jennet was a wonderful friend and will be sadly missed by all her friends; her niece, Karen Shackle (Jim) of Elkhart, nephew, Roger Watts (Sally) of Tucson and their families.

GAYLES, Ellis Calvin, 54, died November 10, 1999. Survived by wife, Elizabeth Gayles; daughter, Nicole E. Gayles; son, Ellis C. Gayles, Jr.; mother, Freddie Gayles: brothers, Charles E. OSBORN, Ruby E., 84, of Tucson, died November 9, 1999. Born February 18, 1915 in Winkelman, AZ. Survived by son, George B. Osborn of Fallon, NV; daughter, Edna E. Farmer of Tucson; brothers, Ivan Stewart of Hayden, AZ, William Stewart of Marana; sister, Edna Manley of Colorado Springs, CO; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren. preceded in death by husband, George; two brothers and two sisters. She was past Grand Chief of Pythian Sisters. Services were held Friday, EVERGREEN MORTUARY. Interment Evergreen cemetery. PENIX, Brian S., age 50, of Peoria, AZ, and a prior resident of Tucson, died November 10, 1999. He was bornin Sturgis, Michigan and moved to AZ in 1962 from Bronson, Michigan. Brian was an Auxiliary Operator, Nuclear Power Plant, A.P.S. 17 years and was in the U.S. Air Force. Survivors include wife, Nancy Penix of Peoria, AZ; daughter, Stephanie L. Penix of Peoria, AZ; mother, Rachael Penix of California; sisters, Holly Penix, Heather Penix, Ivy Penix all of California; brothers, Timothy K. Penix, Kerry A. Penix of Arizona and Todd A. Penix of California. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 14th with a Prayer Service at 6:00 p.m. at Sunland Mortuary, 15826 Del Webb Blvd. Services will be held 9:00 a.m. on Monday, November 15, 1999, Sunland Lakeside Chapel, 15826 Del Webb Blvd. Burial will be in Sunland Memorial Park, Sun City, AZ.

HENRY P. POLANCO, 81, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away November 11, 1999. preceded in death by son, Henry Polanco, Jr. Survived by wife, Anselma; daughters, Erlinda (Daniel) Alvarado and Cruz (Louie) Medran; daughter-in-law, Maria Polanco; sons, Sonny (Evelina), Cleo (Violet) and Eddie Polanco; sisters, Patricia Rodriguez, Belen Lopez and Delia Trujillo; brothers, Samuel and Gilbert Polanco; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Also survived by many loving nephews and nieces. Henry worked for Pima Mine for 19 years and retired in 1977. SMITH, Walter Charles, of Tucson, died Tuesday, November 9, 1999 in his home at 951 W. Orange Grove Rd. Born April 30, 1924 in Rochester, New York, he was the son of Leonard and Genevieve Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Naomi Smith, whom he married on July 2, 1991. Also surviving are his two children, Donna Smith Bongiovanni of Sterling, VA and Gary Charles Smith of Plattsmouth, NE and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death in 1983 by his first wife, Beverly Cheeseman Smith, the mother of his children.
He served in the 8th Army Air Corp in the 27th Photo Squadron during World War II. He attended Rennselear Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York and worked for Bell and Howell in Rochester, New York until his retirement in 1981. Burial will be in Sabattus, Maine.

MILDRED YALEN, 85, of Tucson, died November 11, 1999. Survived by daughter, Dawn (Terrence) Moriarty; son, William L. (Sandra) Yalen, both of Tucson; grandchildren, Andrew (Sherrill) Moriarty, Corinne Moriarty, Cindy Moriarty Fortuno, Allen Yalen, Wendy Yalen and Renee (Howard) Hulsey, all of Tucson; and great-grandsons, Daniel Yalen, Devin Hulsey and Ryan Fortuno. Mrs. Yalen and her husband, Allen started the family business, Peerless Auto Supply, in 1951. Allen died in 1968. She was a member of Congregation Anshei Israel and will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Services Sunday, 1:00 p.m. EVERGREEN MORTUARY, with Rabbi Robert Eisen and Cantor Ivor Lichterman officiating. Interment Congregation Anshei Israel Section, Evergreen cemetery. BARRETT, George Lee. On November 12, 1999, George Lee Barrett ceased to walk with men. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Barrett; six children, Daryl, Cathy, Bridgett, Azariah, Denise and Melissa; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; four siblings, Versie, Amy, Clayton, and Vivian, all from Houston, TX; and a host of relatives and friends in Tucson, AZ, Houston and Palestine, TX. He taught Economics from 1980-1990 throughout Pima County at various colleges; 1974-1980 he was Economic Development Planner with the Tohono O'odham tribe. ELARI, Isabella, 98, died Saturday, November 13, 1999. She was born in Marsala, Sicily on November 5, 1901 and came to this country with her parents and four sisters when she was seven years old. The family settled in Brooklyn, NY, where Isabella lived until the death of her husband, Salvatore. She moved to Tucson in 1980 to be with two of her sisters. MARGARITO (MIKE) R. HERNANDEZ, 83, owner of Del Rio Ballroom, where he worked for 47 years, died Saturday, November 13, 1999 at Carondelet Hospice, St. Mary's Hospital in Tucson, Arizona. Mr. Hernandez lived in Tucson, Arizona for 63 years. He was born December 24, 1915 in La Pieda Michocan Mexico.
He is survived by his wife, Victoria (Vicky); sons, Richard (Mary), and Edward (Jessie) Hernandez; brothers, Alfonzo Salazar, Benjamin Salazar; sisters, Isabel Salazar, Anita Rodriguez, Ofelia Munoz; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
