SAWIN, Gleo G., 84, died December 21, 1999. Mrs. Sawin was born February 18, 1915, a daughter of Wallace and Dottie Drury at Turtle Lake, Wisconsin. She moved with her parents to Union, Iowa at the age of sixteen, where she completed her education. She married
Earl Sawin December 24, 1934 in Bethany, MO. She was a member of the Union Church of Christ, a member of Casas Adobes Baptist since moving to Tucson 22 years ago. preceded in death by her husband, Earl, 1988. Survived by her children, Thomas, Daryl (Nancy) and Craig (Beverly) Sawin; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two brothers, and two sisters. AVILES, Henry E., 74, died Thursday, December 23, 1999. Mr. Aviles is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Ramona, to whom he had been married
for 45 years; son and daughter-in-law, Enrique and Jennifer Aviles; son, Juan Carlos Aviles; daughter and son-in-law, Gabriela and Guy Porfirio; son, Ricardo Aviles; grandchildren, Cristina Aviles; David and Katherine Porfirio; and sister, Nona Davison Aviles.
Mr. Aviles enlisted in the United States Navy in 1942 and served in World War II and the Korean War. After honorable discharge from the United States Navy on December 24, 1951, Mr. Aviles continued his education and graduated from the University of Arizona in 1953.
Mr. Aviles began his career-long service to the chemical industry with ASARCO in Nueva Rosita, Coahuila, Mexico in 1953. He joined Dow Chemical International in 1963, which took him and his family to La Linda, Coahuila, Mexico; Lake Jackson, Texas; Miami, Florida and San Juan, Puerto Rico. He retired from Dow Chemical International, Freeport, Texas in 1982, where he was a Senior Export Administrator.
He and his wife retired in 1982 to Tucson, Arizona, where he enjoyed his extended family, friends and his passion for golf. He established a second career in the insurance industry and was an agent for Mora Insurance and Investments until his death.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 28, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 215 S. Craycroft. Interment to be held in Nogales, Arizona at a date to be determined. CLARK, Kenneth Roy, died December 16, 1999 in Tucson, AZ after a long and noble battle with cancer, Ken returned home to be with the Lord. Born in Ft. Worth, TX on March 4, 1950, he graduated from the University of Texas, Arlington and has resided in Arizona since 1973. He enjoyed his work in sales at Motion Industries and was an avid golfer. Ken was truly a gift to his wife, family and to all who knew him. He will remain in our hearts forever. DICKERSON, Frances E. Coursey, born in Ontario, Canada, March 7, 1936 died in Tucson, December 22, 1999 after a long bout with Alzheimer's disease. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, William of Tucson; her daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Michael Kiefer of Tucson; her sons, Daniel of Tucson, and David of Tallahassee, FL. She is also survived by her brother, Charles Victor Coursey of Barrie, Ontario, Canada; and her sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Clarke Taylor of Harrow, Ontario, Canada. She had a career as a pediatric nurse caring for sick and premature babies beginning in 1957 at the University of Michigan Medical Center and ending in 1985 after 12 years at Tucson Medical Center. She also served at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Home Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana, The University of Iowa Medical Center in Iowa City and the hospital in Vermillion, South Dakota. During her time at TMC she also served as an attending nurse in the medical transport program which flies sick babies in small aircraft, generally at night to the intensive care nursery at TMC from such places as Silver City, NM, Prescott, Yuma, and other places in the Arizona region. A memorial service will be held 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 30, 1999 at Christ Community Church, Kenyon and Pantano.
