PERCY 'PAT' E. JOHNSON, 92, passed away November 15, 1999. Mr. Johnson was born August 30, 1907 near Martinsville, Illinois and in 1942 married
Genevieve Harris of Newton, Illinois. Mr. Johnson was a member of the Grace Methodist Church of Newton, a 32nd Degree Mason and Past Patron of the Newton Eastern Star. He spent 40 years as a member of the University of Illinois staff (1930-1970). He was largely responsible for the University of Illinois Brownstown Experiment field being located in that area and responsible for many other experiment fields including Oblong, Newton and West Salem, Illinois fields. He held farmers soils and crop meetings during winter months from 1940-1970. Mr. Johnson retired in 1970, moved to Arizona for his wife's health and sold real estate in Tucson for five years. Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Genevieve, of 55 years and is survived by one son, Richard Johnson of Tucson; a daughter, Rebecca Hillman of Carbondale, IL; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held 12:00 p.m., Friday, November 19, 1999 at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5801 E. He is survived by children, Frank (Connie) Lopez, Irma (Oscar) Daniels, eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ramona; his parents, and grandson, Rene. He was a musician and loved music. He was also a barber for the Playboy Barbershop. LOIS B. TRIPLETT passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on the morning of November 16, 1999. She was the daughter of Lawrence and Grace Brandel, and is survived by her husband of 66 years, William W. Triplett; and sisters, Edythe Geitz (Albert), St. Petersburg, Florida; Grace Campbell (George), Tucson, Arizona; and brothers, John Brandel, Arlington Heights, Illinois; Richard Brandel, Barrington, Illinois; Donald Brandel, Florida.
She was Co-Founder and Vice Chairman of the Board of HDS Services and Trettco, Inc. of Tucson and Farmington Hills, Michigan. Mr. and Mrs. Triplett moved to Tucson from Michigan in 1986 and opened the west region office of HDS Services.
Memorial services will be held at St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Tucson, Friday, November 19, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Memorial Garden of St. Marks. RICHARD E. BERRY, 56, Arizona native, born November 5, 1943, peacefully passed into the hands of Our Lord, in the presence of his family and friends on November 17, 1999. Richard courageously fought a two month battle against cancer. He is survived by his loving wife, Christine; two children: daughter, Kimi; son, Kenneth and his pride and joy, grandson Hunter. He is also survived by his mother, Elizabeth Hughes; brother, Ron; pal and special mother-in-law, Frances Montlary; special sisters, Betty JoAnn, Ginny and Patrice; nephews, Phil and Curtis; nieces, Debbie and Pam; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; also his loving and faithful pets, Rex and Meja. Richard served in the U.S. Marines, was a U of A graduate and proudly cared for others as a dedicated pharmacist for 31 years. He enjoyed the outdoors as a fisherman and hunter. Special thanks go to the healthcare staff at Northwest Hospital and Fran with Vista Care. Richard will be greatly missed by many people whose lives he touched with his kindness and love. PATRICIA A. DIXON - Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Friend, passed away Wednesday, November 17, 1999.
Survived by brother, Donald (Linda); daughters, Deborah (Craig), Michelle; sons, James (Dori), Robert (Joanne); ex-husband, Gilbert A. Lerua; ex-husband and soul mate, Jack B. Martin, Jr.; and grandchildren, Holly, Amy, Heather, Ian, Lindsey, Pat, Ryan, Jay, Erin, Elisa, Briana and Robin. preceded in death by her parents, James F. and Marion Dixon.
Born in Cleveland, OH (April 4, 1930), she moved to Tucson with her parents and brother at age 16. She graduated from Villa Carondelet High School and St. Mary's Academy of Nursing, and ultimately completing her professional training at the University of Arizona College of Nursing – Nurse Practioners Program.
A natural performer, Patti, was a dedicated member of the Tucson Good Time Singer's and the Tucson Horizon Chorus; chapter's of Sweet Adeline's. Although only 4'11' tall, Patti's deep, rich bass singing voice as a cornerstone to two Nationally competitive quartets.
Patti was also a dedicated professional, caring for her patients at Pima Care/Group Health, Thomas Davis Clinic, Planned Parenthood of Arizona and Tucson Medical Associates. She volunteered her time at Sun Sounds by reading for the visually impaired.
True to her Irish roots, she was always ready with a good joke, a lover of animals and a friend to everyone she met. Patti lived life to the fullest, never missing the opportunity for a challenge, or to try something new. If asked to describe Patti, one word would come to mine…spirit. She was a kind soul who will be missed by all who knew her.
Services will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, 8650 N. Shannon Road, Monday, November 22, 1999 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated in Patti's name at the Humane Society of Tucson, Sun Sounds, and the American Cancer Society.

She was active in many clubs and organizations including WAAIMEs (Women's Auxiliary of American Institute of Mining Engineers) and the Chi Omega Alumni Club.
