SHAW, Eva Nasby, age 85, a 49 year resident of Tucson, passed away December 25, 1999. Born December 20, 1914 in Iowa. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Neil C. Nasby; son, Robert C. Nasby; daughter, Jo Ann Claytor, and husband, Paul L. Shaw. Survived by her daughter, Diane E. (Alfred) Yap; son, Barry N. Nasby; grandchildren, Kent F. (Beth) Nesby, Leigh (Gary) Bernardi, Joseph (Kim) Claytor, Kimberly (John La Vere) Claytor, Tammy (Rod) Blair, Rodger Claytor, Todd (Gwenn) Claytor, John Sanders, Jeffrey (Lisa) Sanders; 17 great-grandchildren. STOLLER, Margaret Jean, passed away December 26, 1999 peacefully in the presence of her husband, Harry. She was born in Warrensburg, MO November 19, 1927 and lived in Independence prior to coming to Arizona. She is survived by daughter, Gayle and son-in-law, Rick Hempy; two grandchildren, Kendall and Cynthia and three great-grandchildren. Cremation. Memorial services will be held Thursday, December 30th at 2:00 p.m. at Fairview Manor Clubhouse, 3115 N. Fairview.

VALDEZ, Julia V., 98, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away December 23, 1999. preceded in death by husband, Placido; brother, Roberto Vasquez; daughter, Eulalia Martinez; sons, Manuel and Carlos Valdez. Survived by daughters, Alicia (Cayetano) Ronquillo of Redington, Clara (Paul) Lopez of Phoenix, Carlotta Ruiz of Phoenix, Otilia Lopez, Virginia Nelson, Hortencia (Ray) Salcido, Olga (Joe) Wik of Sahuarita and Nadine (Joe) Ortega; sons, Reynaldo, Conrad, David (Joyce) of San Antonia, Texas, and Joe and Martin (Sylvia) Valdez. Also survived by 71 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren. WHITE, James Boyd Jr., was born in Stanford, Texas, February 6, 1934, and passed away December 24, 1999, in Tucson, Arizona. He is survived by his wife, Lorrie White; mother, Mrs. B. Natalet White; sister, Janie Bauer; brother, Rev. Jerry Wayne White; one son; two daughters and one stepson. He is also survived by an uncle, two nieces, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Friends may call at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. ENGELMANN, Irma R., born August 16, 1906 in Dayton, Ohio and died on Sunday, December 26, 1999 in Tucson, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcus J. Engelmann in 1991. Beloved mother of Paul M. Engelmann of Chattanooga, TN, Phyllis Eichenberger of Tucson and Joyce Dumm of Penfield, NY; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren also survive. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 30, 1999 at East Lawn Palms cemetery, 5801 E. Grant Rd., with Rev. James Lumsden of Rincon Congregational Church officiating. FLENTGE, Eunice, 74, of Tucson, passed away Wednesday, December 15, 1999. She was preceded in death by late husbands, Ben Flentge and Sylvester Kondratewicz. She is survived by her daughter, Valarie Kondratewicz; brother, Herbert Kinney of Columbus, Ohio; sister, Sharlene S. Gaddis of Keystone Heights, FL; and several nieces and nephews. GREEN, Zummer L., age 81, a resident of Tucson since 1944, went home to be with the Lord on December 27, 1999. Born June 5, 1918 in Grapeland, Texas. She is survived by her son, Felix (Lois) Green; daughter, Joyce A. Green; grandchildren, Curtis, Regina, Michael and Shannon; brothers, Johnny, Jeffrey, Willie and F.C.L. Pierson; sister, Althia Thurton. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 30, 1999 at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. IONA HANSEN - Was born January 5, 1916 in Homer City, PA, and went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, December 28, 1999. Iona is survived by her sons, Rick (Darlene) and Lynn (Cathy) Hansen; and two brothers, eight grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Iona Hansen moved from Homer City, PA to Tucson in 1937. She worked as a librarian for TUSD until her retirement in 1982. She was an active member of the Southern Arizona Hiking Club for many years. She enjoyed making flower arrangements at Life Care Center where she spent her last two years. Before moving to Life Care Center, Iona was an active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. Funeral services, 9:30 a.m., Friday, December 31, 1999 at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL, with burial to follow at South Lawn cemetery. Visitation for family and friends, Thursday, December 30 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Avenue. DOROTHY GUNN KISSER, died December 27, 1999, following a month long illness. Mrs. Kisser was a native of Winnipeg, Canada. She is survived by her daughters, Leslie Myer (Alastair), Cynthia Kisser McLaughlin (William), Jill Moreno (Jose); son, Kenneth Kisser; five grandchildren, Laura and Adrian Myer, James McLaughlin, Christina Kimball, and Katie Kisser; and one great-granddaughter, Haley Kimball; and also survived by her sister, Mary Irene Young. Dot was a world traveler, and had recently returned from a trip to China. All who knew her will always remember her enthusiasm for life and vibrant personality. She will be loved and missed by all. In keeping with Dot's wishes, a Memorial Service will not be held. LANDRETH, Margaret L., 81, of Tucson passed away, Wednesday, December 22, 1999. She is survived by her children, Terry (Marilyn) Landreth, Dixie (Sandy) Sandifer, Sandra (Michael) James, and Larry (Carolyn) Landreth; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services, 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 30, 1999 at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL, with burial to follow at South Lawn cemetery. FRESIA TERRAZAS LINDBERG, 76, died December 27, 1999. She was a second generation Tucsonan, known to her many Tucson friends and family as 'Pinky'. She was a graduate of Tucson High School. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Arthur N. Lindberg; children, Susan M. Strautman (Dr. Paul), Dr. Elizabeth A. Lindberg (Todd), Robert C. Lindberg (Alisa), and Katherine K. Lindberg; sisters, Viola Terrazas and Bertha Rodriguez; ; brother, Rene Terrazas; grandchildren, Rebecca, Stephanie, and Jessica Strautman, and Christina Hedges; and numerous nieces and nephews. Prior to her marriage, she worked as a Deputy U.S. Marshal for 19 years. She was a founder and first president of the League of Mexican-American Women. Fresia and her sister Viola and good friend Rosemary Henderson had a popular trio in Tucson for several years named 'Las Morenas'. After her marriage in 1968, she resided in Glendale, AZ where she was involved in many church and civic activities. She was a president of the Guild at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Glendale where she was also a Eucharistic minister. Fresia was a member of the Glendale Women's Club, the Sister City Organization, and the Glendale Historical Society. She was founder of the Glendale Juniorettes, a community service organization for young Mexican-American women. She also served on the board of the Glendale Family Development Center. Visitation will be at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, 204 S. Stone from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Cyril's Church, Swan & Pima, on Friday, December 31, 1999 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Hope cemetery, 3555 N. Oracle Rd. LAWRENCE A. MACKLIN, 88 years old, died Saturday, December 25, 1999 in Tucson. Survived by two daughters, Kathleen (Thomas) Genandt of Phoenix, Donna Kay (David) Gillock of Vail; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; niece, Georgia Lee (Don) Duncan and family of Tucson. preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Williams, died July 29, 1999. A celebration of his life will be held at Noon on Saturday, January 8, 2000, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Lincoln Park Ward, 1655 S. Melpomene Way, Tucson, AZ. All who knew him are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Dignita Hospice Foundation, 1730 E. River, Suite 107, Tucson, Arizona 85718. LOUIS A. MANN, age 82, of Tucson, passed away December 24, 1999. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Frederick E. (Eva), Edward M. (Mary), and Robert W. Mann. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Grace; stepdaughters, Donna (Bob) Harrah of Citrus Heights, CA, and Christine (James) Hunter of Lincoln, CA; brother, John C. (Ruth) Mann of Oak Park, IL; sister, Florence L. (Edward) Buhle of Val Paraiso, IN; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Louis was a Past Master of the Masonic United Lodge 211 in Glenview, IL, active in V.F.W. Post 4905, life member of the Royal Order of Moose 1964. A Memorial Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 31, 1999 at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, 1800 S. Kolb with Father Knapp celebrating. McCARTNEY, Augusta Margaret, born August 15, 1901, died December 26, 1999. Widow of Lt. Colonel G.D. McCartney. Survived by daughter, Lois A. McCartney. Mass will be offered 9:00 a.m., Thursday, December 30, 1999 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 215 S. Craycroft. MITCHELL, Hollis, age 94, of Tucson, passed away December 27, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Mildred; son, Terry (Joy); and grandson, Brian. Hollis was a long time member of first United Methodist Church, ran the men's retreats, and retired after 60 years as usher. He held various offices in AARP and was a Bookkeeper and Tax Accountant retiring from his last account one month ago. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 30, 1999 at ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Dodge Chapel. Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. until service time. MOORE, Dorothy Eleanor, age 87, born August 9, 1912 in Mobile, Alabama. She went to be with God on December 27, 1999. The first daughter of Felix Strahorn and Sedonia Archie. She was one of eight children: five brothers, William, Felix Jr., Edward, James, and Samuel; two sisters, Margarite and Ethel Lee; Dorothy's brothers and sisters precede her in death. Dorothy is survived by her children, Gwendolyn Patricia and Morris Junior; grandchildren; great grands; her sister, Margaret Archie; nephews, nieces, their families and a host of friends. She will be sorely missed. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. today at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Ave., Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 30, 1999 at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY. Burial to follow at South Lawn cemetery.

CHARLES EUGENE PEARSON, age 70, born August 17, 1929 in Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on December 28, 1999 in Tucson, Arizona at Northwest Hospital at 2:30 a.m.
Charles served in the United States Air Force, with the 29th Bombing Wing during the Korean War. He was a devoted husband, father and 100% grandfather. One of his many hobbies was being a Dallas Cowboy Fan! Charles is survived by his wife, Ina Pearson of Tucson, Arizona; four daughters, Pamela Brannon of Florence, Arizona, Shirley Barrows of Coolidge, Arizona, Tina Goslin of Marana, Arizona, Carolyn Smith of Tucson, Arizona; one son, Randy Smith of Tucson, Arizona; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Chapel service Thursday, 11:00 a.m. EVERGREEN MORTUARY. Interment to follow Evergreen cemetery. PIDGEON, Ruth Stirling, 79, died Monday, December 27, 1999 from complications of long illnesses. Born at Salem, Ohio 1920, the only child of Herman and Ethel Wright. She was married with Joseph A. Pidgeon, also of Salem, Ohio in 1941 and has four children living in Arizona. Ruth was a past member of the St. Agnes Alter Guild of the Episcopal Church of Our Savior in Salem and past member of the St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Tucson. Ruth was an active member of the Assistance League of Tucson for twenty years and co-founded the Assistance League Mousetrap Gift Shop which provides additional funds for the League's good work. She also served in the TMC Auxiliary for ten years. She is survived by her husband, Joseph A. Pidgeon; a daughter, Jo Ann Bishop; sons, Jeffery A. and Joseph D., all of Tucson, and son, Christopher of Phoenix. She requested that gifts in her memory be made to the charity or foundation of the donor's choice. A service will be held for friends and relatives at the Colonia Verde Club House, 2700 N. Camino Verde at 11:00 a.m., followed by an informal gathering Thursday, December 30th.

VERGARA, Delia Rendon, 80, died December 28, 1999. Mother of Sylvia Schilling, Marta Vergara and Albert R. (Rosalinda) Vergara; grandmother of Albert III, Marie Christine and Thomas; eight great grandchildren also survive; sister of Cecilia (Gilbert) Randon-Sanchez. She was a founding member of St. Frances De Sales Catholic Church and a native Tucsonian. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alberto Garcia Vergara. Rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m., Sunday, January 2, 2000 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL. Mass will be offered 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 3, 2000 at St. Frances De Sales Catholic Church, 1375 S. WAGGONER, Viola M., 80, entered eternal life on December 26, 1999. She is survived by her son, Roy A. (Miki) Waggoner; grandchildren, Susan and Mark Waggoner; brother-in-law, James L. Waggoner and sister-in-law, Elaine Waggoner. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 30, 1999 at 1:00 p.m. in EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Road.

WAMSLEY, Wilda I., 84, passed away December 27, 1999. Survived by husband of 63 years, Francis; grandsons, John Wamsley of Las Vegas, NV, Dean Wamsley of Tucson, and Mark Huddleston of Phoenix; daughter-in-law, Eulah Wamsley of Tucson. Wilda was preceded in death by her son, Dean. Private services have been held. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.

CHARLES F. BARTER - Age 62, of Sahuarita, passed away suddenly on December 28, 1999. He is survived by Linda, his wife of 41 years; sons, Hale (Kathryn Nelson) and Kent (Sally); granddaughters, Haley, Kelsey, Shelby, and Corryn. Charles was born in Ridgway, Illinois, the only child of Charles and Alice Barter. He received a degree in Geology from the University of Illinois in 1959. He and Linda then moved to Tucson where they both attended graduate school at the University of Arizona; he received a Masters in Geology in 1962. Following graduation he served two years in the Army, and then took a job with the Anaconda Copper Company in Tucson. He later worked at Anamax Twin Buttes until the mine closed in 1986, reaching the position of Chief Geologist. He was fortunate to find a new career as a hydrogeologist with Errol L. Montgomery & Assoc. in Tucson, where he became a principal in the firm. At the time of his death he was 'semi-retired, ' although he continued to work regularly.
He became involved in Little League Baseball when his sons began playing. He coached for many years at all levels, and served as board member and President of Copper Hills Little League. He served as board member and President of Sahuarita School board from 1985 to 1988. He was currently serving on the board of directors of Las Quintas Serenas Water Company.
He was lucky to be part of a wonderful extended family that we all referred to as 'The Group'. In addition to many things, we depended on him for picking the perfect desert spot for our 30 years of Thanksgiving celebrations. His last few years were spent surrounded by little girls, adjusting well to the role of Grandpa Barter. We miss him very much.
Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the family home. Services will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Green Valley Mortuary, 2200 N. La Canada Dr., Sahuarita. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Copper Hills Little League, c/o Jerl Morgan, 17800 S. Placita de Oro, Sahuarita, AZ 85629.
