SHARP, Sam Houston, Jr., 49, was born November 10, 1950 at Fort Knox, KY, and passed away on November 13, 1999. Sam is survived by his parents, Berna and Col. Sam H. Sharp, U.S. Army, Ret., twin daughters, Meghan and Erin Sharp of Hamden, CT; and sisters, Merion, Johna and Suzette. Also survived by two nephews, Tanner Carothers and Christopher Ward; his aunt, Marion and Uncle Don Crosgrove; and cousins Deane, Stephen, Julie and Megan.
Sam's gypsy heart was inspired by his travels as a young man with his family to military posts throughout the United States, Canada, France, Spain, Germany and The Netherlands. He attended Yakima Valley College in Washington State, Pima Community College and the University of Arizona. He served in the U.S. Army as an Intelligence Analyist, and was an American Legion member for over 20 years. Sam's many interests and love for the outdoors lead him to his employment as a engineering surveyor; he was a party crew chief on many Tucson development projects.
Sam pursued the study of several foreign languages and was an avid reader of books on religion, philosophy and poetry. He loved to play chess and the guitar and was an accomplished musician and artist. Sam's special presence will be greatly missed by his family.
A memorial service will be held at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway, at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 16. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to the Arizona Cancer Center.

SMITH, Reba A., 76, passed away Tuesday, November 9, 1999. Survived by daughter, Sharon DeKok of Tucson; son, W. Gregg Smith of CO; grandchildren, Amanda, Angela, Amy, April, Adam, Arica, Andrew, Allan; great-grandchildren, Cory, Kirstin, and Austin; sisters, Betty Jo Tweet of Tucson and Mary Kay Howell of CA; brother, Jim Benefield of Tucson. Mrs. Smith was retired from Hughes Aircraft. Private services. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.

NORMA R. TRINIDAD, Beloved Wife, Mother, Nana and Sister, 60, born November 26, 1931, died November 13, 1999. Survived by spouse, Alfonso 'Pancho'; children, Michele (Richard) Madrid, Philip (Paula) Trinidad, Grace (Peter) Arriola, Christine (Steve) Bernal, Norma (Eugene) Olivares, Alfonso (Edna) Trinidad, Kathy (Ralph) Lopez; grandchildren, Richey, Jennifer, Philip, Tani, Joseph, Jessica, Chrissy, Anthony, Marcos, Michael, Catherine, Bernadette, Fonzie, Emily, B.J. and Ralph; great-grandchildren, Emanuel, Sabrina, and Janneza; sisters, Jean (Victor) Ortiz; Eleanor (Lindy) Lopez, Dora (Willie) Alvarado, and Evelyn (Julian) Alvarez; brother, Tony (Debbie) Romero. Also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 17 at Martinez Funeral Chapel. Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 18 at St. Margaret's Church, 801 N. Grande Ave. Interment to follow at Holy Hope cemetery. VARELA, Richard Joseph, 32 years old, died November 13, 1999. preceded in death by his mother, Josephine G. Varela. Survived by his father, George Y. Varela; grandmother, Virginia Y. Varela; aunt, Alice V. (Manuel) Padilla; sister, Georgina V. (Manuel) Dominguez; brothers, Rene, Gary, Freddie and Victor. Also many nephews, nieces, aunts and uncles. Services will be held at Santa Rosa Church, November 16th, with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 17th. Burial to follow at Holy Hope cemetery. ARMENTA, Jesus F., 53, of Tucson, died Monday, November 15, 1999. He is survived by his sisters, Lupe (Hector) Montijo, Frances (Augustin) Aranda; five nephews, one niece, and many other relatives. Jesus was a U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran. An all night wake will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, November 19, 1999 and a Funeral Mass will be at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, all at Cristo Rey Church, New Pascua Pueblo. Burial will be in the veteran's section of Monte Calvario cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to HEATHER MORTUARY.

VEVA L. BALDRIDGE, 83, beloved mother, grandmother and friend, passed away Saturday, November 13, 1999. Survived by daughters, Fran Saints and Peg (Bob) Hurst, both of Tucson; son, Gary (Sue) Baldridge of Gainesville, TX; grandchildren, Jon and Chris Saints, Matt and Megan Hurst, Michelle Myers and Joe Baldrige; two great-grandchildren; brother, Bob Berry; sister, Bea Foster. preceded in death by husbands, Frederick Powley and and Rex Baldridge; son-in-law, Bill Saints. She graduated from Grace Hospital School of Nursing in Detroit in 1942. She was employed by St. Joseph's Hospital and a volunteer at Casas de los Ninos. Memorial service 3:30 p.m., Thursday, November 18 at Casas Adobes Congregational Church, 6801 N. Oracle Rd. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Casas de los Ninos.

FITTS, Leslie N., passed away Monday, November 15, 1999 at the Veterans Administration Hospice in Tucson, AZ after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Centertown, TN on February 26, 1920. Leslie was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ellen. Survivors include daughter, Mary (Dan) Hawley of Tucson, AZ; son, John (Melinda) Fitts of Eau Claire, WI; daughter, Linda Sue (John) Rebischke of Anchorage, AK; brothers, Jess (Josephine) and Ray (Dorothy); and sisters, Alta Mae Dickens and Mary Griffith all of McMinnville, TN; and sister, Laverne Dobbs; five grandchildren, Jennifer and Jeffrey of Anchorage, AK, Kellie of Santa Monica, CA, Jason and Randy of Eau Claire, WI; great-grandchildren, Jordan and Mariah, as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews. Leslie proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII where he received disabling injuries and was a prisoner-of-war. Friends may call at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Ave., Thursday, November 18, 1999 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Graveside service will be held at South Lawn cemetery, Friday at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

JOHNSON, Toni N. (Hortensia), 62 year native Tucsonan, passed away on November 13, 1999. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ophelia H. Nelson; her dear aunt, Amparo M. Henderson and her beloved son, Jose C. Cervantez, Jr. She leaves to mourn her, her husband, John C. Johnson; children, Deborah N. (Joseph) Barletta, Greg N. Cervantez, Michael R. (Mary Ann) Gonzales, Dolores M. (Louis) Wacker; grandchildren, Candy, Stephanie and Jolene Barletta, Monica and Greg Cervantez, Jr., Mikey Jr., John and Annie Gonzales, as well as many relatives and friends from Morenci and Clifton, AZ, Griffin and Atlanta, GA, and Tucson, AZ, that loved her dearly. Rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m., Friday, November 19, 1999 at BRING'S MEMORIAL CHAPEL. Mass will be offered 9:00 a.m., Saturday, November 20, 1999 at St. Augustine Cathedral, 192 S. Stone. JOHN O. JUDGE, 65, of Tucson, Arizona and Seattle, Washington died November 11, 1999 while hiking with his older son, Jeffrey, in Pima Canyon. He is survived by his wife, Kay; and three children, Jeffrey (Tucson), Jennifer (Los Angeles), John M. (San Francisco); his sister, Phyllis (Milbank, South Dakota); and brothers, J. Robert (Cincinnati, Ohio) and David M. (Belleville, Illinois). Born in Milbank, South Dakota to Walter T. Judge and Marian Kennedy Judge, he was educated in South Dakota and Minnesota before graduating from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1958. After completing his specialty training in St. Paul, Minnesota, he practiced radiology in Mitchell, South Dakota from 1968 to 1988. He thoroughly enjoyed his retirement as he developed skills as a gourmet cook and a computer enthusiast. In addition to pursuing several hobbies, he volunteered at the Literacy Volunteers of Tucson and was a member of the 'Lunch Bunch' at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Moving to Tucson in 1992, he loved the mountains surrounding the area and particularly enjoyed hiking in them. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated for him on Friday, November 19, at St. Thomas the Apostle Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Donations in his memory may be made to the Literacy Volunteers of Tucson, the Tucson Ronald McDonald House or to the Pima County Search and Rescue Volunteers. KIRTS, Wm. K. 'Kenny' 75, of Marana, a U.S. Army veteran, died November 15, 1999. Survived by wife, Catherine of Marana; children, James T. Kirts of WY, Susan D. Davis, Vicky L. (Thomas) Zidar, both of AZ, Charles E. (Elizabeth) Kirts of WY; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Service Thursday, 3:30 p.m., EVERGREEN MORTUARY, N. Oracle & W. Miracle Mile. VIRGINIA MARTINEZ, 70, entered into rest Sunday, November 14, 1999 at TMC Hospice after a short bout with Lung Cancer. She was born September 26, 1929 in Colonia Morelos, Sonora Mexico to Emiliano and Dolores Martinez.
She was a longtime resident of Douglas and Tucson, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ernesto and Ignacio Martinez; and sister, Herlinda M. Pro.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving children, Martin Yanez, Nora (Hector) Salinas and Tito (Diana) Cervantes; brother, Emiliano (Gloria) Martinez; grandchildren, Tony, Adrian, Martin, Yamille, Erica, Hector and Tito; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held at MARTINEZ FUNERAL CHAPELS, 2580 S. 6th Ave. on Thursday, November 18, 1999 from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 19, 1999 at St. Johns Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Holy Hope cemetery. Arrangements by MARTINEZ FUNERAL CHAPELS.

RICHARD WILLIAM MILNE, 58, of Las Vegas, died November 12, 1999. Rick is survived by two special woman in his life, Helen of Tucson and Marlyn of Las Vegas; sons, Brian Scott Milne, Kevin Michael Milne, both of Las Vegas; brothers, James (Betty) Milne, Charles (Kathy) Milne, both of Tucson; nieces, Jennifer Milne, Lauren (Rick) Villalobos; nephews, Mark Milne, Michael Milne; great-niece, Ashley Marie Milne; great-nephew, Conner Villalobos. Preceding Rick in death are his parents, Ernest R. and Mary L. Milne.
Rick did a tour in the Marines from 1958 to 1962, then joined the Tucson Police Department and retiring with 21 years of service in 1983. Rick then went to Las Vegas where he joined Las Vegas Metro Police Department retiring again in 1996 as Personnel Supervisor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to F.O.P. Tucson Lodge #1, PO Box 17629, Tucson, AZ, 85731.

PRESKAR, Emily, 89, passed away Saturday, November 13, 1999. Her husband Rudy Preskar preceded her in death. She is survived by her son Robert 'Bob'; two grandchildren, Brad (Barby) Preskar and Laura (Paul) Poore; four grandchildren and her dear sister Sylvia Raichle. Before retiring Emily taught Computer Sciences at Pima College. Private services will be held on Friday, November 19, at Eastlawn cemetery.

REASER, Louis Doyle, 68, died November 14, 1999. Funeral service 9:30 a.m., Thursday, November 18, 1999 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 700 N. Bonanza Ave. Burial at LDS cemetery. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

ROBERT 'BOB' L. SCHUYLER - Born on November 8, 1949, entered into peace on November 14, 1999 after a brief and courageous battle with brain cancer. He fought his disease with dignity and grace, never giving up hope and remaining positive and loving through the ordeal. Along the road to his final resting place, he rediscovered God, became closer to his family and treasured old friends and discovered many new friends.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Linda; parents, Dorothy and Lou Schuyler; sister, Sue (Steve) Martin; brothers, Jimmie and David (Suzan) Schuyler; father-in-law, Bill Febrero; beloved dog, Mandy, and many other dear family members and numerous friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Steven.
Robert's passions were many; music, golf, fishing, hiking and an inherited passion for trains, which ideally was his career as a train conductor.
We will all mourn his time apart from us – but we shall meet again in a wondrous place of true peace and beauty.
A celebration of life in Robert's memory will be held at Desert Son Community Church, 5250 Cortaro Rd. on Thursday, November 18 at 11:00 a.m.

EDWARD M. SERIGHT SR., MAJ. USAF RET. - Born December 4, 1921 in Moore, Montana, died November 14, 1999. Husband of Jean; father of Edward M. Seright, Jr. and Helen Bailey (William); grandfather of Russell (Kathleen) Bailey, Edward Bailey, Tamara (Sterling) Schaeffer, Edward M. (Lisa) Seright III; great-grandsons, Seamus and Liam Bailey, and Travis Dean Seright. Survived by sister, Naomi Rucker (Robert); brothers, Cecil Seright, Orval (Rosali) Seright, Merle (Priscilla) Seright.
He served in World War II, Korea and retired after 26 years in 1965. He was director of Medical Purchasing at the University of Arizona Hospital for 18 years. Member of BPOE #2532 in Tucson.
Memorial service will be held Friday, November 19 at 10:00 a.m., at St. Matthews Episcopal Church, 9071 Old Spanish Trail.
