JOHN ABOUD, 84, of Tucson, an attorney for over 60 years and a founder of ABOUD & ABOUD, P.C., died February 28, 2000. Survived by his wife of 57 years, Emily; children, Michael, John Eli, Paula, Jean and Shelley, all of Tucson; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. There will be visitation with the family from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 5, 2000 in the Catalina Room on the Lodge on the Desert, 306 N. Alvernon. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, any remembrances be made to the American Red Cross or the Alzheimer's Association of Southern Arizona.

BAILEY, Jack W., beloved husband, dad, and grandfather went home to be the Lord (whom he loved and served faithfully) on February 29, 2000. Jack was born on December 15, 1926 in Jacksonville, FL. He served in the United States Navy during WWII and was a Tucson resident for over 60 years. He was a faithful member of the Tucson Baptist Temple, serving as a deacon and usher since 1970. Jack retired from Hughes Aircraft after a 28 year career as a procurement manager. He is survived by Peggy, his loving wife of 52 years; sons, Dan (Lynda), Jim (Barbara), and Mark. He also is survived by sister, Irene Johnson; seven grandchildren; and a host of loving family and friends. A memorial service will be held Friday, March 3, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. at the Tucson Baptist Temple, 1525 S. Columbus Blvd. The services will be conducted by his two sons, Jim, Don and pastor Louis Johnson. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jack's name to Dignita Hospice Care, 750 Foothills Dr., Tucson, Arizona 85718. Special thanks to the staff of Dignita House and Jack's caregivers, Sue and Tim. Arrangements entrusted to HEATHER MORTUARY.

BROWN, Kenneth G., 56, died February 29, 2000. Husband of Sharon; father of Susan (Gary) Parrish and Trever (Julie) Brown; grandfather of Joshua, Cassandra, Ashley, Hanna, Heather and Garett; brother of Erma Brown and Robert Brown; son-in-law of Clare Carpenter. Ken was a beloved friend to many. He was preceded in death by his parents Glen and Clara Brown. Funeral service 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 4, 2000 at Bring's Broadway Chapel. BUSTAMANTE, Enriqueta G., 58, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away February 29, 2000. preceded in death by husband, Roberto; parents, Louis and Agripina Gomez; sons, Jose Samuel and Ricardo Bustamante. Survived by daughters, Veronica Bustamante, Belen (Mike) Lindsey and Yolanda Bustamante; sons, Frederico and Roberto Jr. (Maryann) Bustamante; sisters, Salvadora (Jose); Margarita (Ruben); Ofelia (Ramiro) and Agripina (Oscar); brothers, Andres (Socorro); Alejandro (Susana); Ramon (Jenny); Louis Jr. (Esther) and Carlos (Sylvia); also survived by 13 grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 3, 2000 from 4:00 p.m. to following morning at 832 W. Calle Retama with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Saturday, March 4, 2000, 8:30 a.m. at Santa Rosa De Lima, 2015 N. Calle Central. Interment to follow at Holy Hope cemetery. COOK, James F., Jr., 52, died at University Medical Center February 28, 2000 as the result of an infection subsequent to his 1996 double lung transplant. Born at Baltimore, MD, August 14, 1947, he graduated from Rincon High School and the University of Arizona. In 1965 Jim led the only Rincon High School Mens Basketball team to ever win the State Championship. He served with the US Army 1st Calvary Unit in Viet Nam. Jim worked for Southern Pacific Railroad for 23 years. Mr. Cook is survived by his sister, Susan Cook Carlson and her husband Greg; son, James F. Cook III; daughter, Chelsea Renae Cook; and nephews, David J. and Jordan R. McKee. Cremation will be followed by a Memorial Service and reception at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 4 at the Blue Ridge Terrace Clubhouse, 447 S. Camino Seco. Family accepting phone calls at 797-0041.

COSGROVE, Jack, 72 of Phoenix died February 29, 2000 in Phoenix. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at All Saints Episcopal Church, 6300 N. Central Avenue in Phoenix.
A veteran of the U.S. Air Force during WWII, he owned and operated Cosgrove Lowrie Cleveland Commercial Heating and Air Conditioning in Phoenix until his retirement.
Survived by his wife Agnes; 4 children, Carolyn and John Wake, Cheri Cosgrove, Lori and Tim Connell, and David and Hillary Cosgrove; and 6 grandchildren.
Memorial Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Juvenile Diabetes Association.

Kathleen Alberta Faick ('Miss Kay'), 85, passed away in Tucson February 27, 2000. Kathleen was born December 3, 1914 in Graham, North Carolina to William Simmy and Martha Leona Wrenn. The family moved to Greensboro in the early 1920s where Kathleen graduated from Greensboro High School and earned her degree in music at the University of North Carolina. Active in Girl Scouting, Kathleen was awarded the Golden Eaglet in 1930, served as assistant to director of Girl Scouts in Greensboro for three years, then was Director of the Franklin, New Jersey Girl Scout council for three years. Kay married John N. Faick, a geologist, in 1941, in Gilman, Colorado. They moved to Hanover, New Mexico in 1946, then to Tucson in 1951.
Known affectionately as 'Miss Kay' by her swimming, piano, and ballet students, Kay loved teaching kids and adults. While teaching swimming at the Tucson YWCA from the 1950s until the 1980s, she did pioneering work in water safety training with babies and toddlers, and taught teens and adults advanced swimming and life saving. She taught and participated in music and ballet until a few years ago. She taught private piano lessons nearly all her adult life. She did work toward a Masters Degree in Music at the University of Arizona.
Kay was a gracious lady with beautiful blue eyes and a warm smile. A loving mother, wife, and friend, she will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by brothers, Ike, Dallas, and Elmer of Greensboro, NC. Survived by husband of nearly 59 years, John N. Faick of Tucson; and son, John C. Faick; his wife, Marie; and granddaughters, Beth and Kathy of Santa Rosa, California.
Services will be held at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY on Friday, March 3, with a visitation at 1:00 p.m. and with service at 2:00 p.m. Donations may be made in Kay's name to an arthritis research institute, the American Parkinson Disease Association, the Tucson YWCA, or the organization of your choice.

HAMEROFF, Terry, 74, of Tucson, passed away February 29, 2000. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Eugene J. Hameroff; her sons, David E. (Anne) Hameroff, Stephen Hameroff, all of Tucson; grandchildren, Matt Hameroff and Erin Hameroff; brother, David Zwelling of Sarasota, FL; many nephews and nieces. Services were held yesterday at EVERGREEN MORTUARY with Rabbi Samuel Cohon, Temple Emanu-El officiating. Interment was in Temple Emanu-El Section of Evergreen cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the name of Terry Hameroff to either the American Lung Association or the Tucson Public Library.

HEELER, Wayne B. 'The Commander', went to be with his father in heaven on February 25, 2000. Wayne was born on February 10, 1916 and served the Lord his entire life. He leaves behind his wife, Theresa, of 48 years, who was his strength and joy, companion and love of his life. Wayne also leaves his loving nieces, Pat, Paula and Peg. Wayne was an inspiration to everyone he came in contact with and will be deeply missed by his many friends. He served with distinction during WWII, loved his country and was a dedicated man of God. A celebration will be held in his honor on Saturday, March 4, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. at the Bring's East Chapel at Kolb and Broadway. The Pastor, Sammy Marrow will be officiating. Theresa wishes, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the TMC Hospice, 5301 E. Grant Road, Tucson, AZ 85712 in Wayne's memory. A special thanks to George and Roseann of the Hospice Center for their compassion and caring given the last few weeks. They are very special people who will always be part of our lives. KEITH, Hazel I., born February 11, 1909 in Iowa, passed away February 27, 2000. She is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and one brother, and she is survived by one niece and two nephews. Hazel worked for the Red Cross and was active in Arizona with Eastern Star, Rainbow Girls, Amaranth, and Daughters of the Nile. Burial will be in Cedar Memorial Gardens, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Dodge Chapel.

KIDWAI, Saieda, born in Murabad, India, passed away March 1, 2000. Spent her childhood in India and her married years in Pakistan. Survived by three children, Sherry Ahmed, Tariq Khan and his wife Anne Ceceli, Neelofer Aziz; and eight grandchildren; brother, Kamal M. Kidwai; and two nephews, Ravi Kidwai and Rahul Kidwai; and one niece, Saria Kidwai in India. Memorial Service will be held 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 2, 2000 at EAST LAWN PALMS CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Road.

KNAPKE, Herman 'Tate', 83, entered into eternal rest on February 23, 2000. preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marge, in 1993. Tate was a restaurateur in his hometown of Decatur, Indiana. He retired in 1983 and moved with Marge to Tucson. He and Marge were founding members of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 5150 N. Valley View Road., where the Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, March 3 at 10:00 a.m. in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. Private burial services to follow.

LEWIS, Louise, 71, entered into eternal life February 19, 2000 surrounded by those she loved. preceded in death by her parents, David and Catherine Ahlstrom and daughter, Catherine Parsons. She is survived by her daughters, Karin (John) Kenneally, Maureen (Rick) Schwartz, Gail (Kelly) Brent; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be offered at St. Michael's and All Angels Episcopal Church, 602 N. Wilmot, at 8:30 a.m. on March 4, 2000. Graveside services will be private.

NORIEGA, Gilbert 'Chubby' L., of Tucson, Arizona, passed away February 28, 2000. Survived by wife, Delfina Noriega; daughters, Mauricia Monica (Henry) Valenzuela, Catherine (Saeed) Noriega Ahmad and Betina (Jerry) Noriega Esquer; sons, Gilbert and Caesar David Noriega; sisters, Josephina Noriega, Hortencia (Gabriel) Padron and Ofelia (Francisco) Nava; brothers, Mike and John Noriega; also survived by 9 grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 3, 2000 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Carrillo's Tucson Mortuary (South Chapel), 240 S. Stone Ave. with a rosary recited at 7:30 Mass will be offered on Saturday, March 4, 2000, 9:00 p.m. at St. Monica's Church, 212 W. Medina. Interment to follow at Holy Hope cemetery. RUIZ, Rita O., 88, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away February 28, 2000. preceded in death by son, Alfonso Ruiz. Survived by daughters, Macky (Pete) Molina and Maria Elena (Manuel) Sandoval; sons, Francisco, Abraham (Socorro) and Albelardo (Hortensia) Ruiz, and Felix Reyes; sister, Francisca (Isuaro) Rodriguez; also survived by 27 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. WERNER, Neale Lewis, 74, died February 29, 2000. Husband of Alice Kochneff-Werner of Tucson, Az.; Father of Christine Frazier of Hot Springs, AR, Lisa Steams of Alabaster, AL, Erik, Timothy and Nicholas Werner of Madison, WI and Paul Werner of Bradenton, FL.; Brother of Wilfred and Stanley Werner of Muscatine, IA and Maxine Manger of Fayetteville, NC. He was preceded in death by his first wife Laura Werner and twin sons Peter and Paul. He was Chief Hospital engineer for University of WI Medical School and was a WWII Army Air Corp. Veteran. Memorial Mass will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 3, 2000 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 1375 S. Camino Seco. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

DRISCOLL, Agnes, of Tucson, died March 2, 2000. She is survived by her sister, Alice Driscoll. For the last five years, Agnes received excellent care from the staff of Escondido House. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 8650 N. Shannon Rd., Monday, March 6, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at a later date at Holy Hope cemetery. ANNIE HANSON MENDOZA
Passed on to our Lord on February 28, 2000. Born October 10, 1916. She is preceded in death by her husband, John C. Mendoza; daughter, Gloria McCulloch.
Survived by her daughters, Dolores (Dale) Brumit and Anna (Alex) Arevalo; son, John (Alma) Mendoza; also, 9 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
She was a faithful women of God, had many friends and will be missed by all. We celebrate the time we had with her and are joyful that she is at peace with the Lord. We love you Mom.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 5, 2000 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at Carrillo's Tucson Mortuary (North Chapel), 204 S. Stone Ave. with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Monday, March 6, 2000, 9:00 a.m. at St. Augustine's Cathedral, 192 S. Stone Ave. Interment to follow at Holy Hope cemetery.

DALE F. BENITES, 52, of Tucson, Arizona was called by angels on March 02, 2000. Survived by parents, Natalie and Ernie 'Dale' Benites; nieces, Melissa and Nikki Molina, Natalie Serna and Paulette Benites; nephews, Jimmy Molina, Michael and Mark Serna; god son, Brad Benites; sisters, Carol (Jim) Molina and Mary Alice (Albert) Serna; brothers, Robert and Patrick (Tamia) Benites; also survived by great-grand nephew, Jimmy Lopez.
Mass will be offered on Tuesday, March 07, 2000, 10:30 a.m. at St. Augustine's Cathedral, 192 S. Stone Ave. Pallbearers, Robert Benites, Patrick Benites, Jim Molina, Albert Serna, Jimmy Molina, Bradford Benites, Michael Serna and Eddie Benites. Honorary Pallbearers, Charlie and Marty Armenta.
Dale, a seventh generation Tucsonan, graduated from Rincon High School in 1967. He attended Phoenix Junior College where he graduated in 1969. Dale was last employed by Texaco, Inc., as a tank-truck operator. Dale was loved by all who knew him. He will be sadly missed by relatives and friends.
