FISHER, Rosella Emmick, 94, died Wednesday, February 16, 2000. Born to Edwin S. and Nellie S. Emmick of Morris, PA on May 19, 1905. She moved to Tucson, AZ on February 22, 1941 from Elmira, NY. Survived by son, Ronald A. Severson (Elayne) of Tucson; two grandchildren, Connie L. Severson of Ashton, VA and Steven J. Severson (Barbara) of Ellicott City, MD; also three great-grandchildren, Sarah, Brian and Allen Severson of Ellicott City, MD; two nieces and one nephew. Mrs. Fisher was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters. Memorial Services for Mrs. Fisher will be held in April at the Mt. Pleasant Church in Morris, PA. During her years in Tucson, Mrs. Fisher had the distinction of being the first female Vice President of a Bank or Savings and Loan in the city of Tucson. FRICKE, La Vern, age 67, of Tucson, passed away February 16, 2000. La Vern is preceded in death by son, Gary. Survived by husband of 47 years, Doyle; three married

She attended public schools in Nebraska, North Dakota and Pennsylvania and was graduated with B.S., Millersville, University 1978 and M.Ed (1984) and Ph.D (1992) University of Arizona. Her professional experiences included primary, elementary and middle schools in Pennsylvania and Arizona followed by teaching and/or consulting positions at the University of Arizona, Hamline University, (Minn), Prescott College (Tucson Branch), and in the Four Corners area. MOORE, Frank H., passed away February 17, 2000. His son, Jeffrey, daughters, Connie and Barbara and brother, John survive him. Buck, as his friends knew him, was a native of Whitefish, Montana but has lived in Southern Arizona for 25 years. A World War II veteran, Buck fought in the Pacific Theatre with distinction. for 66 years to the love of his life, Marian Elizabeth Little of Birmingham, Alabama and is survived by her. A testament of their life together is the legacy of their family. Sons, Dr. John D.G. Rather (Ruth) of Detroit, Dr. Edwin P. Rather (Kay) of Tucson; grandchildren, Elizabeth Gray Mayes (Galvin), Dana M. Nottage (Sam), Richard A.K. Rather, Paige M. Diehl (Brian), and Ashley Elizabeth Rather; great-grandchildren, Cody, Taylor, Kellie-Dale Maria, and Kaelyn Marian; nephews, Daniel B. Rather, Lewis M. Little; niece, Maria Wofford; and a multitude of family members and friends. Attorney and member of a FirstFamily of Alabama, Mr. Rather attended the Georgia Institute of Technology and graduated from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1932. He retired to Tucson in 1975, and was a member of St. Philip's in the Hills Episcopal Church. His life is full of noteworthy accomplishments: He was President of Kappa Alpha Fraternity at the University of Alabama, and a lifelong member of that Order; He returned to Aeronautical Engineering, assisting in the design of the B-29 Bomber during WWII; he was an avid Amateur Radio Operator – W7LBW- and was a member of the Old, Old Timer's Club; he also was president of numerous legal and other organizations throughout his career. He is lovingly remembered by his family as an artist, a poet and a visionary, as well as family Historian, Daddy, Granddaddy and Great Granddaddy will live in our memory, our hearts and our thoughts forever. His stories will never be forgotten. KATHERINE EILEEN BROADFOOT, 59, went to be with the Lord February 17, 2000, after a car accident. Kay lived in Tucson from 1964 to 1993, then moved to Kelowna, British Columbia to be near her sister. Kay was visiting with her son and daughter and families since January. She was born in Moncton, New Brunswick, daughter of Leta and Godfrey Deacon. Kay is survived by her son, Sandy and daughter-in-law, Beth of Scottsdale; daughter, Marilyn and son-in-law, Jesus Ramirez of Tucson; five grandchildren; her mother, Leta and stepfather, Buster Gregg of St. John, New Brunswick; sister, Marilyn and brother-in-law, George Machum of Winfield, British Columbia; brother, Melville Deacon and sister-in-law, Eleanor of London, Ontario; and Lyle Broadfoot. Kay was the music director at Grace Episcopal Church in Tucson during the 1980's and more recently at St. Francis Anglican Church, Lake Country in Winfield, British Columbia. Kay volunteered for Hospice in Tucson. She had a great love for animals, and worked as a Veterinarian Technician in Tucson. Kay volunteered for the Community Policing Station, and Community Food Bank in Winfield. She was a member of the ACW (Anglican Church Women) in Winfield.
Kay's sense of humor and love of music touched everyone she met. She admitted that she was basically a very shy person who became transformed when working with the choir. Kay summed it up best when she said, 'Music is a part of my entire being-how I am best able to express myself.'
Anyone who was touched by this beautiful woman is welcome to join the family at her Funeral. A Mass of The Resurrection will be held at Our Mother of Sorrows, 1800 S. Kolb Rd., Tuesday, February 22 at 11:30 a.m. Fr. Rudy Rosales will officiate.
