Father of Kathi (Richard) Tellez, Yolanda (William) Rodriguez, Peggy (Timothy) Gonzales, Anthony Varela, Priscilla Varela, all of Tucson, and Barbara (Tomas) Nava (Phoenix); 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Funeral Service Saturday, March 11, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. at ABBEY FUNERAL CHAPEL, 3435 N. 1st Ave. (888-1111).

ACUNA, Steve 'Sapo', 47, of Tucson, died Thursday, March 9, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Eulalia V. Acuna; daughters, Stephanie, Elizabeth; son, Chris (Monica); granddaughters, Francisca, Anissa; grandson, Brenton; mother, Secundina; brothers, Juan (Yvonne), Tony (Eva), Peter (Irma); sisters, Teddy (Bill), Linda (Louie) Escalante, Trini (Feliciano); mother-in-law, Maria A. Valenzuela; and numerous nephews, nieces; grandnephews and grandnieces. An all-night wake will begin at 4:00 p.m with recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 12, 2000 at San Ignacio Church, 785 W. Sahuaro. Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Monday. Burial at Holy Hope cemetery will be at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to HEATHER MORTUARY.

GRANILLO, Rose S. 'Chita', 92, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away March 9, 2000, peacefully in her sleep. preceded in death by husband, Manuel. Survived by daughter, Annie (Tony) Harper; sisters, Lil Brandt and Bea (Mann) Cocio; sister-in-law, Esther Jacques; grandson, Daniel Otten; also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Marion 'Joe' Mitchell, 65, of Tucson, lost his battle with cancer at home with his family on March 10, 2000. Joe was born and raised in Vine Grove, Kentucky. He enlisted with the US Air Force in 1953. After a distinguished career of more than 27 years, Joe retired from active duty military service at the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He then spent the next 19 years in federal service retiring while in the position of Director of Contract Operations, 355th Contracting Squadron, Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ. Joe is survived by his wife, Carmen of Tucson, AZ; daughters, Kathy Stubbs and Linda Huffman of Panama City, FL; sons, Ed Mitchell of Milton, NH, Joe Mitchell of Valdosta, GA, and Michael Mitchell of Tucson, AZ; stepson, Mark Brennan of Tucson, AZ; brother and sister-in-law, Johnnie and Dixie Mitchell of Vine Grove, KY; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Vigil service 7:00 p.m., Sunday, March 12, 2000 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL. Mass will be offered 9:00 a.m., Monday, March 13, 2000 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 215 S. Craycroft. ORY, Anne Rood, age 69, of Tucson, born December 1, 1930, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2000. A beloved mother, sister, and aunt, she is preceded in death by her husband of many years, Leland E. Ory. Anne is survived by her daughter, Melinda Oryof Tucson; sister, Patience Sanford of Cincinnati, Ohio; many nieces and nephews, also of Cincinnati, Ohio. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, March 13, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 1946 East Lee at Campbell Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. VRULAND, Gladys, Born in Stockton, IL April 2, 1902 and died February 26, 2000 in Tucson. preceded in death by husband, Henry Vruland; and son, Eugene Bruce. Survived by son, Robert Bruce of Bakersfield, CA; and daughter-in-law, Miriam Bruce of Tucson; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Private burial service will be held.

BOYLE, Douglas Edward, Sr., 79, died peacefully March 11, 2000 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 8, 1920 in London, England to the late Francis and Lilly King Boyle. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Maureen Fogarty Boyle; his sister, Barbara Boyle; his children, Sharon (Fred) Guthrie, Barbara (Logan) Delp, Douglas (Elaine) Boyle, Jr., Pat (Ben) Nazzaro, Michael (Linda) Boyle, and Frank Boyle. Mr. Boyle was predeceased by his daughter, Suzy. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Patricia and Mark Guthrie, Duncan and Douglas Delp, Brigette (David) Meicke, Thomas (Lisa) Nazzaro, Brian and Andrew Boyle, and Colleen and David Boyle; his great-grandchildren, Amanda and Keara Guthrie and Benjamin Meicke. Mr. Boyle worked in the Tucson lumber business. From 1956 he managed Oracle Road Lumber in Tucson and owned and operated with his son, Doug Jr., Oracle Building Materials in Oracle, AZ until retirement in 1988. Rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 13, 2000 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL. Mass of the Resurrection will be offered at 8:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 14, 2000 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 5150 N. Valley View Rd. Burial to follow in Holy Hope cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 13, 2000 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

ALEJANDRINA S. BUSTAMANTE (NANA GUERA), 76, of Tucson, born May 25, 1923 in Magdalena, Sonora Mexico, passed away on March 10, 2000. She is survived by husband, Jesus M. Bustamante; sister, Angela (Julio) Cucivichan; daughters, Maria Jesus (Inocente) Molina, Maria S. Verdugo, Alma Angelina Navarro, Maria L. (Jimmy) Rivera, Karmeen (Trini) Amaya; sons, Cristobal (Maria), Manuel (Sylvia), Luis (Avadina), Francisco (Jo-Earleen), Ralph Navarro, Jose Luis (Rosalba) Navarro; over 50 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren. Nana Guera touched the hearts of many peoples lives and will forever be remembered. We love you, Nana. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2000 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be offered on Wednesday, March 15, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Johns Catholic Church, 602 W. Ajo Way. Burial to follow at South Lawn cemetery.

DeARMOND, Bonnie Moffett, age 96, of Tucson, passed away quietly in her sleep March 10, 2000. She was preceded in death by her husband, Murray. She is survived by daughter, Diane; son, Murray; brother, Rex Moffett; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson. She graduated from DePaul University, belonged to Delta Delta Delta Sorority and was a longtime, active member of Tabernacle Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis.
The family is deeply grateful to all the staff at Tucson Mountain Assisted Living for the continual love and care they generously provided these past several years.
Services will be held in Indianapolis, Indiana.

DOWD, Richard Irl, 84, died March 11, 2000, Tucson. Born July 30, 1915 at Tacoma, Washington. Survived by his wife of 51 years, Loula Mae; stepson, J.W. Persons of Arlington, TX; sisters, Delight Allison and Joanna Winter. Irl was a member of the 49er Golf and Country Club, UCLA Alumni Association, Kappa Sigma Fraternity, 19th Bombardment Assn., Southern Arizona Seniors Golf Assn., Wildcat Club (U of AZ), Army & Air Force Exchange Service Retirees Assn., and a resident of Tucson since 1977. Friends may call 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 14, 2000 at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Burial will be private. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.

GUSTAFSON, Everet R., 90, died March 9, 2000. Survived by wife, Ellen; son, Donald of Kansas City; brother, Hilding of Tucson; many nephews and nieces. preceded in death by parents and brother, Gilbert. Employed with the National Tea Co for 38 years as a food chemist. Sixty-year member of the American Chemical Society. Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 14, 2000 at the Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, 2005 S. Houghton Road. Burial will be 45 minutes following the conclusion of the church service at the East Lawn Palms cemetery. Contribution may be made to the Mt. Olive Church in memory of Everet. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.

KNOBEL, Valjean, 71, died March 5, 2000. ABBEY FUNERAL cHAPEL, (888-1111)

RUTH MAXINE TREVETT LITT, succumbed to pneumonia on March 10, 2000 after an illness of year and a half. Ruth was born in Casper, Natrona County, Wyoming on August 30, 1916. Her parents, Guy H. and Faye L. Thompson Trevett were Wyoming pioneers. Graduating valedictorian from her high school, she was awarded a full scholarship to the University of Southern California, where she earned a Bachelor of Education degree in 1938. At USC she met her future husband, Bown Kastner Litt, son of T.Ed and Belle Bown Litt of Tucson. After teaching high school for two years in Casper, Wyoming, Ruth married Bown in Scottsbluff, Nebraska on September 23, 1939. Ruth and Bown (who passed away March 29, 1991) celebrated 51 1/2 years of marriage and are survived by their three children, Theora Ruth (John) Barringer, Bown Kastner (Beverly Lewis) Litt, Jr., and Deborah Faye (George) Patchett. Also four grandchildren, Deborah Jo (Paul) Gilbert, Joseph Bown Litt, T.Ed Litt and Michael Robert Litt; and one great-grandchild, John Michael Gilbert. Ruth and Bown, a local prominent dentist for 40 years, loved Tucson and gave countless hours to many civic organizations such as the Junior League of Tucson, and Dental, Kiwanis and St. Mary's auxiliaries. They raised their family with love and their family is grateful that Ruth is now reunited with her husband, and their parents, siblings and friends. Thanks Mom. We will miss you greatly.

O'RIELLY, Josephine Lee Brady, a sixth generation Tucsonan, passed away March 11, 2000. The granddaughter of Peter R. Brady, who settled in Tucson in the 1850s, she was born in Tucson on February 21, 1898 to Josephine Lee and Richard Garnet Brady, a prominent Tucson rancher. Her mother died two weeks later. Her paternal stepmother, Antonia Brady, raised her. At the age of 10 and after Antonia died, Jo went to live with her father, who was remarried to Bernice Smith, and a brother and three sisters at 375 South Stone Ave. She attended Immaculate Heart Academy and later, the University of Arizona where she was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. Jo married Frank C. O'Rielly in October of 1924, six months after he had opened O'Rielly Motor Co. which, last March, celebrated its 75th anniversary as a Chevrolet dealership in Tucson.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Charles M.) Pettis; her son, Buck (Bobbie Corr) O'Rielly; a grandson, Rich O'Rielly, all of whom live in Tucson; and a granddaughter, Amy (Rob) Draper of Arlington, VA; three great-grandchildren, Katherine Lee Draper, John O'Rielly Draper, and Ryan Rainsford Draper; and her devoted companion for the last 12 years, Sister Darlene Hoch. Two nieces and two nephews also survive her.
She was a member of PEO, Chapter J., and the Board of Visitors of St. Luke's in the Desert. During WWII, Jo served as a Gray Lady and worked many volunteer hours at the Tucson Veterans Hospital. Her passion was her family. She will always be remembered by family and her many friends as a kind, caring and generous daughter, sister, wife, mother, grand-, and great-grandmother, and friend. She lived in three centuries. Her life was long and fruitful and had as its principle characteristics the love she gave to all who knew her and the love she received in return.
A Memorial Catholic Mass will be celebrated at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 3201 E. Presidio Rd., Tucson, at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 15. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the ORFA Foundation, Box 31000, Tucson, AZ 85751; or to any charity or foundation of your choice.

PARKER, William Forrest, Sr., 88, passed away Friday, March 3, 2000. Survived by wife of 54 years, Mary; children, Martha Parker (Robert) Collier of Escalon, CA; Mary Jane (Postelle R.) Vaughan of Tucson; Frances L. (Neal) Patronsky of Catalina, AZ; William Forrest Parker, Jr of Chicago, IL; John Charles (Janet) Parker of Temecula, CA; grandchildren, John Collier, Terry, Ann, Dustin, Ruth and Ryan Roberts, Alan and Andrew Hicks, Julie and John Parker, Erin and Jessica Parker; great grandchildren, Jake and Katie Collier. Mr. Parker operated a grocery store in Winkleman for 44 years, retiring to Tucson in 1977. He was a life member of the Elks Lodge, Miami-Globe Chapter. Memorial Services have been held at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY. Remembrances may be made to the Heart/Lung Assoc.

ROWE, Barbara, A., 94, of Tucson passed away on March 7, 2000. She is survived by her son Robert (Blanche) Davis; granddaughter, Sandy Davis; grandson, Robert (Yoli) Davis; and great-grandchildren, Danielle, Heath, Tyler and Paulina. A private graveside service for family and close friends will be held at Holy Hope cemetery, 3555 N.
